  1. For those that have had the buckle break, contact the warranty department at Bauer and they'll get you a new one. I've got one on the way now. Looks like it just screws in, so it should be a really easy replacement. They want the old buckle returned to them.
  2. CCM Blockade with the one-piece cuff that is pretty much standard nowadays. This came out in 2004 or 2005. The Reebok Premier 3 came out in 2009 or so. It wasn't really until the P3 came out that one-piece cuffs became a thing.
  3. Try calling back and see if they can do a transfer and if they can hold it for you. Might not work because transfers are typically from retail location to retail location, but it's worth a shot.
  4. That's interesting. I thought CCM owning Step Steel and Bauer's lawsuit would have put an end to that. I assumed EQMs simply bought a ton of steel before the supply ran out.
  5. You're right, but they did, once upon a time. Which is why CarGuy says they are very hard to find.
  6. The Warrior Nutt Hutt The Warrior Shogun w/ Nipple Grip There was a Kronik stick and MacDaddy stick too.
  7. Pros: Easy for the parents to put on the kid's feet. Cheap. Cons: You won't be able to get the velcro as tight as you'd want on your kid's foot. Cheap.
  8. I can pop it back in, but it can easily pop back out. When reinserting, it doesn't feel like it snaps into a slot or anything, so I'm not sure it'll hold up when re-attached to the rack. Didn't take a close look inside as I saw it after a back to back game so I was pooped. I suspect I'll have to go with JB Weld or some similar epoxy to fix it. Well said. I echo the thoughts on everything feeling more natural.
  9. Just had the same issue with my skate. Used maybe 4 times? 5?
  10. Just got an e-mail from TheHockeyShop.com - Save 20 to 50% off. Looks like no coupon codes are necessary. Prices are all in CAD so I'm not sure how good the deals are. They seem to have a lot of stuff, though! Good hunting!
  11. It wouldn't surprise me if they thought of it. And it also wouldn't surprise me if they were aware of the rollerblade comparisons that people would bring up and so opted to go with the current system to try to avoid those comparisons. All of these thoughts, courtesy of My Ass™.
  12. Monkey is doing a Buy 1, Get 50% off clearance goalie sticks. Must use coupon code BOGOSTK50. Stock is mostly limited to Warrior for SR-sized sticks. INT has some other brands available. It's an OK deal. They increased the price of a single stick so you're getting the same deal as other sales, like the 4th of July Sale. During the 4th of July Sale, a single Warrior V1 Pro+ was $176.23 after coupon code, before any sales tax and shipping. Now, a single V1 Pro+ is $234.98. If you buy two, it'll work out to $176.24 each. This presumably holds true for all the other sticks.
  13. Store should have them. They do not come with the skates.
  14. $359 USD for the top-end Hazardous PX. Insane. But they (and the Catalyst line) look great.
  15. I agree that the loops need some work. Easy for them to get spun around and tweak your preferred setting. Also, I've got a really high instep, so if I have the bottom loop on the loosest setting and connected to the loosest/closest rack setting, I have issues with the loop falling off the rack during play. So I have to make it a little tighter and just suck up the slight pain. Also having some issue with that bottom rack shifting a little - it likes to rotate a little left and right. Not sure if it did that out of the box. I've also taking some pucks off the toe and don't feel anything. The padding in the toe of the liner makes a big difference, I think. Yes, yes and yes. Performance is excellent. Still dialing in the right foot. Rebaked them with the instep shims and that seems to be okay now (not perfect), but had some rubbing on the inner ankle bone. Never fit into a stock Bauer previously. But I'm happy enough to be ready to sell my True customs.
  16. I think it's too reductionist to try to compare a specific Bauer pad to a specific CCM pad. Both Bauers lines are built for the butterfly; they just cater to goalies with different preferences. My Mach catcher felt quite a bit stiffer than my Ultrasonics straight out of the box, despite similar specs between the two (reinforced tee + pro palm). I put the Mach in a baseball glove steamer for a couple minutes and also alternated between tying it shut while I slept and working it in during the day. Now it opens and closes much better. You should be fine with the heat gun as long as you don't focus any particular spot for too long (and depending on the amount of heat that the gun generates).
  17. You'll have to select the Pro Custom option in order to do it but: Construction: Hyperlite Pad Specs -> Flex: You can choose any flex you want, but Hyperlite is the softest. Pad Specs -> Knee -> Knee Block: Whatever you want. You wouldn't be able to spec a Surpeme-style stiffer boot, though. I believe your 2S Pro are considered Stiff - same stiffness level as Mach.
  18. You can do whatever. I just leave the liner in the skate and put it on like a traditional skate.
  19. Hi all, My Ultrasonic set (as seen in my long-term review) is for sale. Set is in pretty good condition with a lot of life left. Minor wear on the blocker's finger protection. Palm is in great shape, no rips or tears. Minor fraying on the lace on the perimeter of the catcher. Some wear on the toe bindings and on the thighrise binding. See pictures below. Shipping out of southern California. Looking for $550 USD shipped. These are priced to go. Canadian friends, how about $575 USD? I will post these on GGSU/SLS but at a higher price - TGN members, take advantage of this price! Specs are as follows: Leg Pads: Size Small - similar to a CCM 33" Ultrasonic pads, skinned as Vapor 2X Stabilislide knee No knee wing Softer, flatter Vapor boot. Stock thigh flex (Ultrasonic/Mid) Velcro boot strap Pro Laces courtesy of @BadAngle41 Catcher: Size SR Supreme break (similar to CCM 600) Ultrasonic blocker, skinned as Vapor 2X Pro palm stiffness Reinforced tee pocket Quattro Nash Nylon lace pocket and tee Add 3mm Poron to Palm Base Blocker: Size SR Ultrasonic blocker, skinned as Vapor 2X Added thumb pillow
  20. Before you put them in the oven, go back to your dry fit. You can twist the the top strap to do small adjustments to make it tighter and looser. You can also flip over the top "rack" portion and adjust the rack with the screws on the backside. Best to do this now because you will have no time when they are pulled out of the oven. You'll be cranking that top strap during the bake so you should get a good tight fit at the ankle. I'm coming from True Customs too and I definitely agree that these have less negative space all around. The shims will create more space rather than eliminate space.
