I get an absurd amount of ice time so thankfully break in won’t be an issue. Very glad to hear that rebound control isn’t terrible. The only reasons I’m considering this over hyperlite is I’m not a fan of the way hyperlite looks under a jersey and Optik 2 was my backup plan if I couldn’t find a beefed up shield 2 whereas 2x just didn’t feel all that comfortable

G2, G4, and GT all had this issue for me. Shield 2 has been outstanding in terms of absorbing pucks

Highly considering one of these chests lately since my shield 2 is starting to break down. Any first hand experiences on how good it is at absorbing pucks? Had some bad past experiences with warrior chests shooting the rebounds about 3-4ft in front of me even if I sat back to absorb it.

Finally got the payment for my EF5 set to go through. I think I shared the specs but left out the pictures last time though Apologies in advance if this is a double post

Axis and EF5 both don’t have sport gold in regular jenpro or weave, only speedskin. EF4 was the last ccm line of gear to have sport gold weave sadly.

Come to think of it maybe Saros didn’t like speedskin. He’s traditionally been a jenpro or weave kind of guy so when ccm stopped offering those in sport gold that may have been part of why he switched

Considering I have a bauer built 580 that works perfectly I’m not too worried

Hopefully my 580 turns out better than the one they had on the floor. Even for a 580 it was pretty bad

Guessing he wasn’t a fan of the changes in EF5 or he couldn’t get the options he wanted anymore

I will say the EF5 580 has got to be one of the ugliest built gloves I’ve ever seen. I almost ordered the 600 anyways purely for that reason. Next time I’m at monkey sports I’ll get comparison pictures

The new 600 is pretty sweet but just doesn’t feel right on my hand. I’m assuming it’s perfect for him. That’s why there’s 3 different break angles I guess

Not sure if I’m allowed to show this yet. The only pads I had access to were intermediate 32s but they felt incredible. Totally different pad than EF4. Much stiffer thigh, better seal, very odd twist when they do flex creating an even better seal. Most importantly super comfortable.

Personally I love 3 on 3 but it’s normally half ice 3 on 3. There are divider boards that’s the place in the center of the ice which means it’s pretty easy for me to get shots and occasionally goals on net. 3 on 3 is one of my favorites because it tests how well you can play your depth and how hard you can battle to make a save.
