    Vaughn SLR 3

It’s not a full one piece block like bauer interestingly so I look forward to seeing how Vaughn did it
  2. That’s not nearly as long as the rumors have said, excellent.
  3. The quality alone isn’t worth the wait time. In order to warrant a 48 week wait time it better be innovative too which True gear hasn’t proved itself to be in the slightest. I’d much rather go through Vaughn than True if I wanted innovation and quality with supposedly long lead times. At least with Vaughn I know I can get a graphic I actually like. That said True reps seem to be some of the best in the business when it comes to customer satisfaction although I guess they have to be to make up for the awful reality that is True ignoring all of their retail orders. And yet you’ll probably still catch me wearing True skates a long time from now.
  4. Welcome! I'll definitely have to keep an eye out for those pink jerseys next time I'm at the rink late.
  5. Funny thing is I just saw these in Austin last night with a factorymad glove I believe.
  6. https://sidelineswap.com/gear/hockey/goalie/goalie-full-sets/3724518-brian-s-brian-subzero-pro-2-goalie-pads-vaughn-v7-pro-carbon-blocker-and-glove? These legendary pads are for sale again
  7. With all this talk of every "major" brand offering some kind of snug fitting, hot rebound, stiff knee block (except Brian's and True) leg pad this year I'll be interested to see who remains loyal and who branches out to a new brand. I feel the glove will be the deciding factor even more so than usual for 2022. Every major brand also offers a hot rebound blocker with a comfy suede palm (excluding Warrior, Brian's, and True), mobile cuff, and good finger protection. Any thoughts or additions?
  8. I don’t know what it is but these make my stomach churn they look wrong. It’s like they asked the esports team what they wanted and not actual goalies

Decisiveness is not one of my best features unfortunately. Don’t get me wrong, Eflex 5 isn’t bad by any means, hell I play pretty well in it but it doesn’t feel like home to me. I wore bauer last year as well but the lack of custom sizing is a big turn off.

Shhhhh I’m a very simple person and they left plenty to the imagination. I know what I like and Vaughn and Warrior happen to be the closest to it.

The bindingless sidewall on the blocker looks incredible. The pads also appear to have an angled knee stack similar to optik 2 and G5. Not sure why the shin on the pads is still so thick other than maybe to accommodate large knee pads. I wasn't expecting to say this but it's a very close race between SLR3 and G6 for me. It'll come down to which is cheaper rather than which is better since they seem so close.
  12. I don’t know what it is about the L20.2 but something just doesn’t look right to me. They just look wrong and I think it’s the True logos
  13. As far as leg pads go I agree. Glove looks to have minor, mostly aesthetic, changes to the backhand while the blocker sees to have molded, less clunky, finger protection and a new board shape.
  14. I'm not familiar with that rule but it does make me intrigued about how well the pads may slide considering that's pretty much what bauer was doing on 1s, 1x, and 2s if I remember correctly.
  15. Closure was questionable considering the palm seal, odd shape of the glove and the stiffness that wasn't even warranted because despite it being a pro palm there's a gap in the padding towards the pinky finger side of the glove which I received a couple bruises through. Warrior gloves haven't let me down yet so why change what works. I'm far from the first to appreciate this combo.
  16. Aside from team issued stuff this is the final piece of the puzzle Finally ready to perform this season and hopefully get plenty of game time despite it being my first year of juniors.
  17. I have a retail hyperlite chest protector and the unit is outstanding. Even as a former warrior chest user this is the most flexible and most protective chest protector I’ve ever used.
  18. I’m not sure if I have enough surface area for that one Now we’re talking
  19. None of them are thin enough I’m 6’0” and barely 130lbs
  20. It’s been far too long since I’ve skated with a team
