JDASILVA
Just curious if anyone has removed the Tune Fit calf strapping on the Mach pads and just used these two straps? Edited January 21 by JDASILVA
ThatCarGuy
Better question, why? If you're going for a looser fit try wearing the tune fit strap to the outer calf wrap that way you don't completely eliminate the strapping and potentially have your leg pad fall off
coopaloop1234
I could maybe see it working if you strap behind the knee, but going down to the calf is just asking for this pad to not work. There's also the Vapour strapping set up that you can swap out and attach to the outside if you're looking for a looser fit.
heyclaytay
I removed the tune fit strap, but use the vapor professor strap and attach the top velcro strap to the knee wing. I've found this to be the best balance setup for me.

IMO the Bauer pads are a little top-heavy due to the Stabilislide/Flex bracket. You need the extra security of the elastic to combat this

JDASILVA
Thanks for the input everyone. I've order the hyperlite 2.0 straps and going to give that a go.

I think you’re fine to use that. I removed the tune fit on my old 2X and it was no problem.

Where did you order the straps from? I just got a Mach set and the tune fit strap is ridiculously tight even on the widest setting. Was thinking about tying in skate lace or something to the loops attached to pad to help loosen the fit...

Brossiot had his pad come off similar to the picture mid game a couple years ago. He since has had a nylon strap that loops back similar to True pads. I’m surprised it isn’t stock and or requested more by Pro’s. I did see it on a Wedgewood demo set.

When getting my first custom set, I still went with hard straps and velcro combo to avoid something like this occuring.
JDASILVA
Update: Thanks for all the input fellas. I switched to the Hyperlite 2.0 straps and I was able to get them much looser. Last game I put the pro tune back on loosest setting. I played really well in them but man…..my hips and groin were sore afterwards. I’m a 40 year old mediocre beer leaguer in pretty good shape but it made me wonder how people can play with pads like the Mach and True lines with “tight” leg channel. Finally the reason for this long winded reply is that the True PX4 line has me intrigued but I don’t want to have similar issues with them like I do with the Mach. I still like the Mach but I forgot how much I loved Levebre. My Vapor 90 glove has been amazing but she’s starting to break down. I just bought a PX4 580 and fell in love all over again. cheers
