@SaveByRichter35 Yeah, that would be really expensive. Trust me, The XPG1 pant will make you forget about any other pant. These are tanks!

Will the XPG1 have a lace in tab for kneeguards?   I have a pair of 870 pants by McKenney that are ten years old and I haven't found anything better than them

My wife helped me make my head mold yesterday which was... an interesting exercise!

Anyone have any tips on mailing this thing? I understand he wants to send through Canada Post, but more interested in how folks actually packed up their molds.

I shoved a bunch of plastic grocery bags in the mold, then packed it with standard air based packing materials around the mold

@motowngoalie - did you go full kevlar?

Wondering how much materials impact the weight of the mask.

    Thanks!

From Michel "Now here are the differences between material , it will be obviously in weight , full Kevlar is definately lighter than fiberglass or the fiberglass/Kevlar mix , also no ringing or almost not with full Kevlar and finally , full Kevlar is a definitely more durable material than fiberglass , in other words , if you put both masks in the same game situation let’s say during 2 years , the full Kevlar mask will look much better or in better shape for sure , it's not me or the way I built masks , this is the reality, no matter how to use or work with these two materials, the result will always be the same . It's hard to compare both materials cause Kevlar is such a higher quality material , it's almost unfair for the kevlar to compare both , they are not in the same ''league'' . I dot use carbon fiber cause it's simply useless in masks , it only increase the cost and not good at all for the impact ."

Full Kevlar is around 2.2Lbs I believe

  6. I never introduced myself either.

I am also a former member of GSBB though I changed my alias, and I am trying to not be such a lurker.

I am a self taught goalie from Pittsburgh that started playing back in 2006 when I was 23.

Recently came back after being retired 4 years due to a lower back / hip injury that was nagging me everyday. Out of the blue my roommate from college said he started playing hockey and needed a goalie for a league and it started the next week. I was woefully out of shape having put on more weight than I care to admit and was going through a rough patch in life. So I said fuck it and agreed to play.  Went to a pickup game and felt like I was going to die after 20 minutes.  Made it through my first few games and decided to upgrade my gear, since everything I was using was around 10 years old.
