Big2
To all See attached picture taken this morning of Al Montoya's skates! I believe he wears VH skates ( if not mistaken he had the 1 piece model ) what is he wearing below a VH with a Bauer cowling - but take a look at the plaque on the inside of his foot! bunnyman666
That looks like a Vaughn cowling!
Big2
bunnyman its not its a Bauer cowling but there's a plaque on the side of his skate look how sharp the front end changes from perpendicular to parallel - unfortunately my timing on snapping the picture was off but earlier this AM when I firts saw the sports cast I noticed everything. bunnyman666
I see the characteristic Bauer toe, but the inside foot bit looks like it's from an older cowling when I expand the pic.
Big2
What I am wanting you all to focus on is the white reinforcement on the inside of his boot! Has anyone ever seen this on a goalie skate before?? Bunnyman do you think he is still wearing a VH boot - looks like it?
bunnyman666
The picture is *just* obscured to make me question. But if I did not know better, that looks like a Bauer cowling combined with something else entirely. Not sure of the skate. I don't associate blue felt (on the tongue) with VH, but Montoya IS a pro and has access to stuff we may never see.
SaveByRichter35
Looks like the regular old Bauer Tuuk cowling to me. Bishop still wears the old cowlings too.
TheGoalNet
It looks like a hybrid of the new and old Bauer cowling how old old is that photo, he's in VH 1 piece now
SaveByRichter35
Yea actually I see the squared off toe now. Brodeur did the same thing when the one100 came out. He shoved the sides of the older cowling into the Vertexx cowling.
