They don't need to do that bc people talk already, why do u think NHL charge brands so much for advertising?!? Stupid kids use to buy gear with the NHL badge on it thinking it was great but social media killed that. Only stupid kids need validation of the gear they have. That's why they bauer vaughn and ccm underarmour sponsors certain schools and leagues and teams. U think TPS was great gear in 94-96 that all CHL goalies wear it, some even had it ghost by lefverbe ( garon blocker with tigers)
  5. Combination of lie, paddle , shape of blade including toe and heel, paddle shape shoulder. nhl legal paddle goalie length is where it is 3”wide starting point not where the shaft connects with the paddle And going down to heel. At the shaft middle not the bottom side of paddle. they don’t list lie bc blades are rocker now except for p31 mostly speaking and some other ones. if u want the proper positioning find a pro goalie that ur height and size and use their pattern and modify accordingly.
  6. diff lie is going to throwoff the comparison and the shape of the blade. 2 sticks of same length, one is bent 90 degree and other is straight . Are they the same?!?!
  7. now throw some plastic on the back side to straighten it back up while still maintaining the curve depending on how thick and pliable the plastic is.
  8. if u want to stiffen up the thigh rise u can put some plastic on the backside down the slot where the velcro is, add a lace so u can pull it back out, drill a hole in the plastic. this will make it a double break or precurve.
  9. not everyone has the same size foot vs shin area or height.
  10. Thats actual not true, Pete Smith designed the Velocity while working at Don simmons , it would not have gain acceptance until a main company put it in main stream , when Mike VAughn hired Pete, the story is on GSBB somewhere.
  11. It depends on so many factors that it wouldn't matter. for example is the product custom or stock? material avail - stock or rare?, weather hold, customs, holidays, time of year, labor strike, retailer in good standings, sports association buying group, canada or europe and or US. personal health, too many to list. new rules and regulation , back orders,... etc.
  12. if u want to reverse that into a single break, let me know i'll show you how. I use to think i need double break like my old smith 5000, but single break works well for me and more coverage when standing and bent, similar to a pre curve. on the g3 its really flexible pro pads had to stiffen it up.
  13. That's why u only let noicing or a real professional sharpen the skates so they don't butcher the profile and they last longer. At 6-7 $ per sharpening its way cheaper to mail couple pairs to noicing then pay local 10$ to butcher and screw it up. even with the 14 $ 2 way return shipping, its still chepear overall
  14. SAM is technically not a triple radius, its 10' radius in the front, 27' radius in the back, and 50 mm flat in the middle of the blade. If you want non-slipout push use CAG, it puts a flat spot in the middle of the blade so you have more contact when pushing, complete opposite of single radius in the middle of the blade. Most shops don't tell you this because they don't have CAG machine or machine that can put flat spot only radius on blade.
  15. 1 & 2)just stick to noicing if u r in the states, fill out the questionnaire and he'll use that to factor in what u should get. the reference profile is just marketing to sell the jig to the pieces u could just say what you want. most goalies have a a combo profile of radius and or cag. you do this to get the blade shape you want regardless of skate blade brand. its all about balance and mobility. 3. stock is 30' steep and tydan, massive is 50', mfg might now alway be perfect and that is like a blank clay asking to be molded. 4. just go with noicing 5. send it in to professionals, random places butcher the skates, get multiple pairs of blades.
  16. instead of buying 3 chest protectors over 10 years at 400-500 each u buy one at 700. u save long term
  17. not really as it will last 10 + years, most will last 1 to 1/2 under heavy use most beer leaguers prob 3-5 max depending on usage.
  18. All the stuff they have u probably can make over the weekend with some beer and trip to home depot for under 5-10$ and save 500%.
  19. I bought 3 sets thinking it was good, bc step edge was on back order, there was not any choice. I now have 2 set of massive + dlc which is couple mm taller then tydan. The edge hold is night and day vs tydan. Thiis is coming from a 9 skate and cag 80/160 on 1/4 roh coming in at 212lb or so.
  20. tydan is not equivalent, massive is in line with step might even be better. STep edge not available in states and is always on backorder for 3 months even during off season. massive has better pricpoint and quality compared to tydan who is taking advantage of step lack of distribution in the states and riding the coat tail.
  21. Brown c/a last long bc the blocks are plastic and arms not Hd foam. it does not breakdown over time. My Brown I had for over 12+ years still good except for the hottest days or humid days. Back in 2002 my c/a was like 500$ bucks when most were 300$ top of the line us funds. I had the Patrick Roy spec Brown c/a, open back, additional side plastic on the elbows.
