Personally I hold my stick on the shaft with the glove much higher than the paddle like so (sorry no picture evidence of myself since I don’t play the puck much)
A blocker should have no issues holding a stick but the pentagrip certainly makes it easier especially for guys with bigger hands.
It fills the negative space in your your palm making the stick easier to hold.
I’ve heard of people sniffing glue but I don’t think smoking it would be a great idea
Here’s a grip I’ve been doing for a season now
All slight adjustments in hopes of mimicking the feel of the pentagrip. Basically just tape rolled up into a rough shape and then taped over to give a similar feel. Taping shoulders with standard tape is hard if anyone has tips please share them

I use this from time to time but would love to see a more detail oriented tracker focused on certain specs like untucked vs tucked chest, boot straps, Bauer pad core flexes and boot angles, etc.
I get any stick that has a chip or minor crack. If he doesn’t want it they just give them away or auction them online to fans. He told me 25in and P31 when I asked though his stick definitely felt a little more whippy so it could have been a V2 underneath not V1. Sadly I’m no longer in Austin to stock up on sticks.
If you’d like I can try and ask for a few next season. Their equipment managers have given me a few of his sticks as well as ordered a few in my own team colors. I had to pay of course for the ones in my team colors since they were new
I was told roughly the same thing regarding Bauer. The store I work at currently has a total of 3 pairs of Bauer leg pads, 0 Bauer pro catchers and one hyperlite blocker. With a lot of the Bauer stuff being pushed so far back that potentially puts me in a tight spot for gear next season.
Also 0 youth goalie equipment from head to toe in any brand.
Not necessarily a new gear siting but thought it was an odd gear choice. Vasy doesn’t wear his wrist straps on his chest for some reason.
To my memory he’s not the only one doing this but I’m struggling to find pictures. If anyones curious I’m slowly making a list of stand out specs and strapping choices that show up on nhl goalies but not at my local rinks.
He’s not the only one but by far the worst about it
No idea how he gets his pads to sit like that and how that boot angle is so flat but I kind of like it.
Just found out an old goalie partner of mine landed a role as a goalie in a Disney production. Huge props for him and I look forward to seeing his smug face on a screen lol
Axis 2 is an extremely hard pad designed to kick pucks out. Eflex with the control foam face would be your best bet within ccm. I believe @TheGoalNet got the control foam face.
