What is that? I would like to second @seagoal and say that hydration is important. Make sure you have enough water before games, drink in small amounts during games (at stoppages with the faceoff in the other zone, after goals, or between periods), and make sure to drink after each game ends. If you have time to shower between games, do that. I've noticed that warm showers help relieve muscle tightness and small aches. You'll also feel mentally refreshed, especially when you put on clean clothes afterwards. I NEED to shower after games because I have sensitive skin and sweat like crazy, but I would say a good shower also helps.

Are the slide plates designed specifically for ice, or could they also work for ball hockey? I'm curious, because it might open up my options in using the same pair of pads for both sports.

I know this might be considered necromancy, but are there any goalie camps in the DC area? I found Weekend Warriors in August, and they seem to have goalie instruction, but I'm not sure what other camps are in the area that adults can do.

Awesome. I haven't seen a Warrior full right glove on Sideline Swap yet, but maybe one might end up there soon. I'll also see if Goalie Monkey or Pure Hockey has one on clearance.

It's not surprising. Goalie is a more long-term position for development. It's not often that a young Fleury or Vasilevsky can come in and play at a high level in the NHL since day 1.

The thing is that my glove was new when I bought it from Bunnyman. It has been used since February, so not that long. I'll be saving up for a full right pro palm glove ASAP.

I'm playing beer league at the D and subbing at Lower C levels. At pickups, some of the high school and college players have wicked shots. I want to make sure I'm protected enough.

Maybe it's the difference between the shapes of older and newer gloves. Older gloves (such as the Reactor 3) tend to have more of an oval-shaped catching surface while newer gloves (Ultrasonic, Axis) tend to look more circular. Even the Reebok Premier X24 I had was the newer, rounder design. I had a hard time closing that glove, but if pucks or balls got in, they weren't coming out.

It will be a very interesting training camp for Colorado. Georgiev and Francouz will duke it out for playing time. I think Francouz will be a starter, simply because he kept the Avs afloat in the playoffs when Kuemper briefly got hurt.
