  1. Watching some games last night, I noticed at least one player on the Canadiens using a Sher-Wood stick, and Matthew Tkachuk using Sher-Wood gloves. Nice to see Sher-Wood back in the NHL.
  2. Elliot's nickname is Moose. Those are moose antlers on the top of his mask, And lightning bolts for the trunk of the palm tree. I really don't think there is any Potvin tribute intended

Stay safe @coopaloop1234 I drove down from Nanaimo to Victoria Sunday afternoon/ evening. I was going 40km/h the whole way. One of the worst drives of my life.

I had heard about the upcoming move, and then the Hockey News posted about it yesterday. I am really happy that money is being invested to build a larger manufacturing plant. The deal with Canadian Tire has certainly provided them the promise of stability. I am a big fan of the SL900 goal stick. I recall both Kirk McLean and Chris Osgood being Hespeler users. I always hated how high up the paddle the Hespeler logo was. Partially covered by the blocker, and then a big gap down by the blade.
  5. @SaveByRichter35 wow, yeah from that street view shot, can really see the hump! But, what an improvement, looking fantastic!
  6. Replace gear? Foreign concept to me.
  7. And of those 3, only Price has stuck it out. Dryden retired early, and Roy gave up on the team saying "trade me right fucking now".

Any Letterkenny fans in this group?
  10. Listened to Painkiller on my way to work this morning... followed up by Cody Jinks LOL. Yep, my playlists are all over the place.
  11. WTF is up with Broissoit? Is that Blue on the blocker and trapper?? The grey does not match, the gold is different on the pads, stick and jersey... just effing horrible!!! Cool concept if they could have colour matched
  12. Original steps look like it is just "decorative" plaster or concrete over top of the sidewalls. The whole house probably had it before the siding was put on.
  13. The thread title sounds like my last round of golf. Started par-birdie-birdie-par-birdie... and still shot an 87.
  14. Oh shit, I huff and puff when I am doing that.
  15. well, I naturally shoot right, but learned to shoot left as a goalie. Kick left foot, but put on right skate, then left skate, right pad, then left pad. Oddly, left leg goes into pants first.
  16. @SaveByRichter35 your lawn looks FANTASTIC!! Most people would have been happy with the before pictures, but the dethatching after shot shows the true story. Just because a lawn may be green, doesn't mean it is healthy. chile57, like SaveByRichter says, definitely add soil into your levelling to take out the humps and bumps. Also, once you do level it, make sure you use a roller to compact it depending on how deep the valleys are. And to also echo what SBR says, remove the clay plugs after aerating, no point in re-introducing that material. That can be a pain in the ass and very tedious to do, but worth the effort.
  17. @SaveByRichter35 that is a FANTASTIC summation!!!
  18. Growing up, I was not allowed to play on the front lawn, that was the "show lawn". I could play on one of the side lawns or the back lawn. The funny thing, now my Dad doesn't really give a shit about his lawn, lets it go brown in the summer.
  19. I did the pre-trim all the way down to 1 inch. Make sure the weather forecast for the week after that trim is not too warm, I did mine when the max daytime temp was 18 celcius (70F).
  20. Nope, no aerating or dethatching, just scraped it lightly with a leaf rake. Mind you, my ground/soil was already fantastic. Because the initial cut is quite low, I cut it once the new grass was established, and cut the whole thing on a high setting on my mower, it may have juuuuuuust trimmed the new grass. Be sure your mower blade is VERY sharp for this cut, otherwise it will just rip and tear at the new grass. I did mine in the fall for the reasons stated in the link. As for doing it all at once or in stages, depends on if you want to get a start on the first section in early fall, second section late fall. Not sure where you are located, so a lot depends on your seasons, first frost etc. If there are any turf farms in your area, you can always call them for advice. Thanks for the compliment
  21. I followed this advice, to great success. It also is pretty much exactly what the Greenskeeper at my favourite golf course told me. https://www.scotts.com/en-ca/library/grass-grass-seed/best-way-overseeding-reseeding-lawn
