  1. Website for retail store employee education on Bauer products. Completing all the modules gives your access to discount codes. There's a ton of store employees on here, it seems!
  2. Hello all, For sale is a brand new, never used CCM pro stock goalie pant. Asking $240 USD shipped (what I paid on SLS) from sunny, waterless southern California. Shipping to Canada will be additional! HPG12A, size SR Large. Black with a white/red/white stripe on the side. Issued to the Portland Winterhawks. Bought these on SLS and they seem to fit a little bigger than my CCM HPG11Ks in the same size. Protection seems on par with my CCM HPG11K AHL Texas Stars pro stock pant and a little beefier than a Vaughn SLR3 Pro Carbon pant that I briefly owned.
  3. So thanks to you, I ran out and bought a pair today. It makes perfect sense not to offer this online since they absolutely need to be baked and fitted by someone who knows what they are doing. Bummer not to save as much money as I would have with our Bauer University discount. I'm big on trying something before I knock it so here we go! If by box you mean skate box, I don't think this is the case. I believe Bauer sends one set of heat protective gloves, toe sleeves, shim pads, cooling packs and a refrigerator to each store - at least that's the case at my store. There's nothing in our Konekt boxes except the skates and liners. We thought one of our employees mistakenly left the toe sleeves inside another customer's skate but found it in time to get them on my feet before my skates came out of the oven. Depends on other characteristics of your foot, too. I scanned in as a 7 using the Bauer foot scanner, which has a Konekt sizing option under the Goalie scan option. The 7 liner felt comfortable but I could not get my foot into the 7 boot as it did not have enough volume for my instep, a common problem I've had with Bauer for a long time. I sized up to a 8. The 8 liner felt a little long, but after baking, it felt as if my toes were perfectly at the end of the skate. Even my True Customs have maybe a half-size too much room in toes, so this felt really good. Volume-wise, it was still fairly tight, but I bought them and will see how they are on the ice. For science.
  4. We got all our stuff for the Konekt skates - gloves, shims, toe sleeves, cold packs. I broke one of the handles on the drawer for the display. Sold a pair today though!
  5. GoalieMonkey is doing a Summer Sale until Tuesday, July 26, 2022. Looks like no coupon code is needed. SR Pads are limited to older Warriors and Vaughns and some Bauer 2S Pros. No catchers at all. Only INT blockers, no SR. Only skates available are older Bauer - 1X family. Bunch of Warrior sticks.
  6. You guys get gloves? But seriously, you guys have gloves for Trues? I know we're supposed to be getting gloves for the Konekt, but we've got nothing for True.
  7. IIRC the steps are as follows: Boot is baked for about 7 minutes. Then liner is baked in the oven with the boot for another 4 minutes. You'll put the store-supplied toe sleeves on your feet, put the liner on, and put the skate on. I believe the bottom buckle should only be done on the loosest setting and the ankle should be done as tight as possible. Then the store employee will strap some cool packs onto the boot to help it cool faster. You could probably bake your second liner and repeat the process with a cold already-formed-to-your-foot boot.
  8. Heard back from Bauer that re-mounting is something that they do not recommend doing and it is not something that has been tested. They will test it at a later date though. Since I'm a retail employee, I hesitate to give anyone advice that goes contrary to the manufacturer's guidelines. If a customer buys the skate and mounting it goes sideways, he's going to get mad at me and I don't wanna get yelled at!
  9. Not 100% but I think EF4 was built in China while Axis, EF5 and Axis 2 are built in Vietnam.
  10. A co-worker asked this question to the Bauer reps in our store because he was thinking of taking the holders off and putting roller chassis on it. Reps were unsure if it could be done. Now that we're closer to launch, I can try to see if Bauer has any new information on that.
  11. 100% pulling this out of my ass, but it wouldn't surprise me if Warrior is simply sitting on these slide plates until they can get G6 on the shelves. There's probably a ton of people who might not upgrade to G6 if they can throw a slide plate on their G4/G5/GT/GT2.
  12. Maybe the player version did? The TF7 goalie skates are new for 2022.
  13. $899 USD at my local store. Is that from Store HQ? I went to my store to check these out thinking I could bake 'em, but my supe told me no purchase, no bake.
  14. It's 100% Wonger's set. Coopaloop is right.
  15. I think it was a question that needed to be examined and answered. Since US and custom Mach have the same knee and very similar calf plates, the only real difference is the skin. Putting on 3M tape changes up the skin variable and I feel it confirms that the skin is a big reason why it slides differently. I can say that I have heard (albeit from another employee who spoke to a customer) that his retail Mach slides worse than his US. If my store had a demo program I would have jumped on it long ago to figure this out...
  16. Not seeing anything. Someone leak Proto pics?
  17. All of my physics knowledge comes from Hollywood disaster movies.
  18. Wonder if this WEBM file will work. Come across to get a piece with the blocker. The gear is pretty too. Mach.webm
  19. I can't tell from the pictures - is it one cord that is laced all the way around? Or multiple cords? If it's one, a failure where the single cord under tension is cut seems like it could be catastrophic as opposed to a single cord. I'm imagining a single cord failing and that whole single cord under tension unraveling and slicing you up pretty good. The wire is made from Dyneema, if I'm reading correctly, which is similar to Kevlar. I know you need some pretty sharp scissors to handle Kevlar. Would this stuff slice you up worse/deeper than a shard of steel?
  20. Wonder what would happen if the wire snaps. It looks like it's under tension. Would it snap and whip a goalie on the face? In the eye? And how would we know when to replace the wire?
  21. Paging @Steph Lawa to end this once and for all.
