  1. Hopefully Rangers Lightning will give us more excellent goaltending play to compensate for the chaos of Mike Smith.
  2. I don't. After the one that held the lace to my left pad got shredded off, it got lost. I then had to use a lace from my spare dangler to tie the ProLaces to the pad.
  3. What knee calf junk are you talking about? BTW, I use Warrior Ritual X Pro knee pads with my Bauer 2S Pro leg pads, and they seem to work well so far.
  4. It's good to know that both pro palm and non-pro palm gloves work. Hopefully all price point gloves for True work well.
  5. Wow, this is even simpler than I thought.
  6. Interesting. I haven't seen any modern Brian's pad, so I would know about that. CCM was really straightforward (knee strap, calf strap, Quick Motion strap, and boot strap). Bauer was a little more complicated with having to get the CRS strap between the knee and calf exactly right. Brian's is probably somewhere between CCM and Bauer in complexity, based on your description. If JRZ is similar to Brian's, it isn't the simplest system, but will become straightforward the Morehouse use it.
  7. The Rangers have drawn first blood, as of yesterday. Will the Empire strike back?
  8. Wow. The only one that gets to break his groin is the lovely Anna Raanta née Ylijoki. Perhaps she can help fix her husband up so that the Raantas can enjoy their day with Lord Stanley's Cup eventually.
  9. Wow, I'm a 34 in CCM (35 in Warrior or Bauer). This would translate to either a 34+ 1 or a 34+1.5 in JRZ, as I have a 20.5" ATK. @keeperton, how does the JRZ strapping resemble Brian's?
  10. This is an awesome set of pads and gloves. For comparison, what is your size in Vaughn? If the JRZ gloves are good, I might have to think about them when I am able to get a custom set.
  11. I can't help but agree more. I did my homework, and know for sure that I will not buy True gloves until I confirm that their non-pro gloves actually work. I've been burned by Lefebvre non-pro gloves before and can point to other people with similar experience. I'd be interested to see how the pads perform when it comes to.sliding and rebound hardness.
  12. I'd wait and see how it performs before buying it. Still, a ski-style boot is an interesting new way to dial in tightness.
  13. I know that Reebok had issues, because I used Reebok gloves. @ser33 can also attest to issues with Reebok gloves, and @ArdeFIN can attest to problems with the CCM gloves with the Lefevre name on them. If any old Koho users can chime in, that would be appreciated. My point is that there were systematic issues with lower price point Lefevre gloves, and I am concerned what this means once True stops exclusively producing made-in-Canada custom stuff for pros and other people willing to shell out 3K for a set.
  14. Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't EFlex 4 and Premier II released in the same year? I referred to Premier II, because that is what I actually owned and used.
  15. The quality issues had plagued stuff with the Lefevre name, not necessarily stuff made by Lefevre, since the Reebok days at least. I have not owned any pre-Reebok stuff with the Lefevre brand. I believe you that the pro-level stuff has no issues, but I am worried that the lower-level stuff from True will be as bad as the old Lefevre-branded lower price point stuff.
  16. The CCM Premier II was the last edition of gloves and pads that Lefebvre made on behalf of CCM. The gloves would say "CCM by Lefevre" on them (My CCM Premier II pads said "CCM by Lefevre" on the thigh rise). I stand corrected, the 2.9 was the intermediate-level catcher, just like my old set of regular glove and blocker. M. Lefebvre did not make those gloves personally, but they have his name on them. Thus the design was his responsibility. I would not be surprised if the Canadian-made pro gloves did not have issues because they were made of better materials that could compensate for the design flaws. My question was whether the True glove design had changed to eliminate the design flaws that ArdeFIN had identified.
  17. Take a look at this thread. Here ArdeFIN explains why Lefebvre gloves have closure problems. You had issues with the EFlex 4, I had issues with the Reebok 24K XLT Premier glove, and ArdeFIN had issues with a CCM Premier 2.9 (the entry-level CCM Premier glove). Given that more than one Lefebvre glove line has closure problems, I can conclude that there is a real issue with those gloves closing. Fingers crossed that True corrected those design flaws. However, I'll have to try on a True glove in a store to confirm.
  18. What about knee pads? Or has Warrior not released a new model yet?
  19. Same as Trav uses. I'll have to look into a 20.1 or 20.2 set once my current Bauer/Warrior mashup breaks down.
  20. That is an interesting device. How does it work? Hopefully you'll be able to break in your glove well.
  21. How is a professor strap locking in the knee block going to help? Is that because the professor strap can be done tighter than a standard knee strap?
  22. Memory Eternal to Bunnyman (Doug Rogers)! It sucks to lose him, but at least I can honor him by making saves with his full right gloves.
  23. What is the advantage of 4 holes? Does it allow you to modify where the toe ties come through?
  24. Measure his head size. Then use those measurements to order online. That is how I got my Coveted mask.
  25. Awesome! Maybe the performance problems with my glove were due to the difference in quality between senior and pro-level stuff. It's good to hear that modern Lefebvre gloves are doing better than the old ones. Hopefully their full right gloves are also good.
