Don't they also have that insane quarterly custom gear delivery schedule? Basically your gear is guaranteed delivered at a certain date (more or less), but that's just when all gear ordered before a certain date will be delivered? (This sounds like I'm just describing how normal orders work, but I seem to remember a schedule) In November last year I ordered a pair of SLR Carbon pants from a store (no stock in my size anywhere that didn't have ridiculous shipping), and was told to expect 14 weeks. There was nothing custom about the pants, just that I wanted my size. Thankfully I guess they found a pair in the warehouse because they came in about 3 weeks later, but their scheduling seems to be pretty wild even without all the pro/junior orders. @Moose75 You might be better off with a custom shop.
  2. You can ask for a custom length on a new order. If you're looking more for lengthening the ones you have, you could use a speedy stitcher and swap out the shock cord with the existing tabs. It's pretty standard shock cord that you could source at a hardware store or something.
  3. There isn't any HD foam in the 2S toe bridge (1S on left), so just used skate lace to tie them in. I will probably do a bit better job and burn off the edges, but I like it well enough. Similar to how @TheGoalNet ties his in. I might source some HD foam eventually, but this seems to work for now.
  4. Figured I should post this since I actually didn't have any issues with durability. 8 months of use, the blue jenpro tabs are ones that I added to better lace them to my 1S pads, and the slits I added to thread my knee elastics through. My main issue is that they are just a little too sloppy. Partly because 1S knee blocks are a little sloppy on their own, but also they just didn't quite line up and didn't follow my original design at all. The default design isn't super great for 1S installation either. If I had a pad that lent itself to an easier Fazio spec installation, I might recommend them, but it's kind of hard on a pad like this. Going to take the nash parts with the maltese inside and use them as spacers/inserts in my knee pads to fill those out a bit.
  5. Armor model with custom Potvin graphic. Only used once, but didn't have the kind of snow build up I used to get on my HALs with the sleeves on them. Also extra long so I can put them through the front and back holes in my 1S runner before wrapping over the laces.

@oncogene yeah you're gonna want to drop down to 25" if you want the same size as the old model. There's another whole thread around here about all the messed up paddle sizing between brands. I did the same thing you did when I got my 1S, had to go back and exchange it

Mainly the double T is anchored a bit differently, the 2 ends are attached together at the glove instead of separate. This change the shape of the pocket slightly. Then the palm grip material is a little more textured to help keep the glove from slipping when you get later in games. The wrist cuff also feels more flexible. Unless anyof those points were things you really wanted changed, it's probably not going to be that much different of a glove.

That's the regular Blue. Unfinished basement lighting isn't great :P

The Bauer IG account just posted that due to including a bunch of new colourways, the customizer will be delayed until the end of the month. Don't have time right now to screengrab and post them all here, but there are waaaayyy more combinations than the Vapor or the options I was given when I pre-ordered. I would have maybe just done White/Blue/Silver instead of White/Blue/Blue, but I like how the blue with the silver logos came out. No dark based colourways still though

@Awgoalie164 I'll let @Hills recount his stories with the Vapors, but with my last 2 sets of Supremes, they have been 8/9 weeks. Not sure if there's an actual production reason that Vapors and Supremes would have different factors that affect delivery time, might just be personal luck (bad or good). I got my set on the ice last night and they basically felt like a much sturdier/balanced version of my 1S, which is exactly what I was hoping for. No real break in necessary for me. I do wish they would update the strapping on their catch gloves though. They never hold tight enough around my wrist, so I'll have to play with that a bit more. Once I get my 1S set back from Rance, I'm planning on doing a comparison thread between the 1S and 2S. There are a couple of updates outside of the obvious marketed changes. The 2S also feel like they fit me better than my 1S despite being the same size, so I want to get a side by side comparison.

The Vapor strapping wasn't an option, but the Vapor knee block and boot break are.

@TheGoalNet they look like a pretty similar build to the XF Pros that I got. I even tried taking the outer double shield piece off, but you lose the velcro to attach the strap to. The 2S have a bit more space in the knee, so hopefully the double shield fits a little better. Wish they had that Bauer anchor strap though

I'll probably stick with the stock CRS but with the calf strap down to the bottom of the outer wrap, that seemed to give me the most consistent feel. Also kinda disappointed that knee pads weren't included with pad purchase this time around. These did cost less than my 1S set though, and I've got both the 1S and new Vaughn knee pads, so just a minor disappointment haha

Picked them up this morning, but had to spend the day doing things outside with other people, so just getting settled now. Pretty psyched. Knee blocks are way sturdier, the glove is already more broken in than my 1S was. Get to take them on the ice Monday night.
  15. @bunnyman666 For all the joking around about wheel bags, the only comment I ever got when I used my tower bag was "that's a pretty big bag eh? And it holds everything?" But I'm also in Canada, so maybe that was the polite chirping equivalent @WillyGrips13 I've been using the backpack bag for a couple months now because of stairs as well, it's a pretty good bag. Still a little awkward to get up off the ground and onto your back if you don't have like a bench or something to start it off on. But it holds everything, including XL pants, L c/a, 35" pads and zips up comfortably. Just don't stand around chatting after a game with it on your back haha

@Goalieinneed I second this point. I came from 37"+1" TotalOne's with dual soft breaks, to a L 1S pad which maps closest to 35" (as in the graphic above), and there's still like a quarter of the knee block that sits above my knee in the bfly. I might get someone to move my knee blocks down a notch, since I tried a 34" pad and got lots of shots to the knees that I don't usually get. I don't have super mobile hips though, so I need that full thigh rise. If you've got generally good mobility, a size down would probably suit you just fine.

I've had the speed plates for a couple weeks now and I would say the superfeet were more comfortable, but I benefit from the arch support so I'll take that trade off. I wouldn't switch to speed plates for strictly comfort.

I got some speedplates last night, but got kind of rushed out of the store because I was there at close, so didn't get the full 10 minute sitting mold time. Will bake them again at home this weekend, but they already felt pretty good with the first skate. For reference, I have a pretty natural arch, but have pretty significant pronation when I stand, so hoping the speedplates will have more significant arch support as Aquilzz described. PS. Love seeing all the 2S orders going out

I'll have to see what the P2 stick feels like just for completeness, but the previous Premier stick didn't feel as balanced to me as the 1S.

I've had pretty overall good experiences with Bauer composites. Started with the One95 I think... The one that got recalled due to the lead content in the paint, but only the junior and intermediate sizes were included (or a senior size being used by a kid) because the regulation was only for "children's" things. The main thing I did start doing was only getting the highest end model because the lower models would almost immediately start flaking paint after taking some shots. Went through a couple One80's before moving to the TotalOne and now 1S. Both my TotalOne's broke the same way, but it was more due to my own style and tendencies than the stick's fault really. Imagine if you lean on your stick for balance when sliding in the butterfly, and then add that up over a year and half/two years, my paddle broke a few inches down from the grip, same spot on both sticks. Haven't had that issue with the 1S and it's going on 2 years now. (This is based on 2-3 times per week, C to A division Beer League, so not college kids, but not nothing) As far as your taping, +1 to @goalieThreeOne with the strip of tape on the bottom of the blade. I still tape my 1S like this, even though it's not really a concern with the composite. For the curve, honestly I've found it pretty difficult to find anything other than a P31 in a Bauer around me. I've toyed with the idea of getting a custom set of 3-5 sticks that could probably last me the rest of my playing days, but haven't played around with different curves enough to warrant that.
  23. These are my latest purchases: Passau back pack bag, Vaughn V7 Pro XR knee pads with belt, custom length and graphic Pro Laces Armor The bag and knee pads are nice, won't get a chance to try the pro laces until my new set comes in early June. (don't want to bother untying my HALs from the current set)

I use the new yellow ones, I think they call them Hockey Carbon now. (there used to be grey ones called carbon that were not for skates, these are new yellow ones.) I use them because I have custom orthotics to help my feet from pronating, and these give me a bit of similar support. Not exactly the same, but better than nothing. I like the new ones better than the older ones, a bit more grip to them now. I probably wouldn't say it's worth switching out just for the grip though. Edit: Custom 1S skates btw
