  1. Nice pics. Ottawa boy is in the top division?
  2. But that would mean I would have to do the work. ?
  3. Because that would make sense. But really, probably would cost at least $15 I'm assuming. An extra 5$ to let buddy to get another crack at it is fine. Used the ARS straps (no boot strap) in a game last night and they felt really good. When I get the prolaces back, I'll swap them out and figure out which one I prefer.
  4. https://www.inlinewarehouse.com http://www.goaliecages.com Either one works. You're looking at about $110 after shipping an everything
  5. Yea, that's the internal of almost any glove. lol. Pretty standard
  6. I'm not really sure what you're referring to? Do you have a picture?
  7. stitching on one of the velcro tabs as come undone allowing the elastic to retract in the sheath. So on one set, I have a velcro tab that works normally and a velcro tab that's essentially just skate lace.
  8. At least Michel at Pro Laces responds quickly. Just need to ship them out and they'll do the repairs for free. Too bad it's going to cost half of the price just to ship these back to Quebec. *sigh*
  9. Had one of the elastics come loose inside the skate lace mid game. Disconnected from the Velcro tab. Pretty disappointed at the moment.
  10. They're still a pretty new styled pad. Depending on the age of guys around here, old styled pad means many things. For some of the older memebers on this site, it's deer leg pads Others it's pre-butterfly era pads (80's/90's) For others it's early velocity styled pads (V2-V4).
  11. Aren't you just adorable. Thinking that Ventus pads are an older style.
  12. To become an elitist like myself, you require a huge inflation of your own self importance. Having full length mirrors in every room is a good way to jump start that mentality. Nah, no little elitists on the way or any time soon. There's still a wedding to plan and then a few years after that.
  13. Sup fellas, I want to contribute to this thread despite being an active member for a while. Been playing goal for about 8 years. Played as a shitty house defenseman until I was 16, took six years off and jumped into goaltending. Always loved the position, patents are just to cheap to pay for me to be a goalie. Don't blame em, my kids are all going to play soccer. Currently playing for two teams full time and four as their backup. Highest div is going against ex Jr B players and lifetime Rep guys. Lowest div is some serious ankle bending hockey. Anywho, I'm around, may as well spew my history.
  14. Thing is, with a soft pad, you do get to control the rebounds a bit. You can get them to die or go far depending on you you direct it. Hard pads all kind of have one setting so to speak.
  15. My R/GT's used to kick out rebounds but have softened up as well. That's the life of a "hybrid"pad. Unless you go to a stiff pad you're going to find that along the lines. However, pads have bee coming out with hard faces and softer boots. While the 1x is still a super stiff pad from top to bottom, the new premiers, G4's and Optik fly's and SLR's all have decent flex at the boot. Check out those ones if you want hard rebounds with a softer boot.
  16. I won't be. I'll be transferring the cat eye to the VTX. Also means that I'm going to have three sets of straight bar cages in case anyone wants em.
  17. Out with the old and in with the new. Thanks to the lovely fiancée chipping in as a bday/Xmas present, I've upgraded from my Bauer C2 lid to the new VTX. Just need to grab a new cateye (thanks Canada) and I'll be all set. Definitely excited to jump up into the pro level of protection for the old noggin.
  18. How about no? Rioting is our thing.
  19. How is that problematic in any shape? The difference is whether or not it's done in respect or in fun of. See Blackhawks vs Redskins.
  20. I'm sure if they did anything associated with the Natives, they'd be able to do it tastefully and with a nod back to the art style. Like you said, the seahawks have that in their logo, as do the Canucks. It's pretty ingrained in our culture up here. I think they should resuse the old Whalers colours. Mostly because it would be neat to have an inverse colour scheme to the Canucks.
  21. I'll agree with you about the King's B/W being super boring, but I would not be able to stomach if they brought back the Lakers colours. The Vancouver Grizzlies rocked that colour scheme while they were here. I wouldn't be too surprised if that snuck in.
  22. I'd love to road trip down. Sure beats going to to Alberta.
