  1. @Neomop to reiterate what I mentioned above - I don't believe the intent with these are to supplement the liner using any kind of inserts. The idea is that your foot goes in the liner with it getting molded to your foot. Think more like casting your foot.

For anyone that's asked I don't think the idea is that you throw an insert into the mix: foot, liner, boot with both the liner and boot molded to your foot. Hope this helps.

  2. @timrickmann I'm not telling you what to do - but if your little person is in junior pads (and likely rapidly growing) I would just stick with regular run of the mill lace as you've suggested rather than spend the money elsewhere. Guess you could argue that anything aftermarket would be transferable but I'd hone in on the solution before I spend the money. For what its worth - I think you are on the right track.

  3. Welcome aboard the board @timrickmann. If I'm understanding your description correctly - it sounds like the pads are UNDER-rotating - meaning more like this (if you are looking straight on at the knees)...

    ... as opposed to this...

    ... which I'd call OVER-rotating.

Anwhow - you are on the right track. Generally if pads are under-rotating it means things (the toe and/or pad strapping) are too tight. If pads are over-rotating it means things are too loose.

    Hope this helps. Good luck.

Also stumbled upon this Simmons article which you might find useful: https://simmonshockey.com/toe-ties-and-pad-rotation

  4. I'm pretty sure that once upon a time on here somebody got the rebooted X-Men #1 (Jim Lee era) cover scene redone on a mask. Not finding a picture of the mask but here's a shot of the comic...

    Jim Lee's gatefold cover for X-Men #1.

... pretty sure it was like a pencil drawn/colored theme... or maybe they just shared some in production shots (?).

  5. To add to the list...

    1) White, black, stainless or gold cage (think Tuuka).

    2) As far as I know the "Pro's Choice" and the "Velocity" are the same shell shape (what used to be the "Vapor" in the Bauer days - think Khabibulin/Khudobin/Tuuka) while the "Vision" is the 961 flavored shape (Allen/Howard/Markstrom and pretty much every other PC in "The Show").

    3) He used to have foam options but I believe now he's just down to a rubatex looking tan foam. That's been for quite awhile at least.

For what its worth - as a guy that owns both the Vapor era PC (I went with no ear holes for paint) and a "Vision" I would echo what @Chenner29 said about fit and getting closer to the cage. The bend on the center bar of the 961 is definitely more pronounced and the foam is definitely thicker to the point where I never really got used to it coming from (2) of the Vapors. Hope this helps.

  6. @Lucky Pucker Chevy was the man back in my day (though that was mostly because he was the keeper on the hometown team). That said - he did get a lot of unwarranted venom spewed at him. He was a stud in that 3-1 series deficit against the North Stars - back to back shutouts in games 5/6 I believe. Those were the days - we didn't have cable but I'd listen to every single game on the radio.

    Shit. I'm old(er).

edited*** confirmed story, but was long before the new chest.

There was a story, and I want to say it came from InGoal, but the story highlighted Victor Fasth and his Bauer 1S chest got pulled after it was previously accepted based on how he looked on tv.

Fasth confirmed to InGoal Magazine late in the season that the NHL cut the shoulder pads on his chest-and-arm unit this season, but that didn’t happen until after he was already off to an 8-0-0 start to his NHL career. To be clear, Fasth wasn’t cheating. The NHL approved his gear, as it does with every piece of goalie equipment, and neither Fasth nor the Ducks made unapproved alterations. The shoulders simply looked bigger on him than expected.

Believe that JRZ was dropped after Bauer switched to the new Od1n style of pads.

I tend to agree with you. Just couldn't remember what the cutoff was from JRZ/old skool padz to the new fandangled, space age/Bauer only approach.

  9. @estogoalie FYI - JRZ was THE builder for Itech back in the day (RX9, X-Wing, etc.) and then became the builder for Bauer when Bauer bought up Itech. I forget the last line they did with Bauer (Reactor maaaybe?) before parting ways and putting out their own brand.

Ok, anyone with a pulse knows the top two. The bottom two I cant remember the tag team's name but one of them was Outback Jack. Pretty sure Brutis the Barber called him "Outhouse Jack".

Last night was exciting and fun to watch but geez....14 goals? Any mistake by the D or the goaler and in it went.

Anyone know the extent of Raanta's injury? Looked like a hip, knee, or hamstring.

    Tonight should be fun too.

(Kind of) close - those two gents are most commonly known as The Bushwackers - Luke (right) and Butch (left)... but of course went by other names in other territories.

  11. I think some of you are missing the point I was trying to make...

    1) Do your research (including asking "others").

    2) Weigh the pros and cons as I'm willing to bet no matter what you are asking about - you will always find both if you dig even just a little.

    3) Make an informed decision. For some that might mean you need a 90% confidence/10% doubt ratio... or 75%/25%... or 51%/49%. Spoiler alert - even the most informed decisions can backfire - every once and awhile you just have to bite the bullet and try shit for yourself (and it might not end up how you expected).

This doesn't include devolving into internet pissing matches and stating your point over and over ad nauseum. Make your point/provide your feedback and then move on. People will either take it or leave it. I don't see a lot of value in asking the same questions, getting the same answers and then arguing about it... over and over and over... to the tune of a dozen or so posts in two pages worth of a thread - just clutters the board and makes me want to avoid certain threads. But hey - this is the internet so I shouldn't expect anything less.

Sometimes you just have to agree to disagree and go your separate ways. End rant.
