  1. Can second this, too much PPF gets too crazy.
  2. I have an actual Koho 580 for free, it's in rough shape. Fun project if you want to do a refurb!
  3. Have to be blunt, doesn't sound like you are going into this with an open mind?
  4. Wonder if it is something with the ice conditions itself? I am sorry you are experiencing this. It does suck. It is a known issue and something that shouldn't exist in the future though
  5. pretty sure those morph back though...
  6. Like any pair of skates, it depends on your feet. Other than playing with the buckle tightness on the lower buckle, I have done 0 mods. The more "unique" your feet are, the more likely you are to have to do some mods. What skates are you wearing now? Do you have any issues with them and the fit?
  7. pics? Don't follow what you're referring to
  8. Unfortunately, the pre-Mach Bauer pads do you have yellowing issue. Also, being that those are Pro stock, it's possible that Elvis has an even earlier skin and the pads might be extra bad toward yellowing. Bauer has worked on this with every generation. Does the room you store these in get a lot of sun light? Every let them dry outside?
  9. This is not unique to Bauer or goalies... Pros don't like change. Players and goalies of all brands are using old models skinned as new ones. This does not mean an NXG is better than a Mach, it means a guy got used to the feel of NXG and didn't feel like changing to save 30g.
  10. Good call reviving this! Here is the new Warrior R/M2i 26" paddle. Note, Warrior 26 = Bauer & CCM 25"
  11. you are definitely a stats professor in real life
  12. To go a different way, who has the best stable of NHL goalies... True Bauer Brian's CCM Vaughn
  13. Correct, he switched in Ana and Bauer got a Christmas present when Lou traded for him in TO up and coming goalie, hot new product, and hockey's biggest market was finally good again
  14. Holy shit! We agree on something... I would have Ullmark as a clear 5th though. His posts always seem popular on Instagram, he plays in a major US market, he's European, and he usually has very unique custom pads. Other than like winning a Vezina, there are not many boxes he does not check. Also surprised no one else mentioned Sorokin, tons of interest in him on IG.
  15. Leave him be... We don't need to carry over beef from one thread to another
  16. Outta curiosity, who do you think the most influential goalie in Bauer is? Give me top 5 - Craig Anderson - (Buffalo Sabres) - Laurent Brossoit - (Vegas Golden Knights) - Filip Gustavsson - (Minnesota Wild) - Connor Ingram (Arizona Coyotes) - Spencer Knight - (Florida Panthers) - Charlie Lindgren - (Washington Capitals) - Spencer Martin - (Vancouver Canucks) - Elvis Merzlikins - (Columbus Blue Jackets) - Jake Oettinger - (Dallas Stars) - James Reimer - (San Jose Sharks) - Ilya Sorokin - (New York Islanders) - Cam Talbot - (Ottawa Senators) - Logan Thompson - (Vegas Golden Knights) - Linus Ullmark - (Boston Bruins) - Vitek Vanecek - (New Jersey Devils) - Andrei Vasilevskiy - (Tampa Bay Lightning) - Daniel Vladar - (Calgary Flames) - Erik Kallgren – (Toronto Maple Leafs) - Cayden Primeau – (Montreal Canadiens)
  17. If you like this, but this version does not hold up, contact Dennis at Factory Mad. I had a Bauer 1S pro return without a wrist strap. He made a more permanent version of what you have for me. No sewing required to install.
  18. Keep us posted if you feel the sliding breaks in
  19. This comment is pretty far off the mark. You are absolutely correct that the differences between the lines are getting smaller and smaller. Especially with customization, you can basically an EFLex that is an Axis 2 with Knee rolls. Brian's will do the same. Vaughn's stiff pads are not very stiff. Most brands are going with 1 style boot break, 1 strapping set up, and then a choice of stiffness profile and knees rolls or not. Where you should do a bit more homework is on Bauer. Bauer probably has the biggest difference between lines right now. Just because 1 lines does not have knee rolls does not mean a thing. Bauer has 2 completely different boot break angles, strapping set ups, knee block flex profiles, calf plate flex profiles, and there is a major difference in comparing their stiffness. This does not get into the difference with the blockers and gloves. Why is everyone generally going to 1 basic pad setup? People basically want the same things these days.
  20. I ordered a pair. I have been messing with PPF and will be curious to compare these. Anyone get these to fit on a Bauer? Worried it will not work with the knee block style
  21. IMO, I find 600 the least consistent brand to brand. I would make make sure you try on CCM, Bauer, True, and Vaughn if you want that glove. You might like an SLR, but hate a True sort of thing. I love the Bauer Supreme break. I have tried and struggle to use a CCM600 or a Vaughn SLR
  22. I agree the Sher-Wood would be closest to the 600. I also think IF we have to throw the S into today's terms, it's a 600 also FWIW - Heaton actually started the discussion and terminology 60 degree break. Roy used this model, asked for a Heaton style glove, and the 590 break was born. Maybe we should be hipster goalie snobs calling them 3000 style breaks and 2000 style breaks?
