  1. Thanks for the feedback. I have taken quite a few stingers in my Bauer Reactor 3 glove, so I'm looking for a more protective full right trapper. I've already ordered a pro stock version of my existing chesty (Vaughn retail chestys have rather weak arms).
  2. How would I tell if the glove has the reinforced palm or regular game ready palm? I'm not sure if that is an option I can filter by.
  3. I'm looking for a full right glove with a pro palm, either on its own or with a similar blocker. I currently use a Bauer Reactor 3, but I have taken more than my fair share of stingers to the palm with it. I prefer to play with my fingers up and catch either thumb to fingers or fingers to palm.
  4. Do Warrior gloves have the options for pro palms? I'm asking, because most other manufacturers have that option, but Warrior gloves have removable liners. The liners affect the break, so it wouldn't be surprising if they affect the palm too. If I were to get a Warrior glove with a pro palm, would I have to get the glove itself modded, or would I buy a special reinforced liner to go along with the glove? Thanks!
  5. Is that True's newest version of a hybrid pad?
  6. I'll be monitoring this thing, because it seems very promising in tests so far. Thin bars that are long lasting will be revolutionary.
  7. Who is the young lady next to Carter Hart?
  8. Strange. I thought the difference between game ready and pro palm gloves would be better documented.
  9. I don't tuck either, but then that is because the suspenders I use are crap. I have to cross them over my shoulders to keep them on.
  10. Of course not. He had to make exceptional efforts, including a 65-save debut that ended in overtime, sweeping the defending champions, and only allowing one goal in the conference finals.
  11. The reason Giguere got the Conn Smythe is because he got a 7-seed to within one game of winning the Stanley Cup. He had a 15-6 record, 1.62 GAA, and .945 save percentage.
  12. Vasilevskiy played an excellent game, giving up 2 goals on 30 shots. This is the type of effort that should win NHL games, but the Lightning only scored once in Game 6. That is the reason they lost. The Avs won by outscoring their opposition.
  13. This is ridiculous. Why is the NHL willing to accept that its team will be inferior to a college hockey team? Is there a reason why the Coyotes can't build their own arena, or else upgrade their practice facility to include a nearby game arena?
  14. You gotta give props to the water polo goalies for having the cojones to face shots unprotected and keep themselves afloat at the same time.
  15. Do you have video of yourself playing? This will help me better understand your technique. Maybe the Mach pads require different techniques than other pads.
  16. Both of you have a point. @ZeroGravitas is right that "out of the zone" is a larger target than the net. You are right that the defenseman could easily whiff and cause an own goal, or else score an own goal without looking where he is shooting. What I dread the most are rebounds that are just out of reach. They are dangerous, because I can neither cover them up quickly, nor trust that my D will get to them and clear the puck away or tie up the opposing forwards. Hard pads help prevent that type of rebound, because chances are that a shot with any speed will shoot off them beyond the slot and/or out of the zone.
  17. That's why I like how hot the rebounds are on my 2S Pros. I have literally had shots bounce off them and go to or beyond the blue line without anyone else touching them. Knowing that my pads can clear the zone on their own is a relief, especially when playing with bad defencemen.
  18. Look and see if there are deals on used 2S Pro or Ultrasonic pads. This will get you used to playing with hard Bauer pads.
  19. That makes more sense. If I project the hands forward before or as I go down, there will be less space for the tweener shots to come.
  20. I tried 1/2" at my goalie lesson today, and it was somewhat easier sliding. It would probably even easier if I had 7/16, but that would wait for next time I sharpen my skates.
  21. The most logical approach would be to get M5 pads with Mach (or another customizable) gloves. This way you save money on the pads but get quality gloves.
  22. What made you choose these pads in the first place? I'm asking, because if you are repeatedly getting issues with defective pads from the same line, maybe you could try to find a different line of pads with similar characteristics.
  23. On a different note, how would a profile, such as a senior Goalie SAM affect sharpening? I used to play with a 3/8 hollow when my skates had the factory single radius profile, but I then took a profile assessment and changed to a 5/8 hollow with Goalie SAM based on the results. I found out that the settings are great for shuffles, but suck for sliding, because I can't seem to get a good edge to push off from. I then moved to a 1/2 hollow. Hopefully this helps. Anyone else alter their sharpenings due to profiles?
  24. The pads look good, but until I can see actual performance demos, I'll have to wait on buying them.
