  1. Really sorry to hear. Don't retire, you have to get recovery and rehab going for something, right? Get back on the ice at least one more time. End on your terms - or just 'haven't played in a while'. Retirement is for old people. 60 isn't old. Why aren't we suing the transit company and then ordering some fresh custom gear? Am I nuts? I see people here in Philly run as fast as possible to jump on a Septa bus after it hits a car. What's your excuse?

I always struggle finding shells that don't feel like I'm wearing tight pants.

I fish all summer up in no man's land, Maine. The eagles are loud.
  4. I think it's about time for some blurred lines I'll show myself out.

I think everyone in Canada just refers to people from Ottawa as 'a-holes'.
  6. That Bauer cage looks like something that a non hockey fan would draw up when drawing a goalie mask. Too many bars in wrong places. Pads on the wrong legs, etc. Does anyone know what mask Mike Liut wore in the day? It really looked off and made his nose look huge.
  7. Did you miss that the CCM logo is red? Plus - and its a big plus - there's a yellow triangle. Yellow. In-f-n sane.
  8. ObiWanJabroni - absolute great name! Killer great and awesome lid. Props to you.
  9. So the screw material isn't the same for all of their skates. Some plastic, some steel. Son's plastic one broke in warmups. Pro shop didn't stock new screws (why not?). So I drove to the local PIAS about 7 mins away. Bought a pair of used CCM skates with the steel screws, drove back in time to put them in my kid's skate before the end of the first period while he was sitting on the bench.
  10. Exactly same issue x2. Clear tape skills are clutch. Worst part is that my son is a 17 year old defenseman. Not the best thing to be with a broken toe cap. Junk.
  11. That's the Tuuk that 'reacts' to skating style, right? Hard to have guys in the NHL switch to something that flexes or whatever while skating. I'll look for it at youth levels first then these kids will eventually carry it onto the NHL. The new helmet is better than the 1. Again, hard to have NHL guys (creatures of comfort) change up their stuff. Same with youth carrying it into higher levels. My kids' teams mostly use the Bauer 150 helmet as they do team orders. The under $200 price for that helmet is a welcome addition to the nearly $1000 annual uniform cost per kid. The Hyperlite is closer to $400 I think.
  12. As a parent of kids that play. The CCM holders are always a problem. My kids won't wear CCMs anymore. I've had that wheel thing break too many times. One kid had the actual holder snap mid game. Also had the goofy toe cap/boot connection on the outside break on two other skates. Really crappy when these issues occur mid game after driving hours to the rink. I'm pretty handy with clear shin pad tape. No more CCMs for my boys though. I understand how the NHL guys don't bother with them either.
  13. They literally refer to their breaks by using Koho glove models. Koho stopped making those gloves over 20 years ago. I'm going to order a Bauer glove with a GM12 break. Bet.

I don't get the visor wearing amatuer players. Teeth and eyes don't grow back.
  15. Obvious way my gear is still alive nearly 25 years later. Better goalies wear out their gear making saves. Better goalie I am not.
  16. Sportmask Mage RS. I think off the top of my head. I had to request a L/XL when I ordered it. The decorating is for the two flags of Scotland. My 7000 pads are softer than a bed of feathers. Kids I play against are amazed how I don't give off rebounds.

Early Spring I weighed in at 290 lbs. Today I'm 215. I won a mountain bike race last week. Last time I raced was the year 2000. So I entered the lowest class and managed to outride the rest of the people.
  18. All Star Game action. Yes, the pads and blocker are Velocity 1s. The glove is a T4000 Legacy.
  19. I buy up all the used full right gear and destroy it. Someone has to end this madness of full right goalies. Comply or die!

Rayzilla lives? I miss the GSBB avitar.
  22. The older Grand Cherokees are ok because there is a market to keep them going. Some of the other SUVs from that era are pretty much forgotten. Added bonus is that Jeep fans have documented life keeping the Grands on the road so much, that any issue you have - likely there are dozens of videos on YT how to remediate/repair the issue. I dig older Monteros or even some of the Range Rover models - but keeping them alive is quite a challenge here in the states. Look around while you drive and see what is still tooling around on the highways. I still see a ton of the GMC Envoy/ Chevy TrailBlazers around. They're big and drive really nice (I had an 2004 Envoy). Their parts are available too. Not bad considering that GM retired that line in 2009. GM put out over 2 million of the 'GMT 360' line. They also sold these as Buick Rainier, Isuzu Ascender and Saab 9-7X. I always dug the Saab one. But the ignition in place of one of the cupholders kinda sucks.
