  1. That is true. 1/2 on 4mm is equivalent to 3/8 on 3mm, or so I heard.
  2. Wow. Is this convergent evolution (Bauer and Warrior happen to be the same size)?
  3. Large in Bauer is, at least nominally, a 35" pad. That said, Warrior runs small. I would need a 36" Warrior pad. Warrior has a 1.5" thigh rise as stock.
  4. Basically, Brian's inherited Brian's name, but nothing that Brian's did since the 2000s involved him. Maybe that is why Brian's and Vaughn pads are very similar.
  5. Is there any relation between the Heaton pads and the current Brian's pads? I wore Brian's Demons (old, pre-lockout Brian's butterfly pads), and would have gone with Optik pads if I haven't fallen in love with Bauer. Brian's and Vaughn are very similar in terms of performance characteristics (Primo and Quickslide are very similar substances), but I am curious if Brian Heaton contributed more than his name to the SubZero, Optik, and/or G-Netik lines.
  6. I wear Ultrasonic. I might go Mach once my Ultrasonic pads no longer work.
  7. Will Bauer discount the OG Konekts at some point, to get them off the shelves for the Konekt 2s?
  8. I've always worn double cups. First my Vaughn Vision, then a Bauer Supreme jock, then a PAW custom double jock.
  9. That makes more sense. If I get a modern Bauer, I would probably be looking at either a 23 or 24. Strange to think that a 5'11 goalie would be using intermediate sticks, but it would make sense if I play a lot of butterfly.
  10. I have a pair of Bauer Elite skates that I bought about 2 years ago. I have replaced the stock blades earlier this year with Bladetech runners. I really love the skates, but unfortunately there were holes in the liner on the inside of both the left and right boots. A local hockey shop repaired the holes with helmet foam, but I found out that the skates ripped the skin on my heels when I played with them. I tried putting bandages on my heels to prevent the skates from ripping my skin again, but it didn't work. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem, or do I need to bite the bullet and get new skates? I'll put up photos of the area when I get home.
  11. Is the rockered blade a custom stick spec? I'm interested to learn more about sanding paddles, but I'm not sure how that would work with composite sticks. I'm using foam core sticks now, but I'm curious about replacements. The blades are getting very worn on the bottom.
  12. I wasn't sure, because the only model on the market so far is regular.
  13. Wow! And I thought my Ultrasonic pads have rocket hard rebounds. Good to know that Brian's can give Bauer a run for their money.
  14. Some stores don't have full right in stock, especially for lower price point gloves. However, I don't think Brian's will be that cheap with their new model.
  15. Will there be a FR version of this?
  16. What is your FTK? Mine is somewhere between 20.75 and 21.
  17. Does any of this affect rebound hardness? I'm curious, because I love my Warrior blocker. I want to make sure I can get pads that will make the rebounds fly off them once my UltraSonics wear down completely.
  18. Where can someone buy a stick with a non-standard paddle length? I'm asking, because I normally use 26" sticks, but I tried a 24.5" Bauer RX6 stick in a shop when waiting for my skates to be repaired. The only.reason I didn't pull the trigger was because there was only one of that stick. When I went on the Pure Hockey website to look at stick lengths, both for custom and retail sticks, I only saw sticks in whole-inch increments (24", 25", or 26"). Are there any sources I could check to reliably find sticks in non-standard lengths (or order custom sticks in those lengths)? Thanks!
  19. I had a pair of low price point Lefebvre Reebok gloves, and they were impossible to open and close properly even after several years of use. I also tried on a pair of new Lefebvre EFlex 5.9 full right gloves (the last CCM gloves that Lefebvre produced), and they were impossible to open or close from the get-go. By contrast, an new Bauer Reactor 3000 opened and closed like a charm.
  20. Awesome! It's good to see a fellow silly sider showing off the gear. I wonder why Bauer is über-stiff. Usually it is the cheap Lefebvre gloves that are so stiff as to be unusable. I'll keep that it mind if I do look to buy a FR 580 glove.
  21. Are there any videos of good saves by Karel Vejmelka or Logan Thompson?
  22. I agree. I'll probably get one of the black/white/silver sets if I can.
  23. I'm looking at a pair of Cal Petersen pro return gloves, as soon as I can pony up the cash for them.
