  1. For those curious, I ended up getting a 2007 Honda Ridgeline in fairly good shape with only 193,000km. It's a guzzler but I'm happy with my first pick-up. A good mid sized starter IMO.
  2. Used a half dozen times maybe. In very good shape. Asking 50$ CAD + shipping. I'm in Gatineau Quebec (next to Ottawa), J8Y 3M4. Pics available upon request.
  3. The cages are custom built, one at a time for the customer. Mine was built for my Reidic. Being that the steel is thicker than your typical cage, there is a natural margin of adjustment needed. I wouldn't want a cage, no matter the brand, to be so soft that it would bend or break with a simple wrister. A mask needs some give to help absorb some of the energy which then transfers to the foam. My Reidic has done its job well seeing that it's a high quality ABS shell. I agree, fit is primary. My question here though is simply finding a short wrap clip to secure the lower part of the cage.
  4. I'm looking for something specific but figured we could add lots more into the topic as it goes along. The clips that hold your cage to your shell...I'm not crazy, I know there has to be different lengths of clips available, right? I swear I had some at some time. My Optimus cage (Anges Gardiens) is much more ample than my original cat-eye and I need 2 shorter clips so I can secure the bottom of the cage to the chin without having to bend and warp the regular size ones. Hardware stores or online somewhere? Anyone?
  5. So what you're saying is that you can only move your leg if you pull down on your ear? You're really going to cheat us out on that exciting sequel? You say that but you haven't really spent any personal time with us yet Quick strong recovery brother
  6. I see that the Muay Thai classes didn't pay off, those knees are soft Joking aside, I first want to wish you a good strong recovery overall. Take your time. Rushing things at our age doesn't work anymore. If you do decide to hang them up, 60 is a good time. You've played long enough to have squeezed all that you could out of the sport yet young enough that you can pick up another sport or practice that is better tailored to your new situation. I decided that 60 was it. I've got 5 years left to push it hard and still compete. The injuries are more common and I don't want to not be able to enjoy other things in life. I trail run, I can get back into cycling, I can get back into martial arts, I love dancing, I go to the gym and workout hard twice a week. I will probably stay involved with the position as a coach still, but that remains to be seen. Happy recovery and don't forget to renew your Super Dave Club membership card
  7. @ArdeFIN any updates on your shoulder mod? Can you post a pic and/or explain how you attached them to the unit? Caught one there last week in my Bauer 2S and it killed. It was tender for a week and is now black and blue. I'm gonna have to Magiver that with parts from used forward shoulder pads or some knee guards. Bauer could of added some kind of foam bar like Brown or a Tear drop like Vaughn to help.
  8. Did you get the senior or intermediate bag? Is the measurements from end to end or just the main compartment?
  9. I don't mind feeling shots really, I prefer it to know where to look for the rebound, but this one caught me wrong. Was hard working with it today. I'm a have to mod it or look elsewhere
  10. I had that one, but not for long. I might of even had my own review up here somewhere. I found everything to kinda all slip down to the bottom and while walking, the bag kept hitting my outside calf. I didn't put my pads in it though, I find it hard on my posture. Maybe I could try it again someday. It was definitely an interesting bag.
  11. Shoulder injuries with the 2S? Got nailed in the right shoulder with a wrister, right on the front delt where it meets the bicep. It hurt good and my arm is stiff 2 hours after the game. It'll definitely be worse in the morning and the bruise should start kicking in by tomorrow. Moving the arm are difficult and uncomfortable. That spot on the c/a is clearly a open and vulnerable spot. Now I'm wondering if it's worth keeping. I got the same kinda shot with the same result yet lesser pain and discomfort on my left shoulder 2-3 weeks ago. Any other users get hurt there?
  12. Yeah, he was kinda vague on the prospects, stated a few locations but without an official PTC confirmation. The market is so tuff right now and he's just a couple years under 30 while a few in the show in their mid 30s decided to hang them up. The pressure must be present I'm sure.
  13. Looking at that knee bend, it just doesn't seem right, kinetically and ergonomically speaking. Our legs fold at the ankle and the knee joints. It should be a straight structure from above the ankle up to the knee area itself and then a break or bend above the knee to close that gap/5 hole. Just my opinion. I've seen it done before in the past. Makes more sense. I even notice it on my Warriors.
  14. 1. I cringed when I saw Whitney drop the new gear on the driveway asphalt like that. I mean, Kas isn't NHL budget still or yet again, otherwise he wouldn't be flipping his own gear off of GGSU and company. 2. If he is testing CCM or actually crossing over from his long used Bauer relationship, maybe Europe is over and done with? 3. If it was CCM that reached out, I can't help but wonder if Brian's or even Warrior (should he play Europe again) gave him a shout? I'm guessing that glove will be a night-and-day kind of experience coming from Bauer.
  15. Warrior was IMO the first and only company that put out senior level, not pro, gear that was more than adequate in protection. I'm not saying it would hold up to NHL/AHL/ECHL or D1/Major Junior but, if you look at what Martin Brodeur wore for the longest time before switching to the Vaughn c/a (if he ever really wore it outside the promo pics), the difference is staggering. Warrior is on a whole other level...on their own...almost untouchable really. Now if only they DID come out with a legal pro-spec c/a, I'd be all over their non pro senior unit.
  16. You're already making the trip so, just drop by and see. You got nothing to lose.
  17. Well, if their slight increase in prices is not an indication, we should find out soon during the season, or at least camps. If anything, it most likely will be pads and gloves. They'll have to downsize on the c/a and pants before it can be accepted. Pogge wore some Warrior but only in Europe I think.
  18. I don't have pics but, I saw Kas wife Whitney do a Instagram post with some new all white CCM gear. Is he leaving Bauer? Hmmm
  19. I hope they keep some of his current designs and doesn't up his prices too much. No mention who the new business partner is?
  20. Funny this came up. My AHL Rockets goalie cut seems like it shrunk after washing it. Is this possible? This never happened to any other of my jerseys. My XL Bauer 2S c/a gives me the worst trouble when I try to slip on the jersey. Arm blocks won't stay straight or square
