I found some new BAUER Supreme S150 Senior Goalie Pads and was wondering what the reviews were on it.  I play about once a week rural rec hockey.  They worth picking up?

Not too many reviews on it. You won't see many members on this site using the cheapest of the cheap pads. Supreme line goes as follows for build quality / price.

    S150, S170, S190, 1S.

I live in an area that has great stock on all pads/ pad types and I've never seen a S150 in person. I've seen the S170, and aside from the absolute entry level or guy just picking up a set for fun with buds, I would avoid them.

Saying that, the S150 would be an even worse version of the S170.

I completely understand that we're not Pros and we don't need the same kind of attention, but what rubs me the wrong way is the fact that they market it the same way, using the Pros to get to us. Vaughn shouldn't try to convince me that Lundy wears the exact same chesty as the one hanging at the LHS.

I mean, companies have always used pros to market gear to the general public. It's why they brand their gear in the first place.

As for this thread, I really liked the idea until I read that even the NHL C/A's have nothing to do with the off the shelf Pro units. It kind of sucks seeing a guy in say a V7 unit, knowing it's something we can't get anyway

Shouldn't be too surprised. Pro's will always have access to things unavailable at the consumer level.

Hell, look at Vaughn, they'll bend over backwards for their pro's and their customization options. They will barely lift a finger at the consumer level.

    Just the way things go.

That grey piece, ribbed for pleasure?

Mmm, ya bby, I love that textured feeling on my knee. Rly gets them juices flowin'.

Recent Premier pads have a stiffer knee block, I'm assuming this textured portion will be a tad softer (looks squishy) and tacky to keep the knee from sliding off. I wouldn't wear these without kneepads though.

Gotta say, Premier line hasn't interested me much till this iteration, I'm really curious to get my hands on it for some reason.

Just to wrap up the previous storyline, this did end up happening. Fits so well, tucks into my SLR pants like a dream

    Yes!!!! The meme hype worked!

Definitely need a review after 10 skates or so. Mostly for my own curiosity. I've been in the LT90, and aside from the unit being designed to tuck and me wearing it untucked, I love it.

Just want to see how the newest model holds up

Edit: Also, how does everyone get their tucked C/A to stay? I can't seem to get it.

About a year and a half of twice a week beer league hockey. Not bad if you got them on clearance to try them out, but not great if you buy them new and expect to use the for a while.

Ouch, that is not good mileage for top of the line pants, let a lone senior level.

What happened to your glove? That´s quite bad.

My gloves are totally wear free. There is some minor wear areas in pads.

The only reason I can think of that happening is because I push in my tee with my blocker everytime I get set. Aside from that, it's not like that area sees any contact with ice or posts, so it's the only conclusion I could come up with.

I'm definitely not too thrilled about the wear.

The 9000 is a great unit. I don't know what they changed it to now, I guess 1X is hybrid? Altho I just looked quick and the 1X chesty looks nothing like the Reactor.

They ditched the reactor line completely in favour of the Vapour line. C/A, pads, gloves, skates, jocks, knee pads, etc. have all made the change over to the "new" branding.

Vapour line is completely different than the Reactor line in all aspects. (C/A included)
