Thought I’d revive this now that we’ve seen some of EFlex 6

Don’t think @Max27 is on here anymore but kind of wild he predicted Eflex would turn into something like this.

Think "Axis 2" and you've pretty much got it.

Not the ankle?

But, do they only measure 10.5 inches across?

Seriously, seems like they would want to keep them quite different.

So we're closer to being like ALLL Bauer pads for the past 6 years in a row is the way to go, just one cookie cutter leg channel after another.

Is that such a bad thing? Throwing what was essentially a comfy ccm leg channel on a pad that can actually perform seems to be the way to go.

I’ve said this before, personally I don’t mind it because it allows me to pick and choose the glove I want while knowing that the matching pads will feel fine

This comment is pretty far off the mark.

You are absolutely correct that the differences between the lines are getting smaller and smaller. Especially with customization, you can basically an EFLex that is an Axis 2 with Knee rolls. Brian's will do the same. Vaughn's stiff pads are not very stiff. Most brands are going with 1 style boot break, 1 strapping set up, and then a choice of stiffness profile and knees rolls or not.

Where you should do a bit more homework is on Bauer. Bauer probably has the biggest difference between lines right now. Just because 1 lines does not have knee rolls does not mean a thing.

Bauer has 2 completely different boot break angles, strapping set ups, knee block flex profiles, calf plate flex profiles, and there is a major difference in comparing their stiffness. This does not get into the difference with the blockers and gloves.

Why is everyone generally going to 1 basic pad setup? People basically want the same things these days.

I'm really interested to see how this 581 turns out. Glad they moved away from the 600 as the retail option. Screenshot_20230115-104620.thumb.png.2558085e56444c03e6ec9383de565e64.png

Cuff: Flexmotion > hilariously inaccurate. If they are still going to overlap the main back-hand padding on top of the "flexible" CCM flap, then call it: Stiffmotion
