  1. I should be able to test fit them both today if work isn’t busy. I’ll be sure to let y’all know if I do.
  2. Reviving this. Any updates on whether or not a ccm cage fits on a warrior helmet?
  3. Younger kid here: I absolutely love drop-ins whether or not I know anyone there. Gives me a chance to kinda let loose and play some hockey nobody truly tries at. This means I don’t have to worry about getting hurt and I don’t have to worry about letting any dumb goals in because it simply doesn’t matter. For those of us still playing competitive hockey, drop-in is a very welcome change of pace. I’ll still occasionally work on the technical aspect of my game during drop-in but I won’t bag myself ever.
  4. I think it’s a result of warriors coveredge (a full size reinforced outer roll) making the pads look wider
  5. Just good ol retail straight from bauers site
  6. I’ve had mine on the ice twice now and the padding is ridiculous. Maybe too ridiculous cause it is super toasty to wear
  7. It is a sad day in the world of thatcarguy. Went to replace the cv’s on my Subaru only to find they had rusted into the knuckle . Guess I’m getting more bearings and a new knuckle in addition to the cv’s. On the bright side the stupid heat shield rattle is fixed along with the wind noise
  8. At work selling gear and plotting my next purchase all while throwing a lacrosse ball around
  9. And that is why this thread exists Thanks @seagoal
  10. Already finished BU hence the hyperlite chesty That said I’ll never turn down additional discounts but more than likely my ccm 580 will be my go to glove once I get my set
  11. First ice time with my new chesty done. Safe to say this thing is outstanding. A little bit toasty but that maybe have more to do with it being 100° outside. The same slap shot that dented my goalieparts cage (a rare occurrence for those not familiar with goalieparts cages) was barely felt through the bicep. It felt broken in out of the box but somehow became even easier to move in as the practice went on. No glove mobility interference either. Without a doubt my new favorite CA. It also feels like this presents a little bigger than my shield 2 under a jersey without feeling nearly as bulky.
  12. Very excited to hopefully get my hyperlite chest tomorrow just in time for camp next week. The padding in my shield 2 is just about worn out now. Also very excited to see that @TheGoalNet had a good experience with his speedskin EF5s. I’ve gotten a lot of flack from the other goalie guys at the store for ordering a speedskin sliding surface and I too have given speedskin some shit in the past but I’m willing to put that behind in favor of my potentially new favorite pad
  13. Somehow stumbled across the lightest gear thread earlier today and that got me thinking. What would the lightest pro level goalie skates look like? Here's my idea There is a chance these become my skates at some point in the future since I'm starting to prefer the forward pitch again and CCM's custom boots are unmatched at retail. Thoughts?
  14. I’ll let you know. Definitely feels smaller than premier thankfully. I got the last medium on bauers website
  15. I'm kind of limited to CCM at the moment as far as sets go sadly. Maybe next year. Haven't worn a ccm style pad since my XLT's and never worn an eflex pad before
  16. Glad to hear it. I’ll go through with purchasing the glove once it’s available then
  17. I’m seeing super mixed reviews and videos on the new 600 out of the box closure. I’m considering buying one since I know a place to get EF5 600s pretty cheap but need to know what I’m getting in to. I catch well with the 600 and the 580 the 580 is just a bit ugly and broken looking though. I’ve also heard puck playing with a 600 isn’t exactly easy. Any thoughts on closure and puck handling abilities?
  18. Really just looking for advice here. I’m currently enrolled in online self paced school as well as working a full time job at monkey sports to pay for my own gear and help pay for my season. I’m also still working out every day to stay in shape for the season but overall it’s taken a pretty big toll on me and my ability to do any of those things well. I was enrolled into online school nearly two months late and I’ve since fallen farther behind due to exhaustion and time constraints. I’ve missed nearly 3 weeks worth of hours despite starting a month ago at work because of combines and tryouts. I’m also no longer able to consistently do my off ice for the same reasons as school. Any suggestions?
  19. I will get so much shit for this from any fellow Texans but in my personal opinion French’s makes the best barbecue sauce. Yes yes “good barbecue doesn’t need sauce” but it’s not like the sauce makes it any worse. Especially French’s.
  20. I’ll leave this to the people who actually know what they’re talking about haha. I started working only about a month or so ago and just work the retail floor. All the shipping stuff happens in the warehouse.
  21. Think of pineapple pizza as just sweet pizza. Having parents from and tons of family in the Deep South has softened me so that sweeter is almost always better.
