I tried playing after ~5 weeks off with my sprained MCL. I got midway into the second period, butterflied and made a sharp kick out save, followed by excruciating pain. I had to get helped off the ice and home. It's been a week and a half since then, I iced and applied heat for a few days after and started going back to the gym. The pain has subsided to just about the same level it was prior to the game, however now my inner knee is still pretty swollen (although not very painful to the touch). I have an MRI this Friday, I'm hoping I didn't do any meniscus damage but the swelling has me concerned. I don't foresee playing for most of the spring and summer, which is a bummer because I was lined up to play on 4 teams this summer.

Yup, I had the whole set. No complaints, I preferred the Optik 9.0 glove over the Warrior (although I love the removable liner on the Warrior). Blocker is a blocker lol. I did get stingers in the glove when I played in A/B level beer league, but overall was happy with the whole set.

I had G5 Sr's before them and the Brian's were stiffer in the knee- I felt the Warrior's were pretty soft in the knee/thigh. My Gnetik V's with stock breaks are definitely stiffer than both. From what I understand, the Optik 9.0's were kind of a middle ground between the Optik and Gnetik lines.

I had an Optik 9.0 set prior to my Gnetik V’s. I used them for about a year playing 1-3x/week, they held up great. Pads definitely loosened up and got a little softer in the boot pretty quickly, but overall the quality was pretty good for the price point.

I'm losing my AA Platinum status in two days and don't travel enough to even keep gold...my coworker that usually hooks me up with status said AA changed the whole program and has made it difficult to get anyone status that doesn't fly much

Probably just protecting their dealers. If more people see they can just order from Canada and ship to the US so the buyer can save via exchange rate, it’ll probably piss off some dealers in the states.

I haven't scheduled the MRI yet but the pain has subsided significantly the past couple days, I'm assuming that means no meniscus damage. I have almost full range of motion with minimal/no pain now. Just a little pain if I pivot/twist my knee but it's manageable.

Thankfully it's been getting better daily, still some pain when I bend/twist but I can get around. I saw a Dr. yesterday and he's saying MCL sprain, and possible meniscus damage but I need to go get an MRI to confirm. I'm probably not playing for another month or so- I think my next game is April 16th. Hopefully it's healed up by then.

I'm turning 39 soon, do I qualify? I played last night, middle game of three in a row this week with one more tonight. My lower back, right knee, and left ankle are all quite sore and drying after a shower this morning introduced a spasm in the middle of my back.

Called Bauer, they asked for a few pics and sent a new buckle cable, but not the actual buckle itself. I’ve played twice with the slightly bent buckle and JB welded cable with no issues so figure I’ll keep using it until an issue arises.

So I took a shot of my skate and not only did the lower buckle cable finally detach but it also bent the actual buckle itself. Gonna call Bauer in the morning and see if I can get a replacement.

Anyone still using an old school combo? I have a SK2000/SM-90 combo that I refurbished years ago and is in great shape and I’m thinking about busting it out for the occasional beer league game.

Flyers games telecast on ESPN are usually blacked out, but NBC Sports always has the games on. I barely watch them, though- if there's other games on ESPN or TNT I'll usually watch an out of market game vs. watching the Flyers. They're a .500 team that plays incredibly boring hockey.

Someone posted a link to a spare parts kit, but I've only been able to find it internationally. I'd suggest contacting Bauer directly or your local Goalie Monkey, even if you bought them used I don't see why they wouldn't be able to get you spare parts. Those are CCM holders, someone swapped the stock Bauer Vertexx holder to a CCM XSG holder. Re: the holes drilled on top, I'm assuming this was done for some sort of toe tie/bungee setup? Only thing I can think of.

I haven't had cable in years, but with a Comcast login (thanks mom & dad!) watching Flyers games is easy through the NBC Sports app. I also have ESPN+, which for $10/month gets a ton of games (although Flyers games on here are always blacked out for me), plus Wednesdays on TNT, overall I get pretty good coverage of games. The Rangers/Flames game from the other night was one of the best games of the season IMO- thanks to Trouba laying people out all over the place and the Flames taking exception to that. But other than that, yeah, the games are just blegh for the most part.

I found most of the gear to look incredibly boring, aside from Shesty’s Brian’s setup. Hellebuyck’s was the worst- all white with a tiny sliver of baby blue and pink on the outer roll-ooo how exciting. Sarros and Skinner were in their regular CCM setups, so I’m assuming CCM couldn’t even be bothered to give their pros some sweet gear for the ASG.

Any chance these can be found in the US? Quick googling only yielded international results, would love to pick up a set of spare parts to have on hand just in case. On a related note, I took a shot off of the top buckle last night which unlatched it. Thankfully it happened with only a few seconds left in the period, during intermission I had a teammate look and no damage- buckle snapped right back and finished the game with no issues. Knock on wood, had these since August and no issues to date. Still loving my Konekts!

Would a drop of JB weld in their work? Thankfully mine haven’t failed yet, but if one does my plan was to put some JB weld in there until I get a replacement
