So I got an answer from the shop and apparently the GT2 pads don't come with the toe tie elastics. No big deal really. So after messing with them a bit and tried them on with the Warrior knee pads, I tweaked them some and I think the best set-up for knee pads will be with the knee strap crossed down to the calf wrap. My Pro-Lace set-up might be a nuisance with the pads not rotating back squared when getting up from my butterfly. More testing to come.

The boot strap is there, and they came with skate laces for toe ties. No elastic straps. I'll contact the shop.

Forgot to mention this... I'm 6'2. Carrying the bag feels better in the sense that I don't have to slightly lean/bend to the opposite side to keep my balance like with a traditional bag. It does feel a little awkward walking with it but I still need to figure it out. If you're a shorty, I suggest talking with John as he might be able to customise the bag to your proper height/size so you can also take advantage of this product. Also, I do not pack my pads in my gear bag. I find it takes up too much room (mine are 35") and makes it even heavier, especially after a game. It might be different for you smaller goalies. Thanks

I received my GT2 SR pads this week. Here is what I've noticed and a few questions I have: Holy friggin' light! This will be great for my health and game, really lolll. I can see why so many people said they are legit 11", as the outer roll bar is very wide, almost double that of my (FOR SALE ) Reactor 9000s. The thigh rise is so thin, it's surprising! Going from my Smith 1000 tapered boot to the Reactor 6000 slightly narrower tapered boot to my Reactor 9000 square boot to now the seemingly VERY tapered boot of the GT2, the difference is quite noticeable. I expected the toe bridge attachment to be more "substantial". Lacing in my modified Toe Hook lace system didn't quite look right (working on some ideas), but the Pro Laces seem to be more what works at the moment. The on ice test will determine that. The SR knee pads that they came with seem reasonable in protection (of course not pro) but again, on ice testing will determine that. I will be comparing them to my Bauer 1X and Brian's Optik knee pads. Now, looking at the outer knee wing attachment, how many of you moved it out to the next setting? What knee pads are you using that forced you to do that? It would be nice if the neoprene strap could be adjustable like the regular elastics on other brands. How come their patent toe tie elastic isn't included with the pad, even if they installed a mock toe bridge? At least the option of trying it would of been nice. Can't wait to give these a try

For a good while now I've been eyeing this bag for the main reason of space, meaning fitting through standard doors for all the older less modern and less accommodating rinks out there. The only option I had left was to give it a shot myself. So, yes folks, this is a world premier review!! This is a heavy duty quality product. It feels like it and weighs like it. John and his team put quality work and materials in everything they create. This bag is no exception. I'm sure you could save a little weight if he would put out a canvas or nylon version of it, but you would lose out on the water repellent option. Not a big thing if you have a closed trunk. Speaking of trunks, as you might notice, the shape and dimensions of the bag can mean a little adjustment in how you will load it in the vehicle. I put it in the back seat. It sits a little high but not enough to obstruct my view when looking into the rear view mirror. In this pic, I'm showing the side end pocket. I decided to pack it with my skates, emergency/shower bag, laces, water bottle and shower flip flops. There is room for more like jersey and socks. You could put in your gloves instead or whatever else you think makes sense to you. This is to show the width of the velcro shoulder strap. This is giving you a perspective of how large it is. It's thick enough as well that you can feel the cushion on your shoulder when all is set and ready to carry. This is a quick look at how I set my gear in it. For reference, my c/a is a TGC P1 in Large and my pants are McKenney 855 in XL. So c/a on the bottom left. Within it is my jock, garter belts and my mask. Over top of that are my pants and withing them my knee pads. On the bottom left is my jersey, socks, skate towel, bag containing my under gear clothes and shower towel. Over top are my gloves. Of course you might pack it another way, I'm still figuring it out, but this is the simplest on the fly method i came up with for myself. Important note: If I were to put in my GT2 Pro c/a, which is bulkier than my P1, I might have the c/a on one side and the pants on the other and work around that. The depth of the bag when laying down is not your standard 18"-20". No, this is not my new foot modelling job portfolio picture ... It's simply to further show you the depth of the bag while laying flat. Note the large grommets enabling ample breathing of your gear. Great for you bad stinkers out there lolll. Finally, here is a so so shot of the bag empty. I adore the fact of the very large U-shape opening, which has a strong split 2 way zipper (unzips left and right respectively). Done. Very impressive to say the least. And entertaining

Vaccine or no vaccine, you can still get sick, you can still transmit.The only real difference is how sick you get and then again, it can still vary per case and per individual. It seems that most of the vaccinated crowd think that being inoculated stops the virus in its tracks, period. That is not so. Some common sense prevention still needs to be taken like washing hands, wearing masks and keeping your distance if sick or have an immune compromising condition. Whether you are vaccinated or not, everyone's choice is personal and should be respected. We don't need extremists on either sides. And taking into account my first paragraph, to see our governments impose a "privilege/VIP" like statue (Quebec and soon possibly Canada) with vaccination inner-provincial passports and allowing large crowd gatherings ONLY if you are vaccinated is illogical and an oxymoron in itself. Please understand that this in MY personal observation and opinion. I'm not looking to start a war or point fingers or accuse anyone or groups and their personal choices. I love you if you are, I love you if you are not. The real fight isn't over.

It's a 36" tower. Used but lots of life left. Scuffs and scratches but no tears. Some rust on middle wheel but doesn't affect its mobility. Inside is clean, all zippers, buckles and straps are in top shape. Missing the pads bungee straps but you can get them at Grit Hockey. It better suits a smaller goalie (intermediate and adult small/medium gear) and not my Large/XL gear. Asking 100$ firm. Cash or e-transfer. Gatineau/Ottawa area.

I'm looking for a link to an old 1930s-50s outdoor goalie practice from Europe that circulated a lot a year or 2 ago on the web. It's not Tretiak but some Polish guy or something. Any leads?

Bought new, used a dozen times. 35+1, amazing shape, puck Mark's and a little wear on inside boot seam (see in pics). All straps included except toe ties. Comes with never used 9000 knee pads. Asking 400$ CAD. E-transfer accepted. I'm in the Gatineau/Ottawa area. DM me if interested.

I didn't get pro, not there yet financially. For pro Warrior gear I would go full custom colours and make the catcher a single T.

Brian's making a huge reemergence this season?

Here is an example of paddle length discrepancy between brands and within same brands. All the sticks pictured are listed as 25. The first 2 sticks are from JRZ, same model, just different color. The 3rd pic is a Warrior VR2. There seems to be a 1/2 inch difference between both the JRZ sticks and a full inch difference with the Warrior stick. This seems to follow the same issues we face with leg pad length from one brand to another. I wish there was an established standard to avoid said discrepancy when ordering/buying sticks.

How/where did you score the pants?

This rang something to me. Lefevre was using the space/machinery/staff that CCM had to offer. I don't think True had planned properly for the transfer and maybe overestimated the Lefevre following. On another note, how much control on things does Lefevre really have? After all True is the main investor and they surely have a large say in what happens or not.

Clear lexan thigh boards. Never got used to the idea.

True, it felt odd but good all at once. I didn't have issues catching which pleased me.
