  1. Everyone of us have ups and downs in his game ( I got lit by 13! goals yesterday, but who cares today). Just my opinion, but I found this as the main problem. Do not quit now. Take some time off and when you are ready to return, play where you enjoy it and like it. BLG or pick-up, it doesn´t matter, if you like the play. But when you don´t, change the scenery and move away quickly from this kind of "teams".
  2. For me, real "gear unicorns" were the custom pieces of equipment made for goalies born usualy in 80´ which had their sometimes oldschool preferences in terms of gear. Lundqvist - Bauer poster goalie, but specs of his gear.. Hiller with his pads, chest protector, knee guards and cowlings. Total custom equipment made ony for them. I think that we will still see some great ideas of pro goalies which will sometimes made it to the custom options for pros/public. But not so many unorthodox gear pieces that were made just for one goalie and vanished with him from the show.
  3. I have the previous model for years, literaly hundreds of games and still good, no tears or holes.
  4. I used to do it at home, but now (1-2 months) tried it in locker room and looks like works better.
  5. This one. Ideally should be used when equipment is wet - I use it in the locker room, before packing my gear. Works great.
  6. Thanks, I appreciate a good book recommendation. There are too many books and too little time to read them..
  7. Books about history, especialy middle ages, are my favourite. I prefer literature of facts, but can read beletry if it is historically accurate. Now I am reading A King´s Ransom from S.K. Penmann, it is the third part of series, about Richard the Lionhearted after his return from Holy Land and his captivity. Beletery, but realy good and long. Another great book was God´s War. A New History of the Crusades form Christopher Teyrman, literature of facts, about 1000 pages .

It inevitably happens to all of us....sooner or later, but 74/65 is unreal. Please keep contributing - it is allways pleasure to read your posts!
  9. Jonas Hiller - before game And between periods - find 10 differences .
  10. Great, thanks for sharing . Vasy - butterfly flare at 4:25 is not form this world.
  11. If you say unorthodox style, Dominik Hašek is the first name that comes to my mind. But I must admit that I remember goalies form 90´ to the future. Never saw guys like Mike Palmateer , just in some video highlights. By todays standards I see a lot of now unorthodox saves (at NHL level, not in beer league) made by John Gibson . I can´t say why, but I don´t see Jonathan Quick as unorthodox, even with all of his splits etc. He surely is by today standards, but maybe I´m used to see this type of saves from him.
  12. I´m not completely sure. I´m using some pro return stuff and looks like it is not in equipment (Ondřej Pavelec disagrees ).
  13. I think it was more playoff battles against Red Wings/Sharks. If I remember correctly Hiller - Quick is only 2014 playoffs and that souhld be forgotten - starting John Gibson in game seven, pull him too late and let the Kings go all the way to the Cup ) .
  14. No, it was just a joke...as was his neverending equipment changes back in time .
  15. Great idea, this will be fun, lets go: Anaheim - Hiller of course, but it is definitely J. S. Giguere Arizona - Mike Smith Buffalo - "Hasheck" .. I know what you did here . Ottawa - Craig Anderson Toronto - Cujo, iconic as goalie can be Boston - Tim Thomas.. just for his gear changes Chicago - Crawford Colorado - Roy more than Gigi Los Angeles - I don´t care Calgary - Hiller of course, but it is Kipper Minnesota - Backström Florida - Luongo or Beezer? Luongo Carolina - Ward Rangers - Lundqvist or Richter? Lundqvist Washington - Kölzig or Holtby.. can´t say one over another Columbus - BOB! Winipeg - Hellebuyck San Jose - Nabokov St. Louis, Seattle - I don´t know, do they have any? Vegas - MAF Vancouver - McLean easy ones: Montreal - Roy, Roy and Roy Detroit - So Good Osgood Edmonton - Fuhr..granted Pittsburgh - MAF Islanders - Billy Smith, you can´t say any other without fear New Jersey - Brodeur.. is there any other goalie in NJD or he still plays for them? Philadelphia - Hextall Dallas - Turco Nashville - Rinne

Absolutely! He always used that kind of saves regularly. Sometimes hard to watch, but looks like it works for him.
  17. White/red jersey? Ok, this can be done !
  18. Keep it up, you will make it !
  19. Congrats ! On the light side note - it looks he didn´t have Passmore blocker, otherwise every puck would boom to the corner!
  20. Exactly ! I had the same idea - so allready have spare ones. But still going with first ones, for more than 5 years like you. Some battle scars on the front plate, but still holds strong. This is great product! Just if I want to try another new pads, usualy must switch to smaller knee pads from Bauer, but then it is day and night for knees.
  21. I use same knee pads and they are great. They just don´t fit to every pads, there must be a lot of space in knee area.

I had a chance to see ones he wore years ago and looked almost same, without ProTech logo and carbon "tape" in the middle of the front plate. Even the grey part was same. I don´t know if they were the first ones, but Hiller was very picky and conservative about his gear .
  23. My friend who repairs & reskins gloves (and he is really good at it) says the same - usualy incorrect lacing and inner material at wrong place or bad plastics pieces, not problem with design of the glove but poor assembly. I don’t think there is QC in terms of person who looks at every single piece of gear & knows how it should or shouldn’t look. As you say, it is about numbers…
