  1. I know he's been in them for a while but those look like the v1 Konekts and not the v2 with black holder. Interesting, so he's in v2 Konekts but kept the v1 holder? They're still the same Vertexx Edge holders, just black vs. white, right?
  2. I thought he switched to the new Konekts?
  3. I'm a bigger guy (6' 240ish lbs with broad shoulders), and I've found the best fitting jerseys to be from OK Goalie . I wear the Goalie Cut +, but they have three GC sizes available. I have a bunch from Sublimation Kings in their 5XL GC, they fit me pretty well but I wish they had an extra couple inches in the chest. One of my teams uses jerseys from Men's League Sweaters, their 2XL goal cut is comically large but their XL goal cut fits decent, pretty long in the arms though- but you can't order single jerseys from them. Another team uses Pear Sox which fit well (although a little short in the arms for me), are lightweight and pretty no frills.
  4. Anecdotal, but many of my beer league games take place after kids practicing and the young goalies predominantly wear Bauer and CCM. Even in beer league, it's dominated by those two, with the occasional Warrior and Brian's. I don't think I've seen any True at my rink at any level.
  5. Had a funny occurrence at a game last week. Other team came down on a 1v1 and beat my D man by a step to the outside, cut across and put it in on me. My D man cut with him and as I was bfly sliding across, he caught the top of my pad with his foot and ripped my pad off, only thing holding it on was my toe ties. So I was down, with my pad flung the other way but still attached to my skate. I took off my helmet because I didn’t know wtf happened and felt a breeze on my leg. My team jumped off the bench, apparently everyone thought I blew my knee out and my leg was flopping the other direction. Even the refs and other team thought it, too. Everyone got super quiet for a few minutes while I sat on the ice and fixed my pad.
  6. I’ve done this to two of my Warriors and absolutely love the grip. I’ve actually modified it a bit to shave down some more on my thumb side. Both have held up with no issues, including the occasional post smash after letting in a goal.

  8. Yeah, they do. They just started wearing the teal helmets with the road unis, too. I think them and a couple other teams now wear their colored helmets with white unis (I know I've seen the Canes do it, not sure who else).
  9. I'm playing my 5th game of the week tonight (thankfully I had a day off Wednesday). I'm starting to feel it, I told my lower level group (we have two teams split in lower divisions) that I'm not playing for one of them next season, and will do part time on the other. Still looks like I'll have at least two, most likely three, full time teams next season, with another part time (plus I sub for a bunch of teams).
  10. The elastics on one of mine is stretched pretty good, but I can probably bring them to a seamstress or tailor and have new ones sewed in if I wanted to. I should've gone EVA or gel, Sara mentioned it adds weight but I carry enough around I probably wouldn't notice it haha
  11. Curious to see who uses PAW knee pads and how long you've had them for. I've had a pair for about 2.5 years, playing 2-4 times/week and wondering how much more life I have in them before I should get a new pair. My knees have been a bit achy the last few months, curious if that's a sign it's time for a new pair or am I just old and chubby. I went with the standard foam for my current pair, if I were to order a new set I'd opt for the gel bottoms.
  12. Looks like they added some extra holes on the top buckle to get that strap tighter, nice. I had to drill out holes to get a better fight and I have some chunky ankles, can't imagine how much worse the v1's are for skinny legged folks
  13. I emailed Bauer and they called me and asked for a couple pics, I sent them in and had a replacement the same week. I dunno if I was lucky or they just liked the feet pics I included with the pictures of the damaged buckle. I've yet to use the one they sent me, I plugged it with JB Weld and it's held for a year now.
  14. I wonder what Nashville is gonna do with their goalie situation. Do they move Saros before the trade deadline? His contract isn't bad at all for his level of play, but if they do is Askarov ready to step in?
  15. They come with Pulse Ti blades vs Pulse SS on Konekt 1…any word on MSRP?
  16. It looks like something Mylec would come out with if they tried to make an ice hockey pad
  17. The Hzrdous graphic is one of the worst in recent memory, I'd put it dead last. I don't think either Vaughn pad has a bad graphic, they're pretty versatile IMO. I seem to be in the minority but I dig the Optik 3 graphics. Agree on Gnetik V's, Iconik is a step down from Brian's. I like what Bauer did with the Mach graphic, but the minimal color zones don't leave much room for creativity.
  18. The big question is, what happens to the ‘Coveted’ vanity plate on the Lambo?!
  19. ?? All the hackers I know look like this
  20. Took a bomb off my NME VTX that cracked the paint on the chin pretty good, doesn’t look beyond that but knowing the chin issues with these I’m hoping this isn’t the beginning of the end for it..

  22. Played in a Thanksgiving weekend 4-on-4 tourney on Black Friday, each team got (3) 30 minute running clock games, no icing/offsides, all penalties were penalty shops, pretty much no stoppages. It was a fun time, we went 3-0. Most of the guys were beer leaguers in various divisions (mostly upper C/B league). One team we played plays out of another rink, we beat them a couple times in a summer tourney but there wasn't any bad blood or anything. Their goalie, who I've never seen before, was an absolute prick. Right off the bat he was throwing hands at guys skating by, caught one of our guys with his blocker when he was cutting around the net, nut shotted another guy twice when he was in front- not even in the crease. Constantly chirping and being an all around prick. He let in a couple early on, but that didn't stop him from talking shit. Eventually he let in one from the red line because he was too busy giving shit to one of our guys in front, but dude still chirped after that. They got a penalty shot, I stopped it glove side, he starts yelling shit at me...while we're up 4-0. They finally scored one off of a 2-on-1, one timer to their guy from the slot, and dude says to me, "that went in between your legs btw"....I'm like yeah I know dude, it's 4-1. We scored one more to make it 5-1 and I started tapping my stick loudly, other goalie was flailing his arms and yelling shit at me . After the game, I said "you did good out there bud", then he started talking shit to my team as we skated off the ice. Never come across another goalie act like such a jackoff while getting clowned on the ice.
  23. Depending on who you go with and what their color options are, a grey set with some metallic silver weave mixed in (or vice versa) would look pretty dope IMO. For instance, Brian's has metallic silver and grey flat leather, as well as metallic silver weave. You can even mix in some white or black (they have black in flat, weave, and matte material). Even the same colors with different material (flat leather vs. weave) can look awesome when done right.
