Not much demand for the butterfly style Interesting! I never would have guessed that. As a goalie instructor, do you recommend the hybrid pad or do you think it's the "Carey Price" effect and everyone wants knee rolls?

Not much demand for the butterfly style How exactly are you defining "hybrid" vs "butterfly" - is it solely visual (per TGN - appearance of knee rolls) ? Number and type of breaks? Stiffness of pad?...
Jukka Ropponen
We have 2 pad models. The other one is the butterfly, which is mores tiff and straight flat face pad. The more popular version is the hybrid model that looks more traditional, but has our new elastic strapping system instead of leather straps. I personally like the hybrid model that we can customize to meet any goalies needs. The plain flat face pad is more of a fashion thing for a lot of goalies. Due to the pricing of Brian's we have to sell all Brian's gear directly, but our own brand is created to be sold via resellers. We also deal with McKenney as our 3rd brand. Jukka Ropponen
For this season we have made a lot of improvements to our gear and also introduced a totally new catch glove GP 40. Pads are much lighter and thinner now (new foams), sidewall has been reduced to 1/3 from original thickness. Strapping system is now more functional, toestraps been replaced by new bungee cord straps, knee stacks are more adjustable, outer knee flap is removable etc... Catch glove GP 40 is more for goalies that play hands out in front to control the puck. With this model we were really focused on max mobility and angling the glove optimally for puck control. Here's some pics of the new gear

No conflict with our own line, just more option we can offer for the dealers.

Jukka Ropponen
We just got the first larger production batch of these gloves in and will start shipping them right after xmas. The design is based on the pro goalies needs. I met with Juuse Saros last year when they were playing at Vegas and we started to talk about the gear and looked at his padded inner glove, which was baseball catchers model. Juuse told me that it protects well and he uses it at practices when needed, but had some issues with too much padding, padding not in right spots, tightening his catch glove with it, not getting the hand deep enough / to the right position etc. Since then we have toyed with different designs and gotten a lot of good feedback from Juuse and other pro customers. What we are starting to ship now is the first padded inner glove that is not just a modification, rather than piece of gear truly designed for ice hockey goalies. I am sure BlueSports will get these to stores in North America soon also. European shipments will start right after xmas. 1357999342_20201222GoaliePropaddedinnerglove.pdf
