IPv6Freely Posted January 30, 2018 Posted January 30, 2018 Anyone know the correct size screw for goalie cages?
coopaloop1234 Posted January 30, 2018 Posted January 30, 2018 Not 100% sure as we don't carry any 3/16" screws to compare too, but I think it's 3/16". http://www.protectiveathleticwear.com/goaliehelmetparts.htm I'm using the bottom "nut" style accessory as a benchmark to make this claim, though it does seem right.

Thanks! That gives me the length, but not the threads themselves.

I know the bolts they have there are listing the length, but I'm assuming the nut is 3/16". I mean, unless they're displaying the length of the receiving end (lol why?). So I may be wrong here, but just basing it off of a measuring tape I have at my desk, 3/16" does seem like the right diameter.
coopaloop1234 Posted January 30, 2018 Posted January 30, 2018 http://www.icewarehouse.com/Helmet_Dome_Snap_Screw_w_Post/descpage-DSWN.html This is for the snaps, but they have 3/16" threads.

That doesn't specify the thread size. A 3/16" screw with #8-32 threads will not be compatible with something that needs #6-32 threads. I realize these aren't cage screws, but this demonstrates the difference in thread sizes for the same length screw:
IPv6Freely Posted January 30, 2018 Author Posted January 30, 2018 Doing some more googling, it looks like 8-32 x 3/16" is the most common size cage screw. Thanks!
coopaloop1234 Posted January 30, 2018 Posted January 30, 2018 Ah fuck, you're right. I didn't read well enough it seems. I got excited and saw 3/16" and just posted just to be right.

Chenner29 Posted January 31, 2018 Posted January 31, 2018 Check out GoalieParts.com. You can buy prebuilt kits as needed. The hardware is better quality than what you'd get at your general hardware store. Dennis ships super fast and includes a free goalie trading card with every purchase!

I tried looking at home depot and they don't have truss head screws smaller than an inch. I've bought from Mcmaster countless times before though so thank you for the link
IPv6Freely Posted March 19, 2018 Author Posted March 19, 2018 Placed my order 6 hours ago. The package was at my front door when I got home. Crazy.
