  1. I would bet that Tim Thomas would have bought these knee pads. Many a legend says that at the end of his career, he had a $60K gear budget and he would regularly spend over and above, using his own money. I could have seen him buying these AND having Dennis Dombrowski mod them
  2. My seamstress has repaired stripes on the pants, though it did require pad removal (great opportunity to examine and replace components), so I am certain you can add; just takes time.
  3. Broke into the high 150’s earlier this week; 18-ish more to go!
  4. Wifey taped the ASG for me, so I will watch out of obligation.
  5. I have a few Northland from the ‘50s in my collection!
  6. Actually, with a few tweaks, this tape job will be fine. I never felt any awkward weightiness, nor did it unbalance my stick. I will likely add this to my stick in a permanent fashion next.
  7. @seagoal I think he was going to plow through whether you poke checked or not. I looked at the stills and the video again. Heads-down and straight into the crease. And if you were my goalie and I were your D man, all 5’ 8 1/2” of this Yorkshire Terrier type D man (Coach Chicken used to call me a Yorkie: small in stature but mean as frack) would have lit up Mack Truck for that play; I probably would have been kicked out of the league. Poke checking is a legit contact play in any league for any position. That was my go to as a third line winger (D minded), as a D man in men’s league, and as a goalie. The kids don’t know how to play against poke checks from a goalie, and my use of the stick forces passes to the point or behind the net. @ArdeFIN did make a good counterpoint.
  8. Good onya. I have played this skate for two seasons and can’t figure out the secret LOL
  9. I play outdoors every Sunday from November to March. My challenges are: 1) my toes getting cold no matter if I use foot warmers or not, especially is the temps are below 20F 2) nose runs like a freaking faucet 3) my hands also freeze The toque is a nice touch. I may do that, even if there is no function.
  10. Agree with @Fullright
  11. Never admit that as it opens you up to prison style love making…
  12. He needs to be jumped in the parking lot.
  13. Maybe so; however- 1) not that much added weight 2) not all that hard to move the block up and down the stick In the end, I am merely thinking outside of the box. If this end up working out, I will be adding this to my shafts in a more permanent manner. Thanks for your input.
  14. The Curtis Curve is well missed. One of the key benefits was paddle down in the VH. Well, I think I have found the loophole for legality in this pursuit. I start with the end knob. I cut it flush to the shaft on the ice side, then I add some bulk mid-shaft. The shaft isn’t 100% flush to the ice, but rotating it forward makes it more flush.
  15. Theodore looks like Tommy Lee, minus the tattoos, in that shot!
  16. Jon Casey and Mike Liut would also do that, which is why I ask the following question: why isn’t a no curve stick an option?
  17. I do have a pair of full right gloves that I would sell to you.
  18. As an ambidextrous but right hand dominant person, I was told in no uncertain terms that unless you throw with your left hand and are otherwise left hand dominant, you’re better off to be regular hand goalie. That being said- there have been success stories of right hand dominant goalies playing full right. Another factor: Full right gear has a very low resale value, just like left hand guitars.
