  1. From my memory the 2s glove wasn’t bad by any means. Bauer gloves in general work better with hard shots than warrior from my experience. Plus it’s super easy to float the tee since the finger and palm perimeter laces are separate. The pads generally sit low on the skate so sometimes the calf strap just sits on top of the boot of the skate. If you don’t strap across the knee you may have tons of over rotation or miss the knee block completely off the back.
  2. One of us. One of us. One of us. Btw it’s easy to make a Mach out of a 2s blocker if you have a seam ripper. Highly recommend ditching the lower calf strap on the pads and running across the knee.
  3. They definitely don’t need it though!
  4. From the sound of it the only thing carried over from 590 is the shape. No finger stalls would allow you to make the glove feel close to any break you want.
  5. If I have to grab a clip or two from the product orientation videos I’ll do so.
  6. I’ve seen Bauer’s employee product orientation videos (bauer university). They specifically say the skate is modeled after a ski boot. If you’d like to argue with bauer themselves about what has been said be my guest. I’ve worn this skate and while a hinged boot isn’t new to skates it’s much further refined than ever and can hugely affect mobility in butterfly and on your feet.
  7. As far as performance boots are concerned no but in the hockey skate industry just about everything besides the blade and holder is new. Virtually all of the tech and materials are carried over from ski boots and rightfully so. If you’re going to make a skate modeled after a ski boot why use anything but the source?
  8. I asked the same question awhile back and pulled up some of the answers I got. Stabiliflex knee, long boot strap, hyperlite core with thin shin and 120 degree boot angle. It’s his own custom mold. Basically he’s built himself a lighter pad than ultrasonic or Mach with the same boot angle and flex. Pretty smart if you ask me.
  9. Full ultrasonic set. Mid flex pads supposedly. No idea beyond that. It’s hard to know for sure since Vasilevskiy uses an offline order sheet just like all pros meaning it’s harder to pin down his specs.
  10. No worries that’s completely understandable. I actually didn’t order speedskin on my Eflex set for the sliding surface and still got it for some reason. Supposedly sometime between last summer and now, corporate talked to our retail floor manager and basically told him take care of the employees better or he’s out. Since then haven’t had an issue.
  11. Order actually placed at last for my Mach set. Meaning I finally have an order number and it’s paid for. For whatever reason this took much longer than my last EPP set
  12. As odd a guy as he was he truly did mean well and helped me with a lot going on in my personal life as well as hockey over the past couple years. Without him who knows what kind of mess I'd be in right now or how much control I'd really have over my life.
  13. Vasilevskiy uses a boot angle on his pads us retail peasants can’t order. Bauer has a two different kinds of pro stock pants and every single one of them is custom padded to the users liking. Vasy’s helmet is a NME One with 960XPM padding. Vanecek uses 2s pro gloves. Reimer uses a 580 and 2x pro leg pads that have a completely custom core. Brossoit has completely custom pads from the inside out. Not everything is as it seems. Right now the only proper NHL pro stock pads any of us can order without high level connections is CCM and True.
  14. As someone who sells the “same as what the pros use” products, none of it even comes close to the specs and adjustments those guys have had made to their equipment to take the beating it does. Anyone who’s owned nhl pro stock goalie pants can attest to how much heavier and beefier they are than even the best retail pant.
  15. Can’t wait for my supervisor to actually send my order to bauer so I can get that whole process started. Such a pain.
  16. It’s still a 1x pad so the knee block isn’t quite solid enough to ditch the knee strap. Plus I’m not sure I’m a fan of the professor strap. I’ll have to see how the pads play without it
  17. Problem solved with a Lundy loop and new tighter knee strap. Also used a hyperlite professor strap just in case but next skate I’ll try going without it.
  18. The 1X pads are desperately in need of a knee flap (the previous owner had cut them off). I’ve never fallen off a knee block so much. That said they still slide better and kick rebounds harder than my Eflex’s.
  19. Wouldn’t know for sure unless I had one to use for at least a month
  20. Yeah yeah, I tried one on a few days ago it’s not as awful as I would’ve expected.
  21. Knew I was forgetting something. Sticks are a 25in V1 Pro+ and a 24in Hyperlite. Both standard shoulders. Hyperlite has a P31 round toe, V1 has a TWT curve. Bauer seems to be a flatter lie (maybe 14?) I’m pretty sure warriors are lie 15. Personally I prefer playing with the warrior.
  22. Just heard retail stock is still estimated to be another 4-6 weeks out for the store I’m at.
  23. The off season set is complete. Got sick of the seal, where they put rebounds, and how soft my Eflexes are so decided to pick up a pair of 1X pads. Never worn 1X a day in my life only 2S so we’ll see how this goes. At least they were cheap and in pretty solid shape (Really wishing I got this graphic on my Mach set instead of stock)
