  1. Nice catch, I totally missed that!
  2. Don't wanna step on the Big Man's toes.
  3. Thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Kaskisuo, we've got some video of the upcoming CCM set. The resolution of the box is pretty low, but these are pretty standard boxes from CCM, whether the gear is stock or custom. Below is the box from the video and a picture of my custom EF5 box. The EF5 box affixes "CUST" to each line for custom product. I think the "SP" suffix in the words also denotes that it is special/custom. Anyone with a stock or custom Axis 2/EF6 box to corroborate? We don't see a CUST suffix on Kaskisuo's box, but there may be a SP suffix in its place at the end. Resolution is too low to make it out. For colour, it looks like we can see "SR W/W/W/W..." for the pads and similar for the glove and blocker, with "REG" attached to denote regular handedness. Weight appears of the new set appears to be very close/same as EF5. I suspect this Axis XF is stock, though. Boot appears to be flatter than EF6/AX2? There was a very slight channel to AX2/EF6. Hard to tell with the brightness. Knee cradle material looks the same. The grey material used in the leg channel seems the same. Looks like the blocker has some of the knee grip material on the inside of the cuff. Hard to see, but the catcher might have some too, you can see something gray by the D3O tag. Hard to tell if the stitching lines that separate the calf landing from the pad are there. It seems like there is some kind of separation, so these might be Total Custom Pro pads rather than off-the-shelf retail Pro/standard Total Custom. Strapping looks the same. No change to the DRS PRO or QMSS 2 logos so it seems like there are little to no changes regarding strapping.
  4. US with US stiffness vs Mach with Mach stiffness. US was used for about 2 years, Mach was either: new out of the box or less than 5 skates. Doesn't look like a radical difference, but it felt like one!
  5. Like Coop says, Mach is much stiffer than M5. I've had both Ultrasonic (with US stiffness) and Mach (with Mach stiffness) and the difference is substantial. I've also had HL1 (with HL1 stiffness) and now HL2 (with US stiffness). While I have never used M5 Pro, it feels and looks (spec-wise) very, very similarly to the US. I had a review thread with the Machs and originally planned to do a long-term review, but ended up not doing a it because they were just too stiff and it was not good for my game.
  6. Same for me. My thought is that if you go softer, you might be able to get at least a slight curve going on it as you break it in. I had a pic on one of these threads with my warranty replacement HL2 and my used HL2 and you can see the curve developing on the used set. Granted, HL2 is a much softer pad...
  7. Stole these from reddit https://www.reddit.com/gallery/15x5pqr
  8. You're in M5 Pro right now? Mach stiffness is stiffer than the M5 pad IIRC. You may prefer Ultrasonic stiffness instead if you like thr way the M5 feels.
  9. You may prefer the Vapor TuneFit instead of Supreme TuneFit - most people seem to. See below for differences.
  10. Make sure you're under Pro Custom and have Mach selected under Glove Construction. Should be the very last option under Glove Specs. Bauer/CCM and Warrior are more... turn and burn rather than building stuff to spec ala Vaughn/Brian's
  11. Coveted Mask sale begins tomorrow - Friday August 18th. Use coupon code COVETED50 to take 50% off.

    Pad wear

I had some of that Vivid paint protection film that I used for sliding purposes. Threw that on the corners of my thigh rise and the bindings on the boots and it seems to be doing the job so far. Not seeing any signs of wear yet, knock on wood.
  13. Are they goalie cut? Most goalie cuts begin at 58G AFAIK.
  14. Looks like Bauer might be doing something like this now! EDIT: Screenshot is from PureGoalie.com
  15. A True 33 should be a little smaller than XL US. I was in a S US and I think a 32 True would be a more appropriate fit. Per the sizing charts, a 33 True should fit a FTK of 20-20.5". Meanwhile the Bauer size chart indicates a XL pad should be around 21.5 to 22.5". Thanks guys. It seems like it might be some sort of muscle injury to the scalenes or brachial plexus area. Being in certain positions causes my hands to get weak/tingle. It's not painful, just very odd and disconcerting.
  16. You in Sweden now? Did you take your Warrior set too? Your goalie partner must be so jelly of your gear...

  18. If you work in the pro shop that sells equipment, ask your boss about it. Bauer University is the website for employee education for Bauer gear. Completing the modules unlocks employee discounts. Endvr is a similar thing, but is a mobile app on your phone. CCM and True use it for their employee education and there were some substanial discounts for True a couple months back.
  19. Does your rink sell Bauer? Are you on Bauer University? Does your rink sell True or CCM? Are you on ENDVR?

  21. Nice! Similar, but spiky-er! You can see some of the spikes on Shesterkin's set above as well as another set of spikes he didn't use.
