  1. Every car model sold has ones that disappoint people. Stinks. The 90s Grand Cherokee - the ZJ - was ground breaking at the time. But, like all new from scratch models, they are plagued with issues that come up. Later generations typically work those bugs out. I have a 1995 Wrangler today that I bought new. $12,500! No radio, no ac, no airbags or ABS. Safety? Sure. Still have it today and drive it as much as possible with 250k on it now. I've owned two 4 door wranglers, a 1999 Cherokee (shoe box), and some others.
  2. I'm in the same window as you, Rich. Dealing with house mortgage here and I need to drop off all loans. So I'm looking to trade in my newer GMC Sierra for something straight up. I was looking at the problematic Jeep Commander or a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Commander is cool looking as it's square and kinda luxury. But it eats gas and is a forgotten Jeep model these days. For me, the Grand Cherokee seems to be the better fit. Seems like the 2005-2010 ones are about that cheap.

    Daily Chit-chat

I was selected for my adult league all star game this year. Not too shabby considering I was retired since before covid until this past January. Add in that most guys are late 20s-mid 30s and my 46 year old ass is doing ok.
  4. Yeah, the 'regular skate' games are fun for a while then become work. If you stop going, they'll eventually call you back to play. The skaters want a challenge, so they won't come if there's some trashcan standing in net. I did these skates off an on for years. I get bored of the same dudes playing the same game every week. So, I don't miss them really. Fun part is that the skaters can take a few shifts off to rest then can leave when they want. You see the guys take their 'last shift' 80 minutes into it and exit the ice rather than go to the bench. Meanwhile you're stuck out there until the least few guys finally call it. It sucks.
  5. I pretty much only swap gloves. Especially after a bad game.
  6. I just watched the new Flash movie. If you run fast enough, you can go back in time and keep these going. But the past is like a bowl of spaghetti where timelines intersect. Maybe have Bauer keep the SK2000 alive and upgrade it rather than kill it off.
  7. How dare you say anything bad about this gear... I miss the days when goalie gear was changing so much year to year and things like this were released to the masses. Who will remember goalie gear from the past five years?
  8. The top of all our lists is easy: He caught that right in the pocket. Which one?
  9. I'd love to rock a new old sized T4000 glove. White with a nash palm. Considering that I'm still wearing V1 pads and use a V1 blocker, I really can't go back much further. Maybe a new composite version of some Hextall Vic sticks. Miss being able to launch a puck and also hack off player's legs near the crease.

    2023 HHoF Goalies

Does hockey have the 'WAR' stat like baseball? I think most of these goalies would have a high number considering that the game was different and we couldn't really name their backups on these teams. These guys played almost every game and were the names of the league for a long time.
  11. There are tons of youth tournaments in Nashville, so I have to imagine the rinks are all there and tons of dads who play. Congrats moving there. seems really nice.
  12. Yeah - I know the RVH and I teach it to the kids. But my body isn't a fan. I struggle getting my hips correct while positioning my legs. It's easier for my body and brain to drop to a VH. Also after playing roller for decades, I prefer to get up to my feet and move. I lost 60 pounds since March - so movement has been way easier.
  13. Classic as hell. When the lacrosse goal was called the 'Michigan', I used to reach over the net and push the player with my glove when they were scooping up the puck. Although today, most guys can pick the puck and not even slow down. In the day - they'd stop and concentrate on it.
  14. I used a VH on one kid last week. He told me after I covered the puck that I confused him how I was positioned. It's a 'VH-C' save. That's the VH Classic. My 16 year old son filled in with my team. First time I had one of my kids play in a game with me. Pretty cool.
  15. I play in a league now that pretty much everyone is younger than me. My gear is older than some of the skaters.
  16. I don't crap about either vehicle. My friend had a Murano. The sloped rear glass killed any room in the rear for carrying stuff. The floor was large enough but once you closed the rear hatch. As a square as heck Jeep guy, this was frustrating with her Murano. Looks big, right? Look how tight the roof is to the backseat.
  17. Oddly - I'd buy a car with 200k on it before anything between 150-200. Seems like that window is where things die. If its past 200 - odds are some has paid for and gotten through the repairs required period.

    2022 - 2023 Cup

I used to ban people for fun on the GSBB. Those were the days. Gave you some internet cred having some bans on your receord.
  22. Good info on SP making the NHL jerseys. Makes sense. When I was a kid, NHL teams would contract their own supplier for their game jerseys. The league allowed them to put their logo on too. The Flyers used Eagle Sportswear jerseys. You can see the 'Eagle' name stitched into the back right bottom hem. Yes, that's Tim Kerr in a Jofa. Ruberti's is still in business in West Chester too. I think the son of the founder just does printing now.
