  1. I use Vaughn SLR pro carbon (with no other underneeth) and never had any problems. It is bulky, but top protection. But I don´t face NHL caliber shots of course .
  2. It is just the matarial CCM uses, happens on almost all of their recent chests. One would think this will not be problem on Pro only model, but on the other side, they usualy don´t care that much like us.
  3. Great review, thanks! I had chance to see one in summer form QMJHL goalie in almost new condition. If I wasn´t lucky to buy Hillers KOHO I would go for it definitly (he said he may sell it to me). It was nothing like pro CA you now see of the shelf in shops. My previous chest was Bauer NXG, basicky same like yours 2S, and I agree with you, NHL protection is overkill for beer league...but who cares ? I´m quite interested how retail version will look like compared to this one.
  4. I would not "go back in time" and play in this style pads again, but set looks great. Ok, truth is... I will go for one game, just to try them on !
  5. You can contact REY direcly: Contact - Rey Hockey Rey is Czech company, which makes goalie mask used by pro goalies in Europe for about 30 years.
  6. I have no experience with sportmask. Bauer 940 is fiberglass&composite mask, not plastic. The plastic one is 930 and previous 940x and you should probably avoid wearing this if you can.
  7. Older model of Vaughn Velocity, looks like stock pants, only lacing in front was replaced by bungee cord.
  8. Is it just a game you play for fun? If so, just try to let it go. It just happens, sometimes the players are to blame, sometimes the goalie (own experience ). The next time you are on the ice, it won't matter anyway...
  9. It is usual wear spot on pro return chest protectors. I think it comes form the fact that they can move with their arms close to body, as it should be, without much effort or focus.
  10. Yes, but look like mod that can by done by some gear repair company relatively easily on stock cheset.
  11. Now I realized that you mean suspender over chest protector to hold it in place. Never tried, but looks like Hanks solution works.
  12. I regulary rotate 3 sets of pads (but which all are almost same model, just different colours to match jerseys), 4 sets of gloves (colours to match pads of course, can be different brands/models, just no 591 catcher), 2 chests, 2 pants. Everthing models that I like and feel comfortable. I like to try anything (and everything) new and like to buy more stuff, but don´t like selling gear . So I think twice before buy, if it is something I realy want to keep for long time.
  13. The first tought that came to my mind after reading this - so called "coach" looks to me like someone who never realy organized group of hobby amateurs. First and foremost thing is have two reliable goalies which don´t miss lot of sessions. This type od rotation usualy don´t work good and sooner or later group ends without regular goalies. Second - if you play 90 minutes at that level (aka no real defence), that is realy enough. When the time is up, you can leave or stay if you want, players do the same. No player should be angry if you just decide to go home, this is not NHL practice. To me, this just doesn´t make sense. How to handle situation? Just straight tell him how you see it. And if it doesn´t help, talk with players/other goalie in case you realy want to stay. Then play elsewhere (if you can). Hockey should be fun.
  14. I do this without any problem, suspenders (CCM loops) under chest protector. No need for any special slids/spacing. Just try it .
  15. Can see everything, no problem with pictures...

    2022 - 2023 Cup

Lets just guess who will be next - Bobrovskij or Hill ?
  18. It is usualy form mask chin or dangler. Found similar one (smaller) on my bauer chest few days ago. Sometimes when you change neck guard, chest sits little higher and mask starts to slowly rubbing it. You don´t notice it in the game, because it is not in every move...it happens over time. In my opinion - just sew/patch it it and it is ok.

    Mckenney Gear

Would you take some photo of the back of the gloves and inside of catcher ? How would you compare gloves to the other brands, what is similar brand/model? And how you see craftmanship - only piece of McKenney equipment I saw in person was pants and they were top in quality. Thanks.

    NHL Knee pad database

If I remember correctly, the custom ones used by Hiller and Giguere were about 1000 USD back then . Should by interesting to try and see what is difference with maltese in comparsion with KOHO/CCM. I use them and it doesn´t look like it needs anything to be changed in this area. But I have no previous experience with maltese..
