    Warrior G5

Pfff, you're over here acting like they haven't taken the Classic graphic from pad to pad.
  2. If I'm mad at the refs I just skate away from the net and let them jump in and get it. Not out responsibility to fish it out for them.

Only thin I could picture them adding is the Scriven's strap. It's kind of the soup du jour for strapping options. They did mention that they modified the elastic toe/boot ties on the G5 from it's predecessors. I'm making an assumption that they just made the strap longer and with some adjustment points like their boot strap.

How come you think they need to change it?

    No, absolutely not.

TGN seems really adverse of any product that's been influenced by Pete Smith. (Vaughn/Warrior) Clearly we can only conclude that TGN hates Pete Smith

    Warrior G5

Kind of looks like 2/3's to me.

You'll probably be a 33+1.5. But I'm seriously just making a wild guess.

    Warrior G5

Well, that's a question for every new release. So only you can decide whether the changes are worth it or not. The pictures look to have fixed the binding issue on the knee stack. Even the GT2, which still had a binding, was mostly fixed compared to the G4. Would really depend on what pad you're currently in, but here's their sizing chart:

Warrior has used their stock offerings as their promo images since I started following them closely. So GT1. So far the GT1, G4, and GT2 promo images have been exactly what their stock offerings are. I wouldn't expect this to be any different.

Also, graphic looks to not have a lot of variance to it. I have a feeling we'll see a lot of samey looking sets. Kind of like the GT2.

    Warrior G5

Here's the first officially released look of the G5 from Warrior's Instagram page. A couple things stand out as changes: - Airslide has been redesigned, looks like less ridges overall and a better binding system. - Possibly stock single T, GT2 was stock double T. - External Knee break, G4 was only interntal, - Glove looks to follow the GT2 with the more pronounced thumb angle (good thing)
  13. Do you mean a blend of a 580/590? Or do you mean just a 580 or 590? Vaughn VE8 XP is a 590 clone, 2X is a 60 degree break (same as 590), CCM makes 590 and 580 stock gloves, 2S is a 580 ish feeling glove. Warrior G4 palm inserts can mimic any break.
  14. My little "mantra" I'll repeat to myself in games is: "Hands Forward" "Stick Down" "Butterfly" It's something I've used since I picked up the position and I use it as a "Reset" to get my mind/body into the correct form. Positioning will save your ass more often that reactions and by just having your hands and stick in the right spot, you'll improve that SV%.

V2-V4 were big for that. I think they started to address it around the V5 mark.

Vaughn boot settling and Vaughn finger curl must've been before your time then.
  17. My GT1 is similar with how they've down the floater protection. The floaters are made in such and armadillo fashion that they're never noticeable while playing and actively move out of the way when needed. Though, it did force me to place my blocker position to the "mid" setting on my warrior blockers (CCM) instead of the "high" setting (Velocity) due to the interference when playing the puck and standing. In a ready position it was never an issue.
  18. Thanks a lot for the "mini" review. It's about on par with a lot of people's full reviews. Much appreciated
  19. At least they're a little less obnoxious than the P1/P2 C/A's. I still can't believe those were legal.
  20. Time away to heal and mentally recover is always beneficial. I play a fair amount and really only get Christmas break and season breaks as my rest times where I don't play any hockey. Though I'm thinking of taking this summer off for the first time in years.

    Vaughn V9

Heretic. You know, now that I'm thinking about it, I'm seeing less and less Vaughn gear in the beer leagues. Well newer sets at least. The only guys I see still rocking Vaughn are lifelong users. I rarely see goalies make a switch into Vaughn. I mentioned in a previous thread that I think CCM was starting to be pigeon holed into the same category as Vaughn as a slow innovator/dinosaur brand compared to the Bauer/Warrior/Brians, and I still stand by it.

    Vaughn V9

That's like @southpawtendy48 not getting anymore Vaughn gear. You two were the Vaughn regulars here. Though I do have to say I'm disappointed. CCM? What would your mother think?

I mean, they have a different graphic and it's been thinned out a bit. Clearly massive changes. (yes I know about the change to an actual carbon fibre sheet)
