Nice.  My back up CR3 is a Mzarek.  I had a Quick foam core and liked it

Have you had a chance to use the CR3 yet?

Used my CR1 last night, it's a tad shorter than my 25" swagger. Took a bit to get used to it, but I think I prefer it.

    Very nice... Curve?

Quick, 25" Paddle. It was the only curves in the CR1's that were left over. Which is fine.

I'm not exactly proficient at playing the puck so experimenting with different curves is kinda necessary for me.

Okay, not a fan of the Passau bag. Nothing that is their fault, it’s just not for me.

Construction and quality are great, I love the external skate pocket, but using it as a backpack isn’t fun. The primary issue is that the shoulder straps feel too far apart. Maybe my shoulders just aren’t broad enough.

So much for that eh? :P

However, between the transition to Pat Lefebvre or CCM's stronger influence, the mods are paying off. CCM told me the other day that 2017-2018 is the first year that 50% on NHL goal are in CCM gear. They are pretty serious about their data and don't count the 1 game call ups, etc too

Does that take into account the CCM/Reebok split when the first Eflex series came out?

Is the neoprene going to stretch?

All the tension is on the nylon strap.

If I take a picture of it, it'll make sense. I feel like I'm making it sound more complicated than it actually is. :P

You use the laces through the buckle or the elastic straps connected to each other?

That comment was for other options to what I do.

I've tried to circle what I do.

As I strap down to my calf, I removed the knee wing and buckle. I've left one of the female buckles on. I use the knee block strap from the other pad and buckle it into the female end.

    Hopefully that makes sense.

@IPv6Freely @coopaloop1234 - I carry an extra skate lace in my bag. The GNetik and 1S both had tabs or holes somewhere for optional straps that I looped the lace through. It was usually in the calf area somewhere. Optik has an extra loop specifically for this function next to the toe bridge.

Warriors have available holes as well in the toe bridge and through the heel or toe loop that the ARS straps clip on to.

I just use the buckle as it's just simple.

I don't understand the point you're trying to make. He specifically said "most sleep on the quality of Brian's chestys".

I don't even know anymore either...

Nobody said leader. We're talking about Quality. Brian's quality is second to none across the board. You'll never find better made stuff, period.

Maybe I mistyped. I don't think anyone thinks Brian's C/A's are lacking in quality, I think that most people are just super hesitant to diverge from what they're used to in the C/A side of things that they just pass up on Brian's gear by default. Conscious or not.

I don't think I've ever seen those words used together like that before.

I dunno, I, myself included, don't really consider Brian's a leader in the protective market. It's usually the CCM/Vaughn with Bauer following behind that people flock to.

They make excellent quality C/A's though. Just not my style.

I don't have any buckles... heh.

Though, I do use a leather strap through the cords on the thigh rise to hang the pads on my Grit bag. I was concerned about straining them but once the front strap is locked in there's not much strain from them hanging.

That's an interesting way to do it. Never would have occurred to me in a million years to do it that way.

For those who carry pads on the outside.... how? Back in the days of toe buckles and boot straps I could see connecting them and carrying them over the shoulder, but with modern pads I don't know how I'd even attempt to do it that way.

I've seen people use bungie cords.

I just use the male buckle that's attached to one knee stack and attach it to a female buckle I keep on the other pad solely for the use of carrying my pads. Doesn't but strain on any of the elastics or clips and doesn't bounce around as it's a nylon strap holding it my shoulder.

Had my set out for skate number 2... it was night and day... major adjustments:

    - wore the Sr knee pads

    - ran knee block strap across the knee.

    - used ARS toes and ran the boot thru my Lundy loop

Felt far more connected to my pads and that feeling of them being “sloppy” was gone.  The knee pads seem to soften the knee landing as well.  I wore them under my under armour compression pants and had NO slippage issues.

Won 7-2 and even my teammates were commenting how comfy I looked compared to the previous skate.  Still have some adjustments to weight on the glove. I overplayed the first 2 shots of the game, both goals, but settled in nicely for the rest of the game.  Can’t wait til the set is really broken in...

Glad the pads are settling in for you. They are a fantastic pair.

The set won't truly break in. The boot break is a tad softer than brand new, but still has a lot of the stiffer flex than in comparison to my old V4's.

Just the way I like it.

    lol, quadruple post.

I would love this too.  XL waist with internal belt, trimmed pant length and my proprietary  "super secret design for super cheater 5 hole webbing"...lol

    That's called an oversized jersey.
