  1. @thebigm Lol, I should've known. Googling OCT took me to some East coast teacher union pages, and while I get being a teacher is tough, I didn't they they were supplementing their income by building goalie gear. And vid works. Thanks. Looks to me like a typical stiffness of any 1S glove off the shelf. (I know the 2S in the vid is baked once)
  2. @thebigm Can you clarify what OCT stands for? And on both firefox and mobile, your video doesn't work for me.
  3. me three Edit: this is on both firefox and mobile.
  4. Man, I'm having a hell of a time finding a weekend goalie camp here in Vancouver, BC. It's been years since I've had any coaching, and god knows I need it. But every single camp that's being offered is going at Mon-Fri during the day (10:30-2:30). I'm also a cheap bugger and don't want to shell out for private lessons. Anyone have any insight? Should I just buck up and do the private sessions?
  5. It's alright, I'm fairly certain Girlfriends/Wives have this hatred for old gear just implanted into them at birth. What do you mean I need to get rid of my old set I'm totally keeping around just in case I want to switch it up just so we'll have more storage room for your stuff?
  6. Ah, I'm just busting your balls here. You've been pretty transparent in regards to reviews, gear acquisition and your role as the head honcho here. I get it too. I think I'm still trying to work on that as well. I know that I won't be straying far from Warrior gloves, leg pads I think I'm still deciding on. Still not sure if I want to go stiffer or revert back to a Velocity.
  7. lol doubt that. You got a CR1 just because a bunch of the guys in the show made the switch. You're a little too much of a gear nut to just stick to the ol' tried and true. Especially considering the position you're in the try out free demo sets for 'unreleased' gear.
  8. http://www.coroflot.com/matthewanswine/Footwear-Design-3D-n-Prototypes Guys, this is a personal website from a guy that is using it just for minor design projects. Either for school or personal fun. Nothing in his repertoire should be taken seriously, nor should it be up for this much scrutiny lol.
  9. @TheGoalNet That's more in line for what I expect from you. You've got some high standards to keep up to. I hope you're ready to be doing this every, single, year, for the next 40.
  10. I don't think it fits you very well @Chenner29
  11. Shouldn't you be dusting off your clubs with that broom?
  12. Some new steel for my 44k's. Just the black stock ccm steel. It was either that or step steel, and for whatever reason, adding height to my skates is a barrier I can't seem to want to get over as of yet.
  13. In case y'all were wondering. http://goaliestore.com/board/forum/equipment/equipment-reviews/77487-eagle-odyssey-steve-passmore-blocker By our very own @MTH
  14. Exactly. Best part of the GSBB was just some of the random off-topic threads that would pop up where users were able to goof around and shitpost. There was tons of valuable information, but we don't always need to be so serious around here.
  15. I don't know, I'm finding it interesting to see guys shorter than me using a much larger stick and guys taller than me using the same length stick as me. Plus, all everyone wants to do is talk about themselves, may as well let people interact and get post happy.
  16. You know I just want you to give it up immediately. I ain't about that wining and dining bb.
  17. No NXG or CR1 on here? This isn't the staple TGN comprehensive.
  18. G2, G3 and GT have all been the easiest glove to close off the shelf, haven't had a chance to get my greasy paws on a G4 set yet. So what are you talking about?
  19. Y'all need to get on the Warrior/Brian's bandwagon. What's a break in period?
  20. The p1 that Luongo is wearing is even older. Guys in the show know what they like and generally stick to it. Hell, Hellbuyck has about 6 leather straps per pad still. He's comfortable in "older" style gear and considering how and where he is playing, you can't knock him.
  21. If he's still doing what he did in Vancouver, then I think he's tying into the C/A.
  22. They're just crisscrossed. Look at the orientation of the Bauer logo.
  23. Again, everyone has their preferences and CCM and Vaughn guys are the biggest culprits for brand loyalty. You can get similar feelings between brands, but 590/580 guys swear up and down that theirs is the absolute best. I went from a LT90 closure, thought it was the best closure and blamed my lack of catching ability on me. Switched to the R/GT and have improved by an enormous amount. Everyone just needs to find the glove/break that works best for them.
  24. I think a lot of it familiarity. Reebok/CCM probably has the second most devoted following (Vaughn probably wins that category). Since the 580 break has been around since the KOHO days, guys just don't want to change out of it. I don't think too many people go to the 580 break, but mostly stick with it.
