  1. Sweet pads, fellow baby blue enthusiast! I suspect the smaller calf landing comes with all Custom pads - Pro and Pro Custom. The phrasing that Bauer used when I asked them was that the "NHL/IIHF plate is used for all custom orders". Bolded for emphasis by me. I also noticed that they don't slide as well as Ultrasonic. Personally, I like my Ultrasonics a lot more than these for a number of reasons and have been yearning to go back... I'll keep at it though.
  2. Are you on GGSU on Facebook? You'll get a lot more eyeballs on those pads if you post there.
  3. Those pages for Mach came up about two weeks before the Mach gear actually launched... so we should make a mental note to check the website in about four weeks.
  4. Personally, I'd go EF4. I think the Bauer is a little bit lighter, but the EF4 stick is brand new, which counts for a lot, IMO. Unless you know how much use the 2X Pro has really seen, I'd never go with a used stick. EF4 should be quite a bit softer which would be beneficial if your son likes to play the puck or wants to develop that part of his game.
  5. Ordered some Axis 2 on Friday 6/10. Heard it would be 12 weeks plus. We'll see...
  6. CCM stuff has gone up previously. Some of their pricing has stayed the same. Some stuff has jumped up like crazy. I had some price lists dating back to 2021 launch and compared it to today's pricing via HockeyMonkey/GoalieMonkey. Lookit that CCM 390 Player wheeled backpack. Jesus Christ. Description Price, 6/12/2022 2021 Target Retail Price % Increase CCM Pro SR Goalie Pants 369.99 329.99 12.1% CCM 1.9 SR Goalie Pants 269.99 229.99 17.4% CCM Goalie Wheeled Bag 44 284.99 209.99 35.7% CCM Pro Carry Goaliee Bag 42 119.99 109.99 9.1% CCM EFlex5 Pro Stick SR 259.99 259.99 0.0% CCM EFlex5.9 Stick SR 169.99 149.99 13.3% CCM 390 Player Wheeled Backpack 253.99 144.99 75.2% CCM 24in Sport Carry Bag 86.99 49.99 74.0% CCM 350 Deluxe Carry Bag 37 105.99 84.99 24.7% CCM Eflex 5 Pro Chest/Arms SR 599.99 599.99 0.0% CCM Axis Pro SR Mask Certified 949.99 949.99 0.0% CCM Axis 1.9 SR Mask Certified 479.99 449.99 6.7%
  7. Hopefully someone else can chime in too, but I don't really notice it. Maybe the pad is heavier? But I don't notice the seal being better or anything. There are internal plastic brackets in the calf now. if you go custom, you can spec without them if you wanted.
  8. The knee feels the same size, but the thigh definitely feels taller. I am having some trouble closing the five-hole with the straighter profile. The calf surface on mine is more of the Ultrasonic style instead of the stock retail shape. I don't notice much of a difference over Ultrasonic, except I think these may slide slightly worse? I am coming back from Covid and a hiatus of about 6 weeks so I could just be out of shape.
  9. Put an order in today. The customizer let me put white logos on white weave. We'll see if it flies. Going with a 580 for shits and giggles, but also because I get so many customers asking what a 580 feels like, it would be good to have one on hand to show them.
  10. You could opt for the CRS straps, and put in the boot clip (circled below) using the screw, nuts and the T-shaped leather strap and and use something like the Kenesky pad carrying strap. Clip each end of the pad carrying strap to the pads' boot clips and you're good to go. Just skip putting the actual CRS strap on the other side.
  11. Tried on a Axis 2.9 catcher at the store the other day. I thought it felt awful. Hated the lack of finger stalls. And the price! It costs $309.99 USD compared to $289.99 for the Bauer 3X/M5 Pro or $279.99 for Warrior G6. Unfortunately for CCM, I think customers will try it on, think "Ew" and look for something else. I have a feeling these will be a tough sell.
  12. Looks like stock Axis 2 gear is starting to roll in: https://www.goaliemonkey.com/new-items.html https://goalie.purehockey.com/c/ccm-goalie-equipment?sort=first_purch_dt_desc&pg=1
  13. I had a lot of small chips on my EF4. But no big chips like your friend is seeing.
  14. So the Excel customizer that I have shows a different palm comes if you select the 2PC blocker. The regular Hyperlite blocker has the "Vapor Hyperlite Palm" but the Vapor Hyperlite 2 Piece blocker has the "Vapor Hyperlite 2 PC Palm". The Tech Pack/spec code for the XL version of the Hyperlite is BAU-CUS-VAPHLBG-001 while the Tech Pack/spec code for the XL version of the 2PC is BAU-CUS-VAPHL2BG-001. So Bauer's front-facing systems aren't clearly showing that there is a slight difference in palms.
  15. With the 591 break being what's going to be offered stock, and being billed as an improved 590, that's pretty much what's going to happen!
  16. Again, you have some bad info. EF4 was the last set of gear that Lefevre designed for CCM and built for the pros. Lefevre only designed the Pro-level gear. Any SR-level pricepoint gear was built by CCM. Any design choices to change the pro-level builds and bring the cost of the materials down was probably down to CCM. Any quality issues is on CCM as they ran the factory, not Lefevre.
  17. None of those gloves that you mentioned are truly Lefevre gloves. Also, the Premier 2.9 js not the entry level catcher, that would be the Premier 2.5. All of the gloves that you are talking about are overseas SR or overseas SR Pro. Not the same as a Canadian-made Lefevre.
  18. No new models for 2022. Similar line up as chest protectors: X3 Pro+ (SR only) X3 Pro (SR only) X3 E+ X3 E
  19. Basically E and E+ are SR. For gloves and blockers, it goes: G6 Pro+ and G6.1 Pro+ G6 E+ and G6.1 E+. For leg pads, it goes: G6 Pro+ G6 E+ For chests, it goes: X3 Pro+ X3 Pro X3 E+ X3 E For pants, it goes: X3 Pro+ X3 E+ X3 E
  20. It appears their website is allowing customers to order gear. Black only.
  21. Warrior G6 - a Dick's Sporting Goods Exclusive? I don't see these for sale anywhere else. Weird thing is that they do not have any sizes listed for the leg pads.
  22. Warwick would be disqualified from the running if you need a certified mask - I don't see it listed at HECC.org At the top price point, almost everything should be a decent product, just have to make sure its the right fit. Personally, I would stay away from the Bauer NME VTXs. They've just been replaced with the new Bauer NME One, but I used to see VTXs with cracked chins all the time in my store awaiting warranty. Per Bauer, the NME One is supposed to have fixed that, but it still seems pretty flimsy. Shell felt kinda soft in my hands. If I were to go with something off the shell for my (hypothetical) son, I'd give the Bauer 960 a good look. If you have a credit card with a high enough limit, you could conceivably buy all of the top-end masks in whatever sizes and try them on at home, then ship back the ones that didn't fit. Do it fast enough and the refunds should hit before the credit card statement is finalized and you'd only be out of pocket the mask you kept and some shipping fees. I think Pure Hockey is pretty generous in providing a free return shipping label, but I've never purchased from them so I cannot say for sure.
  23. Bunch of CCM markdowns today all over. Pure Goalie Perani's CCM Direct Excuse the player gear mixed in on the Perani's and CCM links. It didn't look like any of the CCM markdowns stacked with the PureGoalie MDWSAVE20 coupon code, but I encourage you to experiment!
  24. Is he still in the JR size or is his head fitting in SR sizes? Does the mask need to be HECC certified? Or CSA certified? The Sportmask T3 is the higher end version of the X8, and according to the Sportmask website, both are available in (presumably SR) XS, S, M, L and XL sizes. But the HECC (assuming you're in the US) says that only the S, M and L sizes are certified. Not many quality options for high-end protection at JR size. Coveted Masks has JR-sized options (906 and A5) and they are not plastic. Bauer and CCM won't have as nice masks as the smaller manufacturers in terms of materials used at the JR size. Sportmask/Coveted/OTNY will have fiberglass/Kevlar/maybe CF builds.
  25. Sounds your toe bridge was an aftermarket mod. You bought your pads used, yes? He's pointing out that you are incorrectly implying that a 4-hole toe bridge has been something Bauer has been putting on off-the-shelf retail pads since 2S Pro when that is not true.
