  1. Always looking for something new lol. This is the first ever custom set and I am quite stoked. First time a set will have every spec I want all in one. Hoping for a long happy time with this set (when it finally arrives). The color I went with should look nice with that Olympia “Cooper” bucket from you too
  2. I placed an order for EF4s at the end of last week and was quoted 8-10 weeks.
  3. Picked up this neck guard on a whim. I’m always looking for another neck protector to experiment with. This one (CCM Pro 508) appears to be a Europe-only model. Its an interesting design - similar to the Vaughn neck/clavicle bib, but all parts are more rigid. I think it is meant to be worn more loosely. Haven’t tried it on the ice yet, but will soon.
  4. Exactly. Thought that was an actual picture of me for a second... Here’s my hack job. Not pretty, but it works really well. The segmented foam really lets it move/flex so that it does not feel restrictive. The main reasons I cut off the body were that I did not need the side protection and I did not find the shirt comfortable to wear directly against my skin and did not want to wear a whole second shirt over my UA layer (too hot).
  5. I would say “moderate”. It me, it fits somewhere in between an Under Armour heat gear compression shirt and the loose fit in the same size. I wear small in UA and got a size small Verbero.
  6. I was not a big fan of this as a shirt, but I cut the lower part off and made a shirt-style neck guard a la the Vaughn VPC 8000 unit and I like using it that way.
  7. @TheGoalNet is the chrome actually reflective? I’ve been wondering if wraps could achieve the mirror and/or metallic look. I assume it’s possible but wasn’t sure which wrap producer(s) can do it.
  8. Interesting. Thanks for the responses. Definitely more of a “chocolate” color than I thought. Was hoping it looked closer to the dark, more worn leather look. Will have to play with the customizer more.
  9. Has anyone seen a Warrior set using a lot of the “Brown” color (as opposed to “Retro Tan”) in the wild? I am finding myself really interested in another retro set but was thinking of going with the darker Brown to change it up. Just hard to get a sense of what that color actually looks like in person. Not that it helps much, but here’s a mock-up:
  10. New jets arrived. Although there must be others out there, I haven’t seen anyone go with the white toe cap but keep the quarter panel black. I thought this might look the most “traditional”, ie mimic the look of a cowling/toe protector. I’m loving the look. All locked in with Howies waxed laces and Bauer Speedplate 2.0 footbeds installed.
  11. Got my Sportmask Mage back from JF Aumais. Once I got this idea in my head, I couldn’t get it out... Vinyl was in excellent shape this time, no issues. Note that this helmet was black and the vinyl is definitely opaque. Other than the black you may see in the vent holes, I wouldn’t be worried about covering black with this product. Now to order a gold cage to complete the look...
  12. adidas 3-Stripe Goalie Jersey - Men's Hockey 60 White/Mystic Grey https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BHL6V77/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_uW-NCbG8YSSNW
  13. Was able to find an adidas practice jersey in 60G on the retail market. Pretty excited because I figured they would not be offering these at retail. Once I test this one out I’ll probably go for more colors.
  14. Just wanted to share this. Breaking in this 1X glove has been horrible. Calling this “game ready” out of the box is criminal... I’ve been alternating between spreading and wrapping with the hot glove. I also recently relaced the pocket loosely with skate lace. Anyway, after struggling with making my own spreaders, I realized I have a heavy-duty mechanical option. Behold, the ultimate spreader: There are lots of these clams/spreaders on the market, but this one with the trigger design lets me get a ton of travel. Who knows whether its safe to do this on the glove, but I am easily getting 1-2” if not more of extra “spread” over dowel rods, etc. Will keep alternating with wrapping of course. Hoping this makes a difference...
  15. I just started wearing a Franklin CFX Pro batting glove under my trapper. I was looking for more grip and something to take up some volume. After 4-5 skates, I am liking it a lot. I tried the “underglove” previously with another model, don’t remember exactly which but I went with the thinnest one I could find figuring that I needed a tight fit to get into the trapper. That one had a smooth palm, which I think was the reason I did not find it very effective. When I went shopping for this glove, I was looking for something with a grippier texture, which the CFX Pro has. Not I feel like I have some leverage in the fingerstalls.
  16. @ULTIMA just a quick follow up - hopefully I have time for a more detailed review or video. I did not find any bubbles on mine, but mine had a few issues on arrival similar to @Patrick Roy's Wink above. A few spots around the edges and some of the vent holes where the vinyl wasn’t perfectly adhered to the mask. Seemed to be only on curved areas FWIW. My solution was pretty simple: I hit these areas with some medium heat with a hair dryer and pressed the vinyl into the mask. Two skates and several days later, everything is still perfect. JF is amazing to deal with and did a pretty great job with the install, so since the fix was really easy on my end, I am very happy with the final result. I haven’t asked him, but I’m wondering whether those issues were present when he finished his process or whether the vinyl pulled up later. Either way, looks like it’s in good shape now. Keep in mind, he charges $180 CAD for the vinyl and the install, but more importantly, he does an original design for each buyer and is wonderful to work with. Great communication and he was willing to submit several proofs for me to review/approve.
  17. I will carefully inspect mine when it arrives (should be today) and let you know.
  18. And just to be clear - that includes his design. He was great to work with.
  19. My faux-toque style VTX on my way back to me from JF Aumais. He’s the man!
  20. I ordered as well. I've played around with a version of this type of system with rigid lace at the toe bridge and elastic around the skate and liked it. I went with 1.5" as its the "medium" size. Figured its worth a shot.
  21. Have you had a chance to weigh it? Think you’ll wear it snug to your throat or looser (compared to your Interceptor)?
  22. Haha yeah took me a while before thinking of it too lol... My concern with doing it the opposite way is I’m not sure how much wear the knots would get in the RVH with that part of the toe bridge up against the post (at least with my poor technique...)
  23. Just wanted to share my method for tying on ProLaces with waxed lace. Instead of lacing through both holes and tying a square knot (which I’m always concerned about coming undone), I start by tying a figure 8 knot on one end, run the lace through and tie another figure 8 in the other end. There is virtually no chance these knots will come undone so it feels very secure
  24. Yeah, I continue to be very happy with my jock. For reasons stated above, I’m not commenting on their business practices, but this is an excellent product.
  25. Glad to see they aren’t changing much. Hope the break on the glove stays the same. This is going to make the OG RGT Pros the best deal in hockey when they inevitably go on sale.
