I agree, but I think it's more just design inspiration than a real connection between the two. I'm curious to know how much these will cost and how well they perform.
  2. Can you provide some more angles, specifically a side shot? I was wondering if Michel would extend the chin on the 961 mold since it's more shaped than his other masks.
  3. I haven't worked with Michel before, but I know he himself can do some minor paint jobs (I've seen cage windows painted differently from the rest of the mask). If you want the same type of paint job, then I'm sure it wouldn't cost all that much since it's pretty simple compared to many modern paint jobs.
  4. They extended the deal to Monday: "Due to the popularity of our first ever full kit promotional pricing, we're extending the deal to Monday 2/4."
  5. But I wonder if the 3D scan is not in reference to fitting the mask, but designing it in some way. Hopefully it is about fit but we won't know until they hit retail.
  6. Like @TheGoalNet reposted on Instagram, Sportmask has a new Pro3i looks to be "3D scanned" and "photometric tested", and while those are big words which I am not entirely clear on. Does it mean the masks are modeled software to determine the best construction or geometry? Or is it something else? Either way, the more R&D that goes into masks the better!
  7. Gotta love the caption: "Nice clean look! In yet another ripped off graphic! Haha"
  8. I don't own a Protechsport and haven't talked to Michel, but from previous posts I think he charges around $80 CAD for cages which is a steal compared to current prices. This may be out of date but I would bet they are in that ballpark.
  9. So apparently the wait times for junior guys in Vaughn is long too. Spencer Stehouser is the EQM for the Sting in the OHL and says he wouldn't be able to get new equipment until the playoffs, which is at least 2 months away...
  10. Yes. They'll copy anything -- the "Battram" of masks.
  11. I recall someone mentioning that he has at least two 961 molds, so I’m sure one will work for larger heads. Personally I have a longer head so I would ask for a bit more length so that there isn’t a gap between the edge of the mask and backplate. You might want to ask about that if you have had a similar issue before too.
  12. So I guess they weren’t just gloves for someone’s CCM pads... If you go to the post, Scott has some interesting answers...
  13. I believe they also have real leather and with the new printing capabilities I'm sure they can accommodate many more colours.
  14. I was wondering the same thing. I seem to recall they made products for Sher-Wood, and they definitely made products for Warrior prior to Pete Smith being hired there.
  15. The Passau C/A may be similar to the Sher-Wood 9980, but the Boddam is an exact copy of the Passau from the images I've seen: Passau: Boddam: Sher-Wood 9980:
  16. Getting my last pieces of gear to start playing goal on ice: Normal Passau chest protector (ie not pro-pack) but with Maltese heart guard (might actually be ECOproFoam since Maltese is dead and it isn’t labelled on the unit but is clearly a denser material): Also got an almost new WGD glove that appears to be a Sherwood T100 glove for a pretty good deal:
  17. That looks a helluva more slimmed down than the current ones. Looks like something for ball hockey...
  18. Do you happen to have an ETA on the new Brian's Smart toe ties?
  19. I wonder if CCM's move a few months ago to start offering Prolaces straight from the Lefevre factory has anything to do with this, or vice versa...
  20. Yeah, I don't need new skates anytime soon but assuming no huge changes in the offerings over the next several years, I have a difficult choice to make between True/VH and Bauer. VH started as a small Canadian company but is now owned by a big US firm (True Temper) whereas Bauer is now owned by Canadian holdings groups. Either way, it's great to see that VH pushed the rest of the market to respond; without them or a similar company, this would likely have not happened so quickly, or maybe ever.
