As much as I would love Quebec City, seems like Houston would be hard to say no to. Massive market, and you can keep the conference alignment in place. WillyGrips13
And as we can see by the final four teams in the playoffs, real hockey franchises are in the south.

MTH
I really think the NHL likes leaving the Yotes as is. They're basically chum that attracts big money sharks to buy them. The NHL then convinces these people with plans that they need an expansion franchise. Then the owners all get a share of the expansion fee jackpot rather than the much smaller relocation fee. I suspect you're more likely to see a second team in Toronto than a team in Quebec City.

The Gladiators (ECHL) got new ownership for the 22/23 season and a lot of people are hoping they can pull a few strings. ATL Hockey Group, LLC, led by businessman Alex Campbell with former NHL player and NHL on TNT commentator Anson Carter holding a minority stake. Scythe
I don't see it happening though. No way.
MTH
Atlanta: Major US market with tons of cash. NHL ready facilities. Ownership group ready to go. If they weren't 0-2 so far with the NHL, they'd be a sure bet.
