  1. BOTH! (the technique). You get a pass if it's legit ghosty stuff. Just don't do a ghosted NHL logo like some Swedish guy we all know. P.S. did you coat the cage too?
  2. Looking good, @Doobiesnax You're a legit all black goalie, but you better be careful with ghosting images on your mask. Some people get real offended around here with those.
  3. It's basically this. There's a mask on here somewhere with red liner around the entire perimeter. Looks pretty awesome. I prefer clear.
  4. Thanks stackem. I'm not set on the skate place it's just what I had around that matched my set. I think baby blue chord would be the best but I'm not wanting that bad enough to search for it to buy. This mask is in line to be painted very soon (more on that in a full detail thread once it's done) so I'll probably then look for something that best contrasts the paint at the bottom of the mask. The stuff on the chin is rubber car door liner with it's own adhesive in the groove. It's just to deaden the clanking from the dangler. Surprised you don't know about it...there's a few posts about it somewhere on here. It's a life hack I learned on the GSBB bsck in the old days.
  5. First ever 0-0 tie for me a month or so ago. Been playing for a couple of decades, never had one before. 17 shot on me, 38 on the other goalie. It was so fun watching him play because we lit him up pretty good. We were both super excited and giddy in the handshake line.
  6. I imagine with the release of a new version of gear they get a huge bump in orders, which would be a very reasonable justification for a long wait.
  7. Weight plus "it takes too long to put on/off" when deduced from modern strapping marketing.
  8. Wow, @snidehockey You win, straight up. Congrats. Very impressive collection, even more impressive organization/presentation, and whoever your girlfriend/boyfriend, wife/husband is, that person is the most impressive Thanks for joining the forum, welcome aboard.
  9. Dogs are winning - 21, to Cats - 17, Rabbit - 1. Roughly.
  10. When I was a kid I wanted only three things as an adult: winter, hockey and a Siberian Husky. I'm a very fortunate guy
  11. Wow. I hadn't thought of that but their gear absolutely looks like MMA gloves. Good catch Naz.
  12. I'm all set for gear right now. I'll maybe cave in, oh......4-6 years. I'm willing to borrow/demo Warrior stuff tomorrow.
  13. Yeah, it's funny and sorta silly how impressionable we (humans) can be by things like celebrity and professional athletes. That same sillyness is of course very profitable. I'm definitely guilty of some *I like that goalie - he uses X - I want X*. It could be way more irrational than it is for me, but it's there, for sure. I don't fall for the latest and greatest versions and I also don't think of what I use or like as the best or superior for any particularly rational reason. I'm big on aesthetic components and one little feature will catch my eye and then I just need it, like a Sportmask cage with the wide center bar, for example. I have no problems with a little vanity. Familiarity is huge and I have a lifelong familiarity with Vaughn and no reason (yet) to venture out. If i had to tomorrow, I'd go to CCM. Why? Most similar to what I use now and I have been enormously influenced by their visibility. I've used Vaughn my whole life and my top 2 favorite goalies use Vaughn. The inverse is true for me, too: my least favorite company for gear in terms of appeal is Bauer and I subsequently find watching Bauer goalies in the NHL kinda boring. It's just not as exciting for me. I can't speak to Warrior in the NHL, but the appeal is there, for sure. Their gear seems very other, very revolutionary, and very foreign. It stands out by how unique it looks but I just don't have any practical experience with it and there is zero opportunity be be impressionable to it, so it's just sorta.....out there. Inaccessible.
  14. If I wasn't a regular on here and trust guys like you and a few others I would have almost zero access to anything Warrior other than sticks, which I use. I wish they had better visibility. Their gear is beautiful and very intriguing. I think it's the sexiest looking gear on the market.
  15. Yup. CCM and Vaughn. Starting to see more Bauer, too, but I think they're on their own for that. CCM is basically crushing it across the board right now. All speculation is based on visibility and Warrior has very poor visibility as a goalie gear company.
  16. It's possible, sure. Just as easy to speculate the opposite as well, for any of the companies. It's tough with Warrior for me, personally, because I have never touched any of their gear (minus a trip up to a shop in Surrey, BC), I regularly see only 1 goalie wearing their gear and I'm in rinks including lots of WHL games 2-4 times a week, and they are not visible on TV (again, sticks aside and only talking goalies). So I personally have very good reasons to speculate the opposite of you as an American in a relatively small hockey market (right now). Profit is just more earned than spent, so if they are small and super busy, it is quite likely Warrior is profitable. I think of Brian's as a great example of being perfect for speculation that they are profitable: tiny company that appears on some level of speculation to be very busy and producing lots of gear with great international television market exposure.
  17. That's great info, thanks for posting that. These are the types of details that really matter in our assessment of wait times. Your final question is the golden one.
