  1. Don't be a hater. Or is it H8R? Word up!
  2. To the buyers? None. My kid's rink changed the pro shop to a Bauer shop. They have little goal gear and no images of goalies posted up in the store. They seem to have moved to generic Under Armour style model showing their gear. Heck they seem to have really focused on the casual gear line of clothing more. I know they are with lulumon - but we all get the Bauer holiday catalog and there is limited gear shown in it. They also focused nicely on selling the new $350 agent sticks to the kids and tell you kick rocks when they break in a week. Thanks. (warranty gets only one replacement and you have to send it into Bauer now and not do it at the local store where you bought it)
  3. When you run that drill - you just keep asking the other goalie if he can smell what the rock is cooking.
  4. Fanatics sells game used/issued stuff. Neat to be able to find this stuff... Here's his CCM 'H10' (Heaton stick w/ CCM name) stick. Same pointy heel and flat tip toe. Even his H4 Heatons had that same pointy heel: Seems like that heel was a legacy model of the old 90s Sher-Woods that he used in Juniors and as a rookie: Makes sense now. Those 50 pound sticks had that sharp heel.
  5. The later Sher-Wood Brodeurs had this sharp point at the heel and were just goofy to use. Again, world's best goalie at that time gets what he likes. I'm not sure if this was carry over from Heaton/CCM stick days or a later evolution of his requests. Odd as heck stick in person.
  6. Did you ever try an actual Martin Brodeur pattern stick? Odd like many HOF goalie sticks were. Lundquist pattern was awful too. Great pattern? Hextall pattern. Monster curve. Plus you could hack the hell out of any unsuspecting fools standing in front of you.
  7. The last years of the Bauer HM30. They were made from wire coat hangers. Dented if you sneezed. But they were like $30 new and every pro shop had them.
  8. If you're wearing this setup, you should be driving a Z28 Camaro... Awesome.
  9. I was looking at the NHL attendances for this year so far. From: https://www.hockey-reference.com/friv/attendance.cgi Flyers are 6th worst. Not surprised. But the average attendance for the Coyotes wasn't 100%. They average 4600 out of 5000 seats. No way? Are they holding seats open or are they only drawing 4600 per game. Maybe they knew what they were doing when they ok'd the move to a 5000 seat venue.
  10. True. They did lose 50,000 seats in the renovations. Crazy that they had an estimated 200,000 people at the Daytona 500 in 2006. That's more than the Coyotes 2021-2022 total attendance for the season (joking). But many tracks reduced seating capacities in the past decade. At the same time, providing a better experience for the people that attend. Coyotes are basically doing that here.
  11. This looks bad on tv: Which isn't what tv wants to show: This is normal Bristol crowd: Even Daytona was adjusted. All the grandstands along the backstretch were removed a few years ago. Same at other tracks like Phoenix:
  12. This is what NASCAR is doing. They peaked in the late 90/ early 2000s. Owners built more stands for all the people. Fans filled these places. NASCAR moved races from small tracks to the big ones. It was great. Then people stopped coming. Fans stopped watching. NASCAR adjusted (and still are) to reducing stands at tracks and moving races from the behemoth tracks that were boring to watch. Heck, next year, NASCAR is holding their mid-season all star race at North Wilksboro that NASCAR abandoned in the 90s and the fans (and Junior) pushed for NASCAR to return to. NASCAR was forced to adjust or die. I can see all pro sports kinda heading that way too.
  13. It's far from NYC. About a 2 hour drive. AC is more Philly media area than NYC. NJ is unofficially split (north jersey / south jersey) by where you get your news from (Philly/ NYC). Or basically I-195. AC is south of 195. As for the Marlins - never heard that before. I recall that they were looking at Vegas and Portland as options. The A's are going to move to Vegas finally. There were rumors too that the Marlins were looking at Virginia (before the Expos moved to DC). The AC baseball stadium wasn't supported by the area when they had cheap minor league baseball. No way MLB would go there. The stadium is about an hour east of Philly too. MLB teams have regions that they are in control of. This would have to be approved by the Phillies.
  14. Woof. I mean, at least it's indoors I guess... Even the old guys from the 70s minor league teams are laughing:
  15. Here are some action shots at home and the office. I forget what I said for each thing I did. I did a real review and rated the blocker for each task I did with it. May 2008 seems like yesterday. One picture I see my son in it. He was all of a year and half then. He drove me home from his HS hockey practice last night. WTF I'm old!
  16. Unfortunately GSBB evaporated and took the pages of crap I wrote with it. Summary of the glove story: I was looking for gear with some yellow in it as I had picked up a set of yellow pads (MAF was wearing sport gold then) Eagle gear was cool. This blocker was blue and gold. I think I paid all of $20 for it shipped. Glove arrives and I notice that the name "Passmore" was engraved on it. I knew of Steve Passmore. But the colors were not Blackhawks colors. More digging, and I see he played for the Admirals and they were this color and he wore that same blocker model. Steve Passmore was a backup for his career in the NHL. Scrapped when needed. Seems like a cool guy. While making a review for the glove, I got a little creative. It was funny. People enjoyed it. Did a bunch of useless things with the glove and took pics. It was fun. Had to be spring 2008 maybe... Years later and here we are.
  17. Yeah; late spring. I sent Doug the infamous Passmore blocker. I had done a review of it on the GSBB where I used it for hockey, cutting the grass, baking, drinking, etc. Doug loved it. So while he was battling his ailments, I sent it to him to enjoy. He promised me that he would continue on the fun antics with the glove. Seriously, I wonder where the blocker is. I hope his family just didn't see that thing for junk it really is and toss it. Why I'm mad at ghost Doug for not getting it back to me. Or, better, do a proper review of it as a ghost. You're letting me down, Doug. It's not like you're busy.
  18. Is this for real? Wow. ASU opened the place. The black ceiling with the lights kinda makes it look bigger than it is. I assume the players will still use the standard locker rooms that every rink has. But the NHL has added space for the players to warm up and do other things now. So using the practice rink for that maybe makes sense. Teams have an army of support people from trainers to massage people. College teams travel pretty large too. I've been at the 80 rink at Lake Placid for regionals and the teams have stuff going on in every nook and cranny in that place. NHL team? You need the spare rink for the space. If you look at the model - there are numerous regular locker rooms. I'm thinking they will all be used but the spare rink will be where the team meets as a whole too.
  19. My cousin had a cat named "Spaz". I always thought that was perfect name for a cat that randomly just sprints out of the room.
  20. Damn you Bunny for dying. These reviews would have been internet gold. I miss you buddy. Get your ghost ass back to your house and send me the blocker!
  21. Here's the 4000 in action. I don't feel like going down to the garage...
  22. Here's one of my 6000s. And the elusive nash palmed 4000 that I'd love to own...
  23. More pics the better. I'll grab some pictures of what I have left tomorrow. Forgot about this. My T4000s are more worn though. Obviously they're all quite old now. I've never found that elusive nash palmed one that I always wished for. If I do, I'll un-retire to use that glove. My glove of choice the past few years was an all white T4000. The backhand nylon looks like hell. Don't care. It rules. I tried to migrate to the 6000 but never liked them. 4000 with a cheater is for the cool kids.
  24. I'll throw some good news in this - My 10 year old Sheppard had a huge tumor on her foot that developed this summer. Poor dog had a hard time walking. Vet punted her to hospital that could better handle it. $6000 later, it's gone. Not cancerous. She's kicking my other dogs asses again like old days. Worth every penny.
