When I worked at monkey sports we had quite a few sets in the back that had these problems. That’s why those particular faulty sets were pulled from the shelves. The whole line was still available for purchase but any piece that had a blemish or defect was put into storage. CCM helmets, Vaughn gloves, Brian’s leg pads and blockers , some Bauer VTX helmets, warrior leg pads, etc. My point is no brand is exempt from such problems just the average consumer never sees it because retailers often don’t let them. That said sometimes these sets are for sale at a discount in store but that’s usually just for employees.

If you’ve ever worn a pair of Bauer pro pads on ice you see very quickly why they’re built the way they are and it’s awesome how they perform. That said they’re just not for me due to sizing and I’m not a fan of either of their gloves.

Turns out just like any other chest the hyperlite does have it’s issues. I’ve had mine just over 5 months and the elbow floaters have gone soft to the point I’m starting to really feel shots that aren’t on the bicep or forearm. My temporary solution is taking some padding out of the padded shirt I used to use with my shield 2 chest and just double sided taping that underneath the floater. Wasn’t really sure what thread this belongs on since it’s more of a minor change than new gear

Presumably you would purchase the liner and skate separate like you would with the steel for hyperlite player skates. Can anyone confirm?

Is the liner designed to fill those half sizes?

I hope if they do change it that the usual break is still available for those of us that like it.

From what I’ve heard pricing isn’t as bad as I originally thought so these might be my next skates. I’m getting beat way too often on the post with my two piece step true skates and they’re definitely taking their toll on my hips.

I always found it bizarre that no goalie in the ECHL is wearing warrior at the moment considering warrior sponsors the league and all.

Just sent Vaughn an email requesting details. Personally if I’m going to order SLR3 next season I’d like to know what I’m getting myself into.
