Thanks for the mask pics! I would try the elastic that comes with the G5's first and then go to the Prolaces if you don't like it. I wore my G2 elastics up until last year when they were too stretched out and finally went with the Prolaces, which are fantastic. But I was fine with stock at first.
  2. Thanks for all the comments Chenner29, I really appreciate it. Love my Simmons 995 after almost 10 years of use, it's really held up well. I've gotten the occasional stinger in it since day 1, but it's not often. Simmons "modeled" it after a RBK P1 from what I remember the old owner stating, and in 2010, as now, there were no more new P1's, just used models getting passed around between new users. So I got that 995 for 3-4 hundred dollars and it has worked out well for me. I cut out the throat protection within the 1st week because I have a short neck and wore a dangler at the time (now a Maltese combo only) and have not had one issue. Some other small mods here and there, but overall, wouldn't mind getting another from Simmons again. But this Kenesky just has something about it that is very similar and I really wish I could try one on.
  3. How much does that run and did you show them the pics? Do they give that amount of protection stock to NHL'ers? Going to have to replace my Simmons 995 at some point in the next year I think, so I'm researching now.
  4. So...arm protection is lacking? That's a good one! I would not be happy if that is a reoccurring weak spot. I don't think I've ever gotten an arm bruise like that in my Simmons. Is it something you can beef up or just the way it's designed?
  5. Bump. How's this thing held up? No regrets?
  6. I couldnt find a link on goalie monkeys website yesterday, just the link provided above. I got the email notification today, does anyone know if the prices have updated in the last 24 hours?

I was incorrect then. I just got X2 Pro pants and thought I saw Thailand, but it must be Vietnam. My mistake. They can also certainly be shipping them by air, it just wouldn't be as cheap as ocean transit.

If the pads are completed in Thailand, and have to get to Canada, from a logistics standpoint, ocean transit time is 30-48 days, so add at least that time to get to the distribution center before they can ship to TGC (and if distribution comes from the U.S, then they need to be imported there first, then exported to Canada, before being re-imported to the U.S. if you live here.) Not likely to be shipped by air as that is a premium freight cost, and shouldn't be utilized by a manufacturer that needs to keep costs low. Warrior probably makes a bulk shipment once enough sets can be palletized for shipment. Assume that's, at minimum, at least 8-12 sets (not economical) all the way up to a half-container load (at least 64 sets). I'm assuming here on some of the stats, but wanted to try to help out with some understanding that shipping can be a beautiful thing and a logistical nightmare. They are more than likely not finishing each set and flying individually to their destination from Thailand, or they should hire me as their shipping manager.
  9. Well now that I see the set, I would get some yellow tape. Would accent nicely and you wouldn't possibly lose the puck when your eyes aren't right on the blade. Can't wait to see the pads in a pic!
  10. It'll look badass no matter what you do I'm sure!
  11. Having a few CR3's myself, the flex on your CR2 looks comparable. Now I really wanna try an M1 stick out. The M1 stick looks great as well as the tape, but no one says you can't use white tape! Either will work. I just re-did my blade tapejob last night for my street hockey stick and tried out a black outline over a white tape job. I liked it and think I would do white over black if I had your stick.
  12. Thank you sir, you are awesome!
  13. Thanks. Would love to try one sometime. Take video lol!
  14. How's the flex compared to the CR2? That much noticeably easier to bend?
  15. What do you have on your dangler there? That black lining looks custom. Sound muffling purpose?
  16. It's awesome. Very consistent. 3.5 year user of the sparx machine at my local rink. The outcome can vary by operator depending on how well they know the machine. I trust it very much. The 3x I tried a hand sharpening from 3 different shops, I couldn't wait to get back to the sparx sharpening.
  17. A new layer of padskinz or padwrap on the sliding surface may help.
  18. Agreed @Quadzilla32. 1st pic is most accurate imo. Straightest measurement.
  19. Not that it matters cause ftk sizing, but how tall are you guys? I'm 5'6" in my G2's but they've settled in the boot channel, and I land near the top of the landing gear now. 5'6 is listed as 32". I don't remember how much of an issue it was when I first got them. But were so stiff, especially in the boot break, it took over a year before I really liked them ( only playing a few times a month back at that time.) The knee elastic was not a good design, and I should have changed them out much sooner than I did. I feel like I could wear a 33" now, but a 33" might be super tall and clunky. Maybe I'd be better off in the GT series, if I need a softened G series. But I also need to make my pads last 6 years or more. On the opposite end, I've also considered getting intermediate 32+1's to save cash and increase mobility.
  20. Can you post some more glove pics and pics in general? Thanks for this, and I have enjoyed your previous reviews. Looking forward to updates.
  21. Been watching the daily deals for this one to try an intermediate stick. Finally just ordered.

Awesome! I wonder how much they weigh?
  23. I would suggest washing it with your other under things and air drying after each game. If you're breaking out, it could be for many reasons and that it's dirty. Could not. The neck, like the face, is usually extra oily and prone to breaking out with clogged pores. I used to be prone to staph infections and have done as I suggested above along with other precautions for many years now. I also wash my gear every 3-6 months (except skates and leg pads, although they get a good wipedown and Mr. Clean Magic Erasering). Also, wash anything new before you wear it the first time.
