No kidding. Trying to sell my G4 set and people are trying to push for $400 even though it has no wear spots, factory core stiffness (I didn’t bend them), and glove has a G5 palm because that’s all I could find. The knee binding is also repaired for them.

33+1. For reference I wear a medium 2s pro and 34+1.5 warrior and the fit is spot on.

It feels nothing like my bauer glove. The bauer is a Reimer pro return 580.

The glove I received is a game ready but it’s still pretty stiff (think of it like a traditional game ready ccm). It’s labeled as a 590/60° style glove but feels very very different from its ccm counterparts. The ice time I got yesterday was in net against 14u aa kids and just about every shot to the palm was a stinger. However it is a terrific puck playing glove and not awful to catch with (so long as you get the puck in the pocket) even though I’m not really a fan of 590s. I’m waiting for supreme style or 580 jrz gloves to be released before I order.

Picked this set up for $750 I’ve been wanting to try out a JRZ set for a good while and after yesterday’s ice time with them I’m a huge fan of every piece except the glove. There’s a very high chance I order one of these sets after the new gloves are released

Personally I’ve noticed G4 increasing in value due in part to people getting G5 only to find out it’s not for them. Hence why my modified G4 set is going up for sale today.

I rarely bend my leg pads so G5 softening was definitely a surprise. When I had G5 and G4 I was on the ice every day for 1-2 hours each day. I believe the reason most of my leg pads stay stiff isn’t just because I’m lighter but because I don’t ever lean on them. I like my leg pads straight as boards. I used the same set of prolaces on G4 and G5 as well as had them strapped the exact same way but I never felt like I was moving easily in them every movement felt more forced than normal. Maybe I had them too tight who knows. G5 also seemed to lack rebound velocity compared to G4 which could be due to G4’s tighter laced in face. Currently using a 2s pro set that feels more like home than the G5 set ever did (used to be a big premier guy so I guess that makes sense)

If you like G4 be warned G5 will feel very different. The leg pads feel nothing alike for better or for worse when playing in them. G5 Sr maybe be stiffer at first but it will break down so much quicker than G4 pro. Both are true single break pads. I don’t care how many videos y’all claim to have watched I have used both G4 pro and G5 sr on the ice for several months each.

Looking more into newer models that need a little bit of repaired stitching and such as well as stuff put on sale by SidelineSwap this week. Partly because I want to test some different gear to better decide what I want this upcoming season

Updating stick status I now have a 24in axis and love it. So much better blocker positioning and more active stick side

That’s actually why I wanted a shorter stick! It’s more comfortable to bend just your knees with a shorter stick than with a taller stick for me
