  1. Last game of my high school hockey career. Good times have been had but now on to better things. Oh and the new set got its first shutout.
  2. First on ice impressions, they’re too curved for how stiff they are but that’s an easy fix. Other than that I love the set. Not to mention it looks killer with the white pants.
  3. Black weave, graphite grey, and white. Glove closes like a dream. Hoping to get it on the ice tonight if I can find anywhere. Not to mention this is my first ever custom set
  4. I’m not sure if an email was sent out to those with custom ccm sets on order or not but there’s currently an additional two week delay due to covid. EF5 pro sticks have been delayed indefinitely as well. That said, my set just arrived and I’ll pick it up later today
  5. Wasn’t sure where to put this but I didn’t realize Warrior could put toe bridges on custom pads now Thanks to that find I’m plotting for next season
  6. 5 years is incredible for one piece skates! Or any skates for that matter. Changing steel is doable but risky. If you over tighten the blade you could crack the composite more. If you leave it too loose you could risk unnecessary flex making the space for the blade even bigger. Sounds like you don’t have much to lose considering how long those skates have lasted you though.
  7. Had the same thing happen to my one piece skates after they were just over a year old but thankfully true replaced them with two pieces free of charge.
  8. I’m sure many of you have heard by now but unfortunately Pekka Rinne has retired leaving the door wide open for Saros
  9. Now you’re speaking my language
  10. Saw these gems on SidelineSwap today. It’s exactly what it looks like, brand new Nike Bauer XIX boots in a Vertexx cowling. Seller is asking $130 size 8 for anyone wondering. https://sidelineswap.com/gear/hockey/goalie/goalie-skates/3486025-bauer-brand-new-old-stock-nike-vapor-xix-goalie-skates?referral_code=ThatCarGuy334
  11. The best one is “all y’all” in my personal opinion
  12. Well now I’m interested to hear your opinion on the words y’all and ain’t as well as many other southern terms. I was looked at very strangely in Wisconsin whenever I’d said y’all.
  13. That would be my guess since I wear a 34+1.5 warrior and ordered a 33+2 ccm set
  14. Trying to avoid the ccm holders if possible. It’s too close to the start of my season to get used to a new pitch
  15. I was also told there’s some issues when drilling one piece boots. Something about losing lots of structural integrity or it’s just flat out difficult.
  16. I’m reviving this because I don’t feel my problem deserves a new thread. As many of you know the True STEP holder is being replaced and discontinued in favor of the new Shift holder. My steel is starting to get pretty short and with no new replacement steel being made it’s getting increasingly harder to use these skates. My question is what holder can I have put on my skates that would require the least amount of new holes drilled?
  17. I can now officially confirm that ccm cages do in fact fit on warrior goalie masks. When I get my R/F1 I'll be putting a certified cat eye on it for the extra style points and since I can't wear a pro cat eye in my league.
  18. What can I say I missed being able to scoop the puck flat off the ice and missed playing the puck effectively. And of course that “ew you use a warrior glove I could never because I’ve dedicated my body and soul to *insert brand here*”
  19. As quickly as I joined the small club of 580s I’ll be leaving soon. Just placed an order for a G5 glove to match my Eflex set
  20. I should be able to test fit them both today if work isn’t busy. I’ll be sure to let y’all know if I do.
  21. Reviving this. Any updates on whether or not a ccm cage fits on a warrior helmet?
  22. Younger kid here: I absolutely love drop-ins whether or not I know anyone there. Gives me a chance to kinda let loose and play some hockey nobody truly tries at. This means I don’t have to worry about getting hurt and I don’t have to worry about letting any dumb goals in because it simply doesn’t matter. For those of us still playing competitive hockey, drop-in is a very welcome change of pace. I’ll still occasionally work on the technical aspect of my game during drop-in but I won’t bag myself ever.
