  1. Bits of both. If it fits you bang on the mobility is fantastic, and the nice part about the arms is pucks fly off and up and out on them is the one thing I noticed when I wore it. The arms aren't significantly more heavy than your traditional unit, but they are a well protected piece (vs my ccm arms which have a lot of gaps and don't bend all the way). I will have to agree. I tried a G2 Sr. in medium and the extensions really help get the proper fit in the arms, whereas with my 1st gen I had to go to a large to get proper fit in the body but then the arms were too long.
  2. I'm guessing instead of with the G2 chest where there was G2 Pro / G2 Classic for those who wanted the different arm design, the G2 classic has moved onto become the RGT? Maybe because the arm was too long for me, but on the 1st gen i wasn't a huge fan of the robocop arms (love the body unit though - currently in Ritual Pro w/ CCM arms laced in right now).
  3. Just finished my head mold! time to get ready to send it in... did you guys just put it in a box and off it went? or any filler to keep it from flattening out in transit? Thank you. Can't wait for this mask.
  4. @cwarnar Nice! Was it extra cost to go with black cage? I'm almost leaning back to cateye for that classic look...
  5. Though I should note that Tim Thomas is a favourite of mine, but you do raise a valid point. Likely going standard white cage.
  6. Currently chatting with Michel and planning to get my order in next paycheque here.... Main questions now are: Cheater or cateye... & Gloss or Matte Black?
  7. Shucks, Black Friday sales got me. Well looks like I'll be joining Team Warrior again (had G2's but a little too stiff for me). Full set of 34+1.5 G3's TGC Chicago colours. Thanks to @TGC-Rance for the great service as always.

@TheGoalNet Thanks. Looks taller as well. Also bit the bullet:
  9. After 3 skates, lack of chin protection has me concerned. Have an SM50 sitting around so here it is... Now I'd love to eventually get my hands on an SM90

Well looks like i've gotten someone to buy my S190's and line up some X900's. Are you familiar if overall sizing will be similar? I may or may not be on limited time so not sure if i have time to properly fit it in store. Not sure if it's just me but the boot looks shorter. Also let us know how you like the new steel.. intrigued to know how it compares to others.

I'm hyperbolizing a bit, but around the bunion and ankle it'll hurt in a normal shoe again. @TheGoalNet I tie my skates Scrivens style. I skip the 3rd eyelet from the top and the top 2 eyelets are done inside out to prevent lace bite as well, and that helped for a bit, but the pain has come back. I want to nip this in the bud sooner or later since I rely quite extensively on skating in my game as I don't have much of a butterfly at all.

This kind of discourse needs to be pushed more. Unfortunately I picked up S190's last year after being in One100's which were extremely comfortable for years. It's been a full year of playing 2-4x a week and the skates haven't really "broken in". I'm getting blisters and bruising on my bunions and inner ankle bone... That said the reps told me the same thing "Supreme will fit the same." And of course to follow up on this statement, I wonder if the X900's will fix my woes. My feet are getting destroyed by my S190's...
  13. He used to be quite active on GSBB a few years ago. He hasn't really made any masks for a number of years now. He was based out of northern BC when he was cranking out masks. This was a one-off I asked of him a few years ago which was essentially a spare unfinished shell he had, I asked him to chop off the chin to make a combo. I believe he's quite busy these days and not really cranking out any masks unless you ask him nicely. http://goaliestore.com/board/forum/equipment/equipment-forum/99834-official-dremask-thread https://www.facebook.com/groups/154772601215694/ http://goaliestore.com/board/forum/equipment/equipment-forum/3158796-my-new-dremask-has-arrived
  14. Dremask "Sparta", full Kevlar. I pulled out of storage. Thinking of slapping a Maltese kit into this bad boy and going to start using it. Olympia composites or an OTNY made HM30 on there. I forgot which is on it. Also any tips on how to center the cage?
  15. 2 pics my friend got of me at my game at Edmonton Northlands Colliseum (where the oilers played for years till they moved to their new barn last year). I somehow grabbed the wrong (backup) blocker instead of my usual one... Yes I made the save on the second pic, sent the puck up and out with my stick.
  16. Picked up new LT98 jock and used LT88 pants in medium (I played in August and part of September in small LT88s - loved the pants and a bit too small, sold to a buddy). Looking forward to using a new jock for the first time in 8 years. My old one was held together by stick tape and was pretty much wet cardboard with a cup in it at this point. I also have fed my garter belt with knee pads into the unit replacing the elastic it came with so that everything is more streamlined (reduces chances of me leaving my jock at home too...).
  17. @TheGoalNet the sr CCM ab500 arms. They honestly don't bend that well. I reattached the elbow floater elastics at a different point (on the arm itself vs the floater) for better mobility but sacrificed some protection since a puck can get caught in between the outer and inner elbow parts (hasn't happened yet knock on wood).
  18. Then my job here is done I've had a Brown 2300 and 2200. Didn't like either, don't think i'll go that route. They're tanks for sure, but I just can't take the heat and how clunky the arms are. As for Passau, still quite a bit more. The Ritual I acquired in a package deal and after flipping the other pieces I essentially got the unit for free. Arms were cheap, and I love just making the unit mine. Maybe one day i'll go that route, but I've tried a propack unit on and it wasn't noticeably different (aside from the arm mobility) than my unit. Also to note arms are laced in with shock cord for that extra bit of mobility too.
  19. The 3rd party hosting is from the old days of GSBB. I can redownload and re-upload if needed. I play 2-5x a week. If i find a part not working out I will work to swap it out. The Vision was as close to a perfect unit as you can get, but it wore down quite a lot over the years, and I got an amazing deal on the Warrior Unit and I love how modular it is. I always study new C/A's and what they have and what I can do to incorporate those features into my unit. I intend to eventually re-do the strapping on the unit to 2" elastic on velcro or larger buckles. As well as fine better forearm coverage on the unit (i love how it's implemented on most newer units now). The CCM arms have been rebuild as well for better mobility (elbow floaters moved up, and changed out some of the nylon straps for elastics, elbow cups attached via shock cord).
  20. This thread will feature several chest protectors I have used over the years. I'm never one to leave my units stock. Looking back, I'm almost ashamed at how bad some of them are though.... lol. http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q207/Viettxboii/FxCam_1310586846864.jpg http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q207/Viettxboii/FxCam_1311364135719.jpg http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q207/Viettxboii/FxCam_1311364135719.jpg Ended up using the Vision unit unmodded for about 3 years. Then got around to opening up the arms and shoulder floaters and beefing them up, as well as adding the wrist straps from the old Brown 2200 over. If you all haven't been able to find out yet... i'm a little mod happy... Added a belly mod (in the navy) onto the Vision. This piece clips in via slik clips and doesn't hinder mobility at all. Inspired by the LT98's design. Might re-add this to my Warrior unit at a future date. Used the Warrior Unit with the CCM floaters and CCM arms for awhile, but my (bad worksmanship) stitching came apart and was too lazy to redo it so i just velcroed the stock floaters back in. My main issue is the bottom flap would always fold in on itself and catch on the belly blocks. I solved this by running a lace through the loop on the body as well as the back of the floater (see pic with the CCM floater where i attached bottom of the floater the same method) in order to keep the floater from shifting too much compared to stock - this must have been an issue since they removed the bottom part completely on the floaters found on the G2/GT chest protectors. Mckenney arms were more mobile than the CCM arms, but much less protective, so i moved back to the ccm arms. This is how the unit sits as of now. I don't Have any active intention on changing it soon. Protective and mobile as is. The white pad is to have the floater sit more square and to soften up rebounds hitting me in the shoulders for an easier smother.
  21. @TheGoalNetAnyone who knows me, will know that I have always rocked a frankenchesty. This C/A has gone through several revisions... Maybe i'll start up a preliminary thread on how much it has gone through in the last year....
  22. Didn't manage to add this. Took this picture at one if the away dressing rooms for Northlands Colliseum (former rexall place where the oilers played up till start of last season), the other night. Mask: Bauer 961 w/ Maltese Blocker: Simmons UL5 w/ new waffle face, finger protection from Battram Catcher: Brians Subzero 6.0 C/A: Warrior Ritual Pro Sr L w/ CCM AB500 Sr M Arms, beefed shoulder protection (taken from McKenney 890). Pants: McKenney 890 Sr L Knee Pads: Warrior Ritual X Pro w/ Reebok Garter Belt Skates: Bauer S190 Sz 7 w/ Tydan Steel.
  23. You would very well know the root of those issues... that are still sadly prevalent to this day. I just feel like they have to continually apologize to their customers day after day for constant delays. As for the prolaces with the lace covering - this is a similar idea to what Monster had with their sheath, just done in a cleaner fashion, and allows for a more traditional appearance.
  24. Good choice. Did you make it out to the meet out here in Edmonton last week when Matthew was in town? Really liked the 313 myself.
