I think loser points/participation awards can more so be attributed to parents of millennials. @seagoal In that scenario when safety is the issue, I'm pushing the net off for a whistle.

Played in my first senior game in 10 years or something last night after beer league for a decade. Did not go so well, ha.

It's pretty straightforward, I just make sure everything is dry before I seal it up. I apply enough shoe goo with a toothpick or similar device and if possible, lightly clamp the affected area for a couple hours post application.

I see people riding all winter, not too many of them mind you, in Manitoba. You can always add more layers!

No pics of any fixes on hand, but this is the product i use.

For pads and gloves, I can't recall ever waiting until they actually need replacing. I probably average under a year between sets, other than my current set which I've had for 21 months, albeit many of those months were non-playing months due to closures. Everything else I basically just hang onto until I start feeling the puck too much or a piece is falling apart too much to bother repairing. @indykrap if you happen to be short like me and want a G4 set in about as neutral a colour as you can get, I've got a set for sale (shameless plug!).

The bindingless boot just looks so clean as well.

Looking to sell my G4 set as I have a set of G5s coming my way. I've owned these since January 2020 when I bought them in like new condition. They're in good shape, however the face of the catcher does have some cuts in it that have been sealed with shoe goo and the boot risers, for lack of a better term, on the pads have a little wear from my skates. I've had a bit of a lack of hockey in my area over the last month due to covid restrictions on being fully vaccinated and living in a piss poor uptake area, so I've been picking up a game here and there on the Puck app about an hour away in the city. Managed to get a 4-2 win tonight in a division 1 game.

They're using frostbite for this iteration, so hopefully there are noticeable changes.

Because people like me will buy it every year in hopes it's much improved, ha. They're utilizing a new game engine this year, so my hopes are somewhat high. Already pre-ordered and have my auto download set on the PS5!

Yeah. On a whim I decided to try out the Halo Hockey Laces 2.0 (https://halohockey.com/ols/products/laces2-stock). I like them. I'm lazy, it's the exact same level of tightness each time. It is wearing on my pads a bit though.

I would totally use them, except for the fact that I love my new Graf boot immensely more than my prior pair which were Bauers. I've already been using velcro for the past few months.
