  1. My GT1 is similar with how they've down the floater protection. The floaters are made in such and armadillo fashion that they're never noticeable while playing and actively move out of the way when needed. Though, it did force me to place my blocker position to the "mid" setting on my warrior blockers (CCM) instead of the "high" setting (Velocity) due to the interference when playing the puck and standing. In a ready position it was never an issue.
  2. Thanks a lot for the "mini" review. It's about on par with a lot of people's full reviews. Much appreciated
  3. At least they're a little less obnoxious than the P1/P2 C/A's. I still can't believe those were legal.
  4. Time away to heal and mentally recover is always beneficial. I play a fair amount and really only get Christmas break and season breaks as my rest times where I don't play any hockey. Though I'm thinking of taking this summer off for the first time in years.

    Vaughn V9

Heretic. You know, now that I'm thinking about it, I'm seeing less and less Vaughn gear in the beer leagues. Well newer sets at least. The only guys I see still rocking Vaughn are lifelong users. I rarely see goalies make a switch into Vaughn. I mentioned in a previous thread that I think CCM was starting to be pigeon holed into the same category as Vaughn as a slow innovator/dinosaur brand compared to the Bauer/Warrior/Brians, and I still stand by it.

That's like @southpawtendy48 not getting anymore Vaughn gear. You two were the Vaughn regulars here. Though I do have to say I'm disappointed. CCM? What would your mother think?

    Vaughn V9

I mean, they have a different graphic and it's been thinned out a bit. Clearly massive changes. (yes I know about the change to an actual carbon fibre sheet)
  8. Yea, the ones where the opposite goal line is just only a little further than a regular blue line.
  9. I do enjoy how full on you've taken this Pooper joke Bunny.
  10. I'm just being an ass. They're really not a big deal, but definitely leads to the question of: "Why?"
  11. Excellent post. Especially with the follow up.
  12. I believe that was Rittich and the Flames goalie coach. Coach is right though. Just because this has become the flavour of the day doesn't mean that the tried, tested, and true wrap around on the ice isn't more dangerous and faster. It really comes down to defending a low chance play vs a higher chance play. I guarantee that the first goalie that gets faked out by this will be torn apart for not defending correctly.
  13. I think it's more the impression that the GGN's and GCN's give off about the new lines that make them seem as a larger version of an advertisement branch of each respective company instead of an actual review focused page. I both understand why they do it the way they do and why it bugs me as much as it does. Gear is expensive and acquiring all the newest and greatest before it releases to the public is a bonus that they're able to get. The caveat in that is that all of their impressions/reviews are heavily slanted towards avoiding mentioning anything remotely negative about a pad. Hopefully that makes sense.
  14. Woah woah woah. What are you doing? This is now a retro hockey video game thread. C'mon now.
  15. It was all about the NHL '94. Skate behind the net and out front again and shoot. 95% guarantee goal. Won so many Stanley Cups.
  16. If they do remove it, it won't be for a few years and that's after the move becomes super stale and has a high amount of success. I.E.: Spin-o-rama's in the shootout.
  17. You see those type of slashes a million times a game. Just looks worse as Ottawa's stick is in the air and they knocked Suro's stick out of his hand. Good no call.
  18. I understand what you're saying, but it feels like the marketing behind both lines is a tad extreme. Especially the axis line. It's great CCM is finally getting with the times, but all the goalie IG guys are salivating over it and it looks like a more modernized premier pad. Which, really, isn't anything that exciting.
  19. That's not allowed in today's NHL. No fighting, just showboating.
